kat, 02 Jun 2010Hi Anthony,I always see your name and it seems you like to help people :)I had a big problem t... moreWill if you where using “My phone” or any other backup program. That I have been telling people it is very important to do.
Then just do a hardrest/factory reset. And after that do a restore. It will not put back the programs you installed but it will put back your contacts, calendar, tasks, text messages, browser favorites, documents, photos, videos, and music that was on your internal storage. And if you where not using “My phone” I hope you learned you lesson and start using it after you do the factory reset.
If you don’t know how to do a factory reset a.k.a. hard reset just let me know.
Hi Anthony,I always see your name and it seems you like to help people :)I had a big problem today.I pressed on the "added value" application without knowing what it is...the result is that I lost all my previous data (apps, programs, contacts, reminders etc...),same as hard reset... and arabic version appeared instead of english one. Laura, 02 Jun 2010Hi.
I keep on getting the following error message. "A Problem has occurred with files... moreYou said you have a provider phone & a sms problem that leads me to believe your ROM is 1.43 or 1.48, which is know to have a sms bug. Go to the HTC site and pick the country of the phone provider and under support for the HD2 find the updated rom for your provider.
Note: you don’t want any ROM older/lower than 1.66 because that number and up is when the sms problem was fixed in roms.
I'm enjoying my energy rom at this moment. Now I'm loving it more than my previous stock rom. Its stable, slim, & good UI. Only bad thing i can say is...lack of chinese input. I'm not chinese but live in china...so its very imp for me.
Battery life in stand by is amazing. I charged battery 100% before sleep....in the morning 9am next day...battery shows 96%.
Overall battery is not bad as i thought before. I found out the killer for my battery...thats "swype keyboard". If i use this ...it drains like water. I dont know why.
I want to keep this but lack of chinese input .....making me think for next choice. I think i will be trying "Merlion rom"...this is the first rom cooked by singaporean guy & it has chinese input also. I heard its good. Lets see....i will let you know guys later.
Galib, 02 Jun 2010HD 2 is a very good phone but i m facing recently a freeing problem. It becomes hang and I hav... moreI'm also using energy rom at this moment. Its been only 3-4 days....so far so good. Its very stable and no freezing at all.
I think the problem you are having is due to "Radio version". Pls check your radio version...you gotta have radio version "2.07.50". You can find this if you google in internet. Flash this radio and hopefully your problem will be solved.
HD 2 is a very good phone but i m facing recently a freeing problem. It becomes hang and I have detach the battery from the HD2 and again it works!!! Recently i m using the ENERGY ROM. Anybody have any idea why it's happening and what's the solution??? Please help me out!!! I really want to use this phone....
I keep on getting the following error message. "A Problem has occurred with filesys.exe" This in turn is followed by my smses not going out, but all other functions still work. I have not installed anything else except what I got from my SP. What can I do to correct the problem.
Tank, 31 May 2010Hey Anthony, i have installed it on my mobileHi Tank, I’m now getting some time to write
Lag and instability
2 of the main reasons for lag and instability is lack of free memory and 3rd party software that are not 100% compatible with the HD2.
I would attempt to explain it the best way I can before I go into what can be done about it.
The HD2 has 3 types of memory, RAM, ROM and SD.
RAM behaves just like RAM on a PC but the ROM and the SD is more like internal and external hard drives. And just like hard drives on a PC, 10% of it must be free in order for the drive to be defragmented. The closer you get to the 10% the slower the phone responds. When you drop below 10% the phone freezes or/and hardware drivers shot down. You should also take note that the” hardware ROM” has 2 petitions
1 partition on the “hardware ROM” is visible storage, which contains the installed OS and all the other programs and files that HTC/phone service provider puts on. The next partition is hidden storage where the software ROM is kept. The software ROM is an uninstalled image of the phone software (that is what you downloaded from the HTC site the other day).
So from the first time you turn on the phone, the 512mb storage you saw in the spec, most of it is already used up.
Next thing that is similar to a PC is..... Whenever a program is running, part of it loads into RAM and a next part loads into a swap file. This swap file is kept on the internal storage even if the program is installed on the SD.
What’s left after that is free for you to put/install things on (and that is not much)
3rd party software problems.....
Unlike some other phones where the 3rd party software is made for the phone hardware, that is not the case here. Most 3rd party software is made for the OS/windows mobile and not particularly for any one hardware model. And most of the time it is not tested on every window mobile phone model made. So there are times you will install a program that is not 100% compatible with the HD2 hardware and that will cause instability.
As soon as I get time again I will start posting the things that can be done.
JLC, 01 Jun 2010I was thinking about getting this - have you used it at all?? yeah i finally figured it all out
well worth downloading it and paying for the supporters version. runs ps1 games at 60fps and supports multitouch and is amazinggg!
but it only works on a stock rom + is a battery life killer!

anthony, this is a stab in the dark
but do you know anything about fpsece? (that ps1 emulator)
Found this nice navigation app for HD2. It works without a data plan needed. It gives you spoken turn by turn, speed warnings, gives you pictured lane assignment at interchanges, auto re-route, etc. It uses built in GPS... It was about half off til May 31st...
