Anonymous, 05 Apr 2010Was it working before? Did you recently install something? New ROM or new software?Yes it was working before no problems... I did try a new ROM and it worked fine.... All I did was put on a new sreen protector and turned the device back on... Looks like the shutdown screen is in a loop, becasue it comes on everytime I start or reset my device????????????

I have also found out (THE HARD WAY) that some programs don't soft reset properly. Hence, it might mess up your OS after some installations.

Every time the HD2 powers up I see the shut down screen (shutdown, Lock, etc.)... It seems this screen is in some type of loop mode.... Maybe that is why the device is not working, but I cannot get rid of that screen from poping up everytime I reset my device... Wipe out my ROM and reinstalled the ROM thinking that will get rid of screen.. That didn't work (screen still there everytime I restart device).... Don't what to do?????? Looks like I might have to send to HTC for repair.... That sucks.........................
Anonymous, 05 Apr 2010If you really don't care about the screen size and the 1GHz processor, you can try X2. Look... morei wouldnt recommend x2. 600mhz for windows mobile might be kinda sluggish.. and the x1 & x2 seems kinda overpriced for the specs ur getting. i'd pick hd2. or maybe u can a look at motorola droid / milestone. seems good to me. 600mhz for android runs smoothly so nth to wry bout there. u'll also get a 5mp camera, 3.7inch tft capacitive screen, 16m colors with a full qwerty keyboard and its only like 2mm thicker than the hd2. i would've bought that if i didnt buy the hd2 :)

Look for the Omnia II for its internal storage as well.
HD2 is definitely for power user.
Well my shutdown button on my HD2 is not working now... Don't know why???? I haven't dropped it or anything... I put on a screen protector on the HD2 and powered back on the device. It worked fine, but know I cannot power of the HD2.. When I try to power off using xdashutdown app, it starts to shut down, but turns right back on... Even pressing the shut off button on the HD2 does nothing anymore. Want shut off or suspend the device...... That really sucks........ Has anyone else had this problem???????????????????????
Dwip, 05 Apr 2010Hi there, I use Nokia 5800 XpressMusic now. But, it's camera and RAM sucks. I'm planning to bu... moreI also find the phone to be powerful enough to preview thumbnail pictures of high quality size (e.g. 5MB per picture) without much lag.
I use Resco Photo Viewer instead of the HTC Album.
The only things missing from this phone are stereo speakers (on the sides of the phone or top & bottom), and a nice 8MP camera. Otherwise, it is a great, powerful, and stable phone (at least the US version).
My phone has not frozen even once, except when my SIM card went berzerk.
The key is to know what you are doing (e.g. multi-tasking, closing unused programs, auto soft reset, and etc...).

ROM and RAM is more than enough.
With WM, you can manage your playlist way better than... let's say N97 or even iphone.
You just don't scan your library. You can browse to specific file, folder, and pinpoint your favorite playlist from different folders with ease. All that done from your phone unlike some others...
WM better file management (i.e. file explorer). I can imagine about WP7 with all the hubs settings to memorize.
Hi there, I use Nokia 5800 XpressMusic now. But, it's camera and RAM sucks. I'm planning to buy Htc HD2. It has 5 MP camera and I also like the configurations. So, could U suggest me if it would be a better choice to move to HTC HD2 or I shall lOOk for someother brand? Help me plz with this suggestion and thanx in advance:)
Yeah, don't forget to SOFT RESET from time to time after some installations. That's the trick too.
Syrus, 05 Apr 2010Anthony, I like to reinstall 1.66 rom. I've been getting error message "problem has occur... moreIf 1.66 is the ROM already running on the phone all you really have to do is a “hard reset” not flash it over.
Flashing from your PC is when you want to change your ROM.
How did I do the ROM change with you the first time?
How to do a true hard reset....
1. Power off the phone.
2. Hold the volume up and down at the same time.
3. Keep holding it and tap the power key.
4. Release it when you see the gray screen with blue writing
5. Follow on screen instructions.
It you get any other screen than that gray screen with the blue writing then you did not hold down the two keys long enough (and you may have to take out the battery to restart)

At some point you going to have to just hope on and try it, knowing that there is someone there that did it before to help you.
It’s the same thing for hacking the SPL and I am here, so stop texting and just do :-)
What is the rom # you have now?
