everything you did to the phone after ROM install gets undone. that is why it is important to backup your data that can't be kept on the SD with "MyPhone" or a program like it.
note: (a soft reset is just turning off the phone and starting it back.)

you do understand the difference between hard reset and flashing a new ROM?
hard reset reinstalls the phone from the softwareROM that is kept on the hidden partition on the international Drive (no PC needed). and a flash put a new softwareROM on the hidden partition of the drive.(which the phone then has no choice but to try and install.

lol all play aside now....
".net" is a programing language. the version on the phone is older than what some of the newer programs need. use Google search and look for ".net cf 3.5 redistributed" it is a .msi file you have to download from a microsoft web page and install on your PC with the phone connected in sync mode.

but just try shouting down and starting back the phone first.
also check the free storage on the internal drive and see if you have more than 30mb free. if its not any of them then do the hard reset. the drivers for the bluetooth may not have installed properly after the ROM change.
(that is why some people recommend doing 2 hard resets after a ROM change. just to make certain all old drivers are changed and all new ones are installed properly.)
sorry I did not mention that before.
don't forget to do a sync with "My Phone" before you hard reset so updated info will be restored when you set it up with the same account again after the reset.
also export any new footprints you made.
best type of hard reset to do is...
power off the phone.
hold both volume keys (up/down).
short press the power key.
keep holding volume keys till you get the gray screen with instructions.
if you did it correctly, the phone will start just like it did the first time you turned the phone on.

Do i need 2 do a factory reset? Thanks a lot
Tank, 03 Jun 2010Hey Anthony. Thanks again for the info. i have a problem with my bluetooth. i tried to use it ... moreBack to the topic of lag and instability....
1. Here are some of the settings changes you should make.
Go to every program you have on the phone that saves files on the phone and change the default save location to the SD. Most programs have their own options that can be found in their own menu.
Word, notes, excel, camera, footprints camera, email attachments, Opera “catch files” are a few you going to want to take a look at.
To change the location of the catch files in Opera....
Open Opera and type "opera:config" in the address bar. You'll then be in the config page. Find the section "User Prefs".
In there you should find something called "Cache Directory4". Just change that path to any directory in your storage card
(for example : "\Storage Card\OperaCache"). Scroll to bottom of page and hit Save.
2. Next you will want to delete the extra junk HTC/win mo gave you that you are not using.
(Delete the ones you don’t use, don’t worry they are still in the ROM, so if you every do a factory reset you will get them all back.)
a. Folder: My Device\Music
Delete the sample song folders.
b. Folder: My Device\My documents\My Pictures
Delete all or move to storage.
c. Folder: My Device\My documents\My wallpapers
Delete all or move to Storage.
d. Folder: My Device\My documents\My wallpapers
e. Folder: My Device\Program files
Delete the folder "copilot" if you don't use it.
f. Folder: My Device\Windows\Animated Wallpaper
Delete all or move to Storage.
g. Folder: My Device\Windows\
Delete Opera 9.exe (rom version will replace it don't worry)
h. Folder: My Device\Windows\
Delete OperaL.exe (rom version will replace it don't worry)
i. Folder: My Device\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Delete which ever shortcut you don't need.
j. Folder: My Device\Windows\Rings
Delete the Ring tones you don't use or move them to storage.
Tank, 03 Jun 2010wen i open comm manager. i have tried to turn it on several times but it doesnt work. i have a... moreI was going to get into a small settings change for Bluetooth to save space on the internal drive later on but as you have problems now, I will do that now.
The Bluetooth on the HD2 has 2 modes, private/invisible & visible.
By default it is set to invisible mode. In this mode when the Bluetooth is on, other devises can’t see your phone unless you pair with them (they can’t send the pair request or files to you but you can do both to the other device) this makes it a little harder for your phone to be hijacked over the Bluetooth.
Note: once a device is paired with the Hd2 it will see the phone even when it is in private mode.
If you switch to the visible mode, other devices can see the Hd2 and send files to it without pairing.
The icon notifications for the 2 are.... (Bluetooth icon with an eye) or (Bluetooth icon by itself).
Using the Bluetooth...
There are 3 ways to activate and use the Bluetooth
1. From the application that wants to use the Bluetooth like “file explorer” hold a file you want to send till you get the popup menu, then pick “send via Bluetooth” or “ActiveSync” when you open the program on the phone, from its menu you can connect to active sync on your PC via Bluetooth
2. From the “wireless controls”... all you can do in there is turn it on by tapping the switch “NOT SLIDING IT”(in whatever mode it was set to in “option 3” ) or search for devices by tapping on the words “Turn on Bluetooth”
3. From Settings>Menu>All Settings>Bluetooth.... this is where you can (right tab) do Bluetooth Printing, networking, business card exchange & push.. (center tab) pair devices.. (Left tab) are all the settings you can change your Bluetooth name here, change your mode and more.
One of the things you going to want to do in here, is go to “advanced...”> Tile Transfer
And check the box that says “Save files to storage card when present” or if you have a custom folder on the SD you want to use don’t check that box just search for the folder you want to use in the address bar above.

hey, i got this phone, well i must appreciate htc for making such a marvel. i just want to request and complain to htc that the video and picture quality isn't that what i expected. i must say its not good though, it would've been the best phone of the world if only the cam was good.... other than that its a great piece of electronic.... great job htc
