I have a lot of information saved on a word doc. somewhere at home that I copy pasted from this blog. Info you gave me with the whole ROM change process. I will try to transfer it to my phone so I can view it and see whether it was HSPL or SSPL...it definitely was not Goldcard. Iíll look into it once I get home and let you know.
It feels good to get back and talk to someone that knows their stuff as well as you do. And its also nice to know you remember me. It saves a lot of explaining :) Also, what time zone are you in? This will make things easier for me to figure out when to write on here and when not to.

For someone that thinks the phone is crap and wants to sell it, your price is too high for a used phone. An unlocked new one from www.clove.co.uk which is an official HTC retailer is $545 U.S.
You have to give people a deal if you want to get it sold.

Just download the .cab and click to install. Thatís it. (no unzipping or PC needed)
Every program I mentioned can be gotten as a .cab file.
But you are going to need a friend with a working PC for one thing. ROM 1.66.405.2 is out and I think you should get it. It fixed the sms bug and the task manager shows up in the default program list. I remember the hell you when thought in you apartment trying to do the ROM download but I canít remember which way I showed you to do it..

As for my phone, i put case & screen cover from day one.....so its totally new if u take out those covers. Not even a hair scratch physically. Plus has a good battery life in my unit.
Anthony, 14 Jun 20101. No flash for Opera, you will have to install and use skyfire browser for those web sites.
Skyfire supports Flash? As in, I can go to any websites that display things in flash and it would work?
As for the Task Manager, it does not appear as an option to be added to the quick link tabs. I will look into the MMTask Manager.
Also, how do I handle/what do I do with the different files that I can download to the phone. For example, what are the steps when trying to install a CAB. file vs any other file types?
There are websites that will still display in cell optimized form even though I will launch the browser via the globe icon. I will try this again once I get home. I do not have internet on my HD2, I use my home WiFi network to access online content via phone.
Current Software Info:
OS Ver. 5.2.21869 (218188.8.131.52)
ROM Ver. 1.48.405.2 (71294) WWE
ROM Date. 11/18/09
If you can recall, I had the whole issue of buying my HD2 from O2 Germany. It came unlocked with no O2 software or programs. The only problem was that it was all in German language. You helped me switch on to the UK ROM because I couldn't use the official HTC website updates because when asked to enter my phone info, it gave me the "not eligible" message or something around those lines.
I'm hoping that if there are any cool upgrades, programs or software tweaks that you suggest, they will not be hard to do on the phone itself. Like I said, my laptop backlight is fried and I cant afford a new one at this time. As for my work PC, that's out of the question as we run in a very strict work environment and we cannot install software/download anything on our work machines.

2. If you want more than 9 shortcuts you will have to install cookie home tab 1.8 and CHTEditor 1.8 to match. (with that you can have up to 80 shortcuts)
3. Add task manager as a quick link on your home screen. (Or install MMTaskManager and add that as a quick link.
4. You only get the cell optimized page when you use the search on the outside of the web home tab. But if you donít do that but tap the globe on that same tab to bring up the browser and do the search there you will get the desktop version of the page.
5. Canít help you with this one.
Note: if you have internet on your phone you donít need your PC to download or install any of the programs I mentioned
What ROM are you running now? I will give you a list of useful stuff. When I get home.

Good to hear.
1. Basically, every now and then I will run into the "flash/adobe" message problem when surfing the web on the phone. I don't know where to look for a flash/adobe download/update.
2. How can I add more shortcuts from the main menu (when you slide upwards, the 9 blank boxes appear)?
3. Is there a quick and simple way of getting to the Control Panel other than the START > SETTINGS > MENU > ALL SETTINGS > SYSTEM > TASK MANAGER ? because that is just WAAAY too many steps to do in order to access the Task Manager.
4. Is there any way of getting websites to think my handset is actually a desktop computer, and not load me a "optimized for your handset" webpage? This is very annoying and I want to view web pages as if I were on my laptop/pc.
5. Pandora won't work on HD2, because it's currently not supported...any way to get around this?
My laptop is still broken so the only time I can access the internet is at work. I haven't been keeping up with the posts or any new/updated information about what's new, what's hot and what I should be installing on my HD2. Anything I should know about, advice or good to know tricks you have for me are greatly appreciated.
Thank you all in advance.

I think you spend more time tweaking & fixing with this phone than actual use. I am using cookies 1.8 lock screen .....& for no reason ...screen doesn't respond.....need to remove battery all the time. Not a single day i am able to use this phone without a problem. Want to sell if i get good deal.
