Anonymous, 16 Aug 2012Because this is the best mobile for tweaks, look at xda-developers and find a lot of customs f... moreI know all to well about xda. I have been using xda way back when I had a windows mobile Qtek S200 then the HTC Touch HD and now the HTC HD2.
The thing is twinking a dead OS is pointless if you can’t get the new apps that are on the other OS. Right not I’m pisst I can’t have whatsapp which is like the new BBM across platforms. There in no longer a good FB chat app for the WM OS. Put it simple nothing new is being made for WM and some of the old stuff stop supporting the WM OS.
That there is the argument that you can install Android on it.
But if you are in the market to buy a new phone you can early buy a phone that comes with android and has much better hard wear spec and still modify it on XDA. You will not be able to put the WM OS on it, but most likely you will not want to do that because as I said before that OS is dead.
Then there is the argument that it can install WP7.
Well by the end of the year WP7 will also be a dead OS in favour of WP8 which is a window NT based OS. And from a hardware point of view it is pointless to try and put WP8 on the HD2.
So know all this, I find it hard to understand why someone would still want to buy a HD2 today when there is better out there? What am I missing?

essi, 13 Aug 2012What is difference between HD2 that is made in china & HD2 that is made in taiwan?
Whi... moreI have a UK factory unlocked HD2 (made in china) and it working just fine.
By why are you interested in which is better in such an old phone?
There are a lot higher spec phones coming with Android now. WM OS is discontinued so there is not much new software being made for it. WP OS is moving on to version 8, by the end of the year. So buying this phone now is just wasting money in my opinion.
What is difference between HD2 that is made in china & HD2 that is made in taiwan?
Which is better?
I had the us version hd2 since 2010, it is a great device i love it very much. Is a pity that the touch screen only lasted for 11 months,
At 2011, the touch screen simply gone.
I return the device to t mobile usa, and they replace it to a refubished one.
My cousin then change the os to android gingerbread, I love it even more now.
But now exactly 11 months later the same problem is back, the touch screen is faulty again!
Now i am going to buy a samsung galaxy note

KP2012, 23 Jul 2012Since this phone has Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional instead of Android, how do you ... moreYou find programs for windows mobile the same way you would find programs for your PC. (search the internet for downloads)
Go to google and key works in your search is “windows mobile” any version or “pocket PC” download the cab file and copy it to your SD card and use the file explorer on the phone to find and run the installation.
e.g. of a search is…… garmin for windows mobile or cookie home tab v2 for windows mobile.
You can also get good stuff on XDA developers web site or http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/
Windows mobile is has been discontinued some time now so don’t expect to find any new software for the OS. Only old stuff but some are still useful.

KP2012, 23 Jul 2012Since this phone has Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional instead of Android, how do you ... moreJust do a google search for programs that are made for windows mobile or pocket PC. Then just copy the installation cab file to your SD and then use the file explorer on the phone to find and run the installation cab.
The search could go like this.... garmin for windows mobile or cookie home tab v2 for windows mobile.
Hope you get the drift
In addition to doing a google search you can get programs and mod from the XDA developers
