Can someone please help me out with my question ? How to set caller's picture in the phone directory ? So that when the known person calls along with his name and number his or her picture too appears in the blank picture box ? Please someone.
Flashed "Merlion Rom" after using energy rom for a week. Most of ppl may not be aware of this rom. This is the first rom cooked by singaporean guy. The reason I tried is ...it got chinese input support (but no compact keyboard).
This rom is basically similar to stock....took out useless stuffs & added some useful stuffs like bsb, document tab, torch etc...Its not bad....stable & battery life is amazing on this. It got htc desire task bar. The only thing i hate about this rom is icon. It does have icon changer but do not know how to change. I think first i need to import icons from somewhere to use this apps.
I will try Dutty very soon after this. Then enough with cooked rom!

You would better off buying a bigger memory card if you have backed it up on your PC as they are very cheap now & you might need that extra memory later on. :o)
Obeche, 04 Jun 2010GhanaYes & No
I did buy a blackberry and activated the unlimited data plan because none of the service providers here would give unlimited data to a customer that was not using a blackberry and the blackberry service. But I use that sim in this phone.
It dose not let me use any of the blackberry services all a get is to have unlimited data and a voice plan on the same sim. (Before I had a sim that did unlimited data only and had to do a sim switch to make and get calls)
I do not have a provider HD2 so all I had to do to get the data on BB sim to work was, use a Wi-Fi connection to update my connections database of the "connections wizard" online and it started working.
The post you read from me before, was of me saying I read you can get the blackberry services like “BBM” and others to work on this phone and I wanted help to do it.
Do this date I still don’t have any of them working on the HD2.
But is nice not to have to switch between sim to use unlimited data.
Note: not because they can’t tell I’m not using it in the blackberry on my provider dose not mean it will be the same for you. So do a test first. You don’t want to get stuck with a killer bill.
Pls did I read well from one of your posts that you are able to use Blackberry Connect on your HD2 (to use the unlimited data service on the sim provided)?
Can you kindly elaborate.
Did you run/install any apps on your HD2 to make this happen?
And if YES, which one(s) and any specific procedures on doing the installation?
Yesterday I have experience some problems with the phone, so I decided to do hard reset. First I pull out the SD card(HD2 turned off), and I inserted into my lap top with adapter in order to backup my pictures and music and to format the card. I backup the data, but when I tried to format the card, I get message "windows was unable to complete the format". I also tried with several other options like: cmd format, safe mode format, SDformatter 2.0 but nothing help. The strangest thing is that I can delete the files(normally, I enter the card and via shift+delete on files), but after refresh on the windows explorer the files are back! I also tried with another laptop, I double checked the safety switch on the left side of the SD card, I even try to format via HD2, but files are always back. Nothing helps.
I appreciate assistance please
p.s SD card is SanDisk 2 Gb.

everything you did to the phone after ROM install gets undone. that is why it is important to backup your data that can't be kept on the SD with "MyPhone" or a program like it.
note: (a soft reset is just turning off the phone and starting it back.)

you do understand the difference between hard reset and flashing a new ROM?
hard reset reinstalls the phone from the softwareROM that is kept on the hidden partition on the international Drive (no PC needed). and a flash put a new softwareROM on the hidden partition of the drive.(which the phone then has no choice but to try and install.
