With the HD2, I think I have to rethink about my strategy. I really like the HTC gel case. It is really practical.
But for $25 only, well I guess I can throw in my money to see if it will work like before. Although the size is really something to reckon about.

karen, 01 Apr 2010is it cookie home useful ?Cookie home tap is only useful if you need more quick links spots (up to 75 spots), call history on clock screen, more calendar spots on home screen (up to 5) or have a need to turn off weather animation. If you don’t have a need for any of that then it’s not useful. So you decide for yourself.
Syrus, 31 Mar 2010Hi Anthony

When you tap it, the dot turns red. And you will no longer get the weather animation on the clock screen. Tap it again and the dot is green and the animation is on again.
Google map need an internet connection at all times
There is a program called “OpenMobileMaps” that will let you do map catching to the phone like you want to do but there maps are not as detail a Google maps.
The GPS itself does not need internet but the programs you use it with may need internet for them to work.
The GPS on your phone works by directly connecting with the Global Positioning Satellite (that is not using your cellular radio so there is no charger from the phone company for that.) but when you want to see the info on a map and you are using your data plan to get the map that is where the charge is.
Programs like digital compass, OpenMobileMaps, phone tracker and so on don’t need the internet just the GPS for finding your location.
If you go into the setting of Google map and turn on the GPS when you are outside the dot that shows where you are turns into an arrow, and can get a location lock within 10meters. The arrow will point in the direction you are moving. Try it when you are in your car and tap the location dot in the corner of the map and the arrow will move to the centre of your screen and the map will move to show that you are moving.
A next use of the GPS that does not need internet is Geo tagging pictures.
Take a picture with footprints and it will tag the picture with the location you were when you took it.
Then when you go home and flip that footprint and click on menu you can pick “show on map to see the location in Google or pick use digital compass and you will see how far and in what direction the location is. This one is very handy if you are an armature to trail riding, hiking, hunting, hang gliding or could never find your car back in a large open air mall car park (take picture of your start point and you can use that picture with the digital compass to find your way back. No internet or cell service needed just a clear view of the sky so you can connect with the many GPSatellites that are orbiting the earth. Foot prints can even be exported to send to your friend and they will be able to open it in Google earth or Google maps.
The Google maps that come with the phone is not the newest one so you should update it. The new one can do allot more if you have a Google account.
Google Latitude lets you see on your map where your other Google account friends are.
My map lets you draw on Google maps on your PC and have the info uploaded to you phone Google maps when you log in there.
