The problem happened when I put on the s... moreCheap generic screen protector don’t check the affect of the material they are using to take into consideration it is going on a capacitive screens and some of them can generate their own electrical signature, which the HD2 would mistake for your hand.
When my “SP P300” got some digs in it, I took it off and replaced it with a generic protector I got with my case and my phone started giving problems as well.
I told you this before but you did not take me on.
Maybe if you watch the video at this link you would understand what’s going on
Anonymous kMhZ... please tell High Tech about this because most times he is blind to what I write :-)
High Tech, 10 Apr 2010You know U could be right??? Come to think about it.. The problem happened when I put on the s... moreYes, you can still have a screen protector to protect the screen. Go buy the OEM one.
I ordered 2 screen protectors for the HD2 before the US HD2 was released. Guess what!?! I threw both in the garbage, and purchased the OEM immediately without regret, though price might appear to be expensive.

Once it works, you can always put back any customed ROM again to play with it.
High Tech, 10 Apr 2010You know U could be right??? Come to think about it.. The problem happened when I put on the s... moreIf I remember correctly from previous experience some cheap screen might affect the touchscreen even though it appears to be working correctly.
Just take it off, and see what happens next.
If it doesn't solve the problem immediately, still re-install stock ROM after that.
What might had happened is that if u had the cheap screen protector on why installing a ROM, some part of the screen might had been pressed while u did not know it.

The problem happened when I put on the screen protector at my daughters swim meet... I will take off the screen protector. If I do take off the screen protector I want have anything to protect the screen??? But why will that make the phone not turn off???????
Windows Media Player doesn't play thru my bluetooth speakers while on the phone like Slacker Radio does.
Anyone knows any remedy to that?
Well, I had my first discharge today with the extended battery.
I will have to go two more times to see if things really improve that much.
Will post later the result after 3rd discharge which will take some time since charging just the battery once take about 10h.
After 5h30 using back stock battery, I got mixed feeling about the extended non-OEM 2400mAh battery.
Although I haven't put as much stress to the stock battery as I have done yesterday with the extended battery, the stock battery seems to be of higher quality somehow.
I think I have read before that the HD2 uses different type of lithium battery...
...will do some more research...

suave, 09 Apr 2010Please can someone help me out with some apps for this monster, i just got mine from T-mobile ... moreI would recommend to get SPB Backup first before you do anything else, but that's me.
I don't like the HTC Sense. If you are the same, try SPB Shell.
And if you have time, go to XDA site after you got SPB Shell and the mskip version with more widget.
You will definitely need to install Coreplayer.
The rests are tweaks, and other apps/games that you may need for yourself.
I can still listen to Slacker Radio through my Bluetooth stereo speakers while being on the phone.
Ain't that cool.
One problem though, a slight disconnection when on/off initial call.
Please can someone help me out with some apps for this monster, i just got mine from T-mobile USA, IT IS AWESOME PEOPLE!!!!
Anthony, 09 Apr 2010cab files that change settings do the same thing as a registry tweak. All it really has in it ... moreThanks anthony. I understood wat you said. I had problem with... unable to disable weather animation.cookie editor also did not work. So i found registry tweak from xda dev.....change value 0 to 1. It disabled animation but changed my wall paper also. After further search in xda...i was told that i can put value 1to5. I put 3 ...and it stopped animation and didnot affect my wallpaper either.
I installed this Remote tracker on my phone. I cant afford to lose my hd2. But looks little complicated settings. Can you help me with configuration of RT? I have not done anything so far with it. Thanks
Syrus, 09 Apr 2010Tired of hearing ipad things. My cousin has iphone 3gs and I've hd2. We always fight & get... moreYou should know this before you do a speed comparison
iPhone only runs 1 app at a time.
That is not the same for the HD2
But if you were to only Run 1 app at a time (meaning close every app with a task manage after you use It.) there would be no way the iphone would be faster.
and i dont know about your friends phone and what apps he has but i have seen apps chash my friends who have gailbroken 3GS
Syrus, 09 Apr 2010Installing cab file vs registry tweak....which is better? I've been doing registry tweaks a lo... morecab files that change settings do the same thing as a registry tweak. All it really has in it is a script that will let it edit the registry for you, so you don’t have to do it your self.
When you look at your registry after you use one of those cabs, you will see it did the same thing you where doing manually. So which way you go is up to you.
Do you know that with “tweaking cabs” like BsB you don’t even have to leave them installed after you made your tweaks. Because uninstalling them does not put back the setting to there default. I only leave BsB installed on my SD because I use the “shake for screenshots feature”
I think the tweaking cabs you are talking about are more for people that not comfortable with editing there own registry or change between the setting so often that a .cab would be a faster way to do the edit.
For e.g I switch between blocking data and allowing data so often in one day, a cab switch to do that is better for me, rather than manually changing settings which would take to long.

I see no problem with the HD2. It is fast and smooth (at least the US version).
I have loaded Opera 9, TomTom GPS in the background, Radio Slacker, and HTC Album in the HD2. To my surprise, system was idling at 80% in the HD2. System is still smooth and responding without lag. Try that with the *phone.
So I really see how the *phone can be smoother and faster at all!!!
High Tech, 09 Apr 2010Well the issue of my phone not shutting OFF is a hardware issue... I installed Miri ROM v11 an... moreSomehow I think I had the same problem as you are having now.
I cannot quite remember it because it is not with my HD2 nor the i900. I cannot figure which previous HTC WM or Pocket PC phone it was.
I am pretty sure that it was the turn off problem too with cutomed ROM and XDA devs site, and something about bad screen protector as well.
Try from scratch again like Anthony has said with Bootloader and original ROM, and remove that screen protector as well if it ain't OEM.
