Anthony, 03 Apr 2010It could have been, you live in the US so you wanted the US 3G version but plan to use it with... moreYes, US 3G is hardware based.
Yes, the US HD2 is cheaper than an unlocked non-US HD2 version.
If you don't care about having 3G, you can get the US phone, unlock it, and you'll certainly have access to data Edge connection.
The ROM is so stable (at least for me) that I don't even have to bother putting other ROM.
You can always try to put another ROM in the US HD2 to see if you can get better stability with 3G connection outside the US.
Personally, I have waited that long for the US 3G ability. If you really don't care about 3G, I would think of getting something smaller like an Omnia II or X2 for the wife.

if it will work will an AT&T sim, I know it will work with a digicel sim.
that is why I want to know if the one without the plan is not locked like the one with the plan.
3G don't matter to me(im not in the US and I don't have access to 3G service). I want to get a HD2 to replace my wife half dead Nokia and the US version cost less than the international version I have. and it has more ROM/RAM space for me to hack.
Anonymous, 03 Apr 2010It is obvious. I got it because I got the T-mobile SIM. Otherwise, I would have gotten your ve... morethe rom is not what is giving you the US 3G.
I have used that ROM on my phone. and others have tried it just to see if it would make the international version get 3G in the US. its the radio hardware it self. the US version is different.
I want to but if for the bigger rom but I need to know if my sim will work in the no service plan version. or are they all iPhone style sim locked?
I was also a bit dissapointed at first that the US HD2 came with WM6.5 version instead of WM6.5.3.
But I gotta say that WM6.5 is the best choice to those people that came from WM6.1.
I guess with the Start button up there some programs are more compatible.
With the Start button down there, it may just be more practical since buttons are down there.
Anthony, 03 Apr 2010It's sold out there.

But of course, there are others that are unlike me. The US version is best with US T-Mobile. Unlike you, I gotta stay with this ROM for US 3G.

Does anyone know whether or not the T-Mobile version of the HD2 has 3G+ compatibility on Canadian networks?
It doesn't seem that it will become available in Canada very soon which is why I ask. Though I could be wrong? Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks!
[deleted post]iphone is piece of nothing it s the worst phone what ever i have . people don t buy this american shit. htc is perfect brand and hd2 is perfect phone. which phone in the world have wi fi router and speed 1ghz of cpu no one only htc hd2. people open your eyes. i bought htc hd2 it s a perfect phone on the world.
HD2 seems to be sold out in most places but in INDIA, the sales are slow as HTC is not quiet popular. There maybe huge stock here. The prices have also dropped since launch. I shall wait till they stop marketing here as hd2 wont be accepted in INDIA so easily due to price and offcource windows mobile is not friendly enough though customisable as per average user. After iPhone India saw floods of Blackberry. They are still to recover from that ;)
ansary, 02 Apr 2010Hi Anthony again
As an expert , would you please answer my qwestion about which operating sys... morethey are both really good. but if you need microsoft Outlook/Office compatibility then go with windows mobile.

High Tech, 02 Apr 2010I'm using Miri cust ROM, but want HTC volume control system to adjust the volume on my HD2. Is... moreFound the solution to volume control issue.. When I installed Miri ROM, I also had a Miri volume cab in my auto install folder that installed Miri volume system.. That disabled HTC volume system.. I removed Miri volume system software from phone, and it went back to HTC volume system... Happy camper now.............. I like this finger friendly version better... Also you can set the volume to low without it being real loud, when you don't have headphones available.........
