Anonymous, 03 Aug 2010where do you get the Windows Mobile Device Center from ROM is 1.48.405.2 (71294) WWE - ROM dat... moreOk .405.2 is a UK ROM the same as my phone. (1.48 is the 2nd ROM that came out for that version)
The latest ROM for .405.2 is 1.66
Here is the link for WMDC
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
To get the right ROM go to
www.htc.com
Pick United Kingdom as your country
Go to the support tab
Pick HTC HD2 as your product
Lick on download for the ROM with no provider name. the date of it is 2010-01-25
If you have outlook on your PC you can use Windows Mobile Device Center to sync with it to backup your contacts, email, task, calendar, favorites, and more. Or just use the myphone software that came with the phone to backup to the cloud (don’t use both or you will end up with duplicate data when you restore.) updating your ROM will wipe your internal storage and set the phone back like it was the first time you were using it.
Ok guys. After using the 'mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense RC1.4' Android build Froyo+Sense, what can i say is YES ! I found a build that can daily used. so far every thing's work !
3G,Wifi,bluetooth,camera with flash, no more echo when calling..etc just download it from here :

1. You must have Windows Mobile Device Center installed on your PC. (It is needed to sync/install the ROM from your PC to the phone.)
2. You need to know what ROM is on your phone now. So you will know what country to pick from the home page of the HTC site in order to see the correct ROM update for your phone. (all HTC HD2’s don’t come with the same ROM)
3. When you find your ROM on the site to download all the writing above it is the instructions on how to install it so please read.
4. The file is an (.exe) so if you downloaded it with a download manager and getting a next file ending or wrong file size…. Don’t use that download manager.
Have you done all that I mentioned above?
JJ, 03 Aug 2010I am yet to decide on my next smartphone.I will need the mail extensively while travelling. Si... moreYou are comparing win mob vs BB vs Android. It's matter of personal preference. I have hd2 now and the reason I went with it is….big screen(browsing on opera is great) , built quality(its like tank) & MS office(need for my work). If you are a google guy…go with android. One big downside on android is…..battery life. Android is like hummer. On the other hand….BB is little out-dated but damn stable & their security & messaging is second to none. And do not forget bb keyboard (way better than virtual keyboard). New BB OS6 is on the way.
Choice is difficult but I recommend…..BB 9780(upcoming device) as I'm also going to get one of this. I'm just tired of touch screen. Its not reliable at all …esp with win mob. I pull out my hd2 from my pocket every minutes …just to see its not hanged or frozen. I do not want to miss my calls & messages. Apart from this hanging diseases, hd2 is the beast. But in the end of day…this is only mobile phone……..Main job of phone is…. to able to place/receive calls & sms.
Anthony, 03 Aug 2010what ROM you have now and what ROM you want to install? (official or cooked) anthony what i'm looking to do is update the music stabilty that they have on htc and the offical ROM
Its difficult to find something perfect, but i can assure that HD2 will not dissappoint..just go for it as its a brilliant phone.
I had a hold and play around with this phone today, it's good, and the net browsing is awesome. BUT, I didn't like the Windows OS.
I am yet to decide on my next smartphone.I will need the mail extensively while travelling. Since I've been using a windowns phone I am pretty uded to the HTC. Have managed to narrow down the list between HTC HD2/BB 9700/HTC Legend.
Can anybody suggest pros/cons and simplify my decision
