I have a question for those who saw the WM7 video. Is the prototype phone being used the HD3???????? I mean look at the size of the phone. Could be 4.5 in screen???? The phone looks like the HD2? I thought it was until I saw just the three buttons on the front.
You can like the interface or hate it, but nothing has been mentioned about developing applications or anything.
This is a sum of what we do know:
- New UI
- Zune Software Integrated
- Live Tiles
- 'Hubs' that connect to multiple sites
- You can develop applications for it (and maybe 3rd party 'Hubs')
Here is what we don't know:
- Nothing about multi-tasking
- Nothing about applications on the device
Here is what we expect:
- Applications from WinMo 6.5.x will not work, as mentioned 'a new set of tools for developing will be ready for our partners soon'.

How many applications can you run on HD2 while playing music and web browser on it. I find after running more than 3 or 4 apps the other apps closes automatically after 2 or 3 mins Please Reply . Multitasking has been problem with winmo 6.5.with 6.1 i used to run 6 to 8 apps without getting closed for long time.

The "Touch-IT BL - Updated with build 21892", seems to work very well so far.... I just want a sable ROM for everyday use with the Doc and eReader Tab's... This ROM may do the trick???? If this doesn't work, I'm going back to stock HTC ROM. Besides I'm getting tired of putting Cooked ROM's on my phone. Like U said about new WM7 cooked ROM's, I want to try them also on the HD2...... I just want one that will be my everyday ROM til then?????

Bora, 16 Feb 2010Hi,
Just been using the HD2 for 2 days now. Previously I had an iphone 3GS. I was bored bec... moreYou are right, if you look at the screen at the right angle you can see the touch grid points. it does look big but not as big as 5mm/0.5cm
And as for having to zoom-in to tap a link..... That is a setting in Opera, not a fault in the screen.
If you use skyfire browser you will see you don’t have to zoom-in to tap links.
Or if you use “BsB tweaks” to turn on “Opera link Click” you will see you don’t have to zoom in to click a link in Opera as well.
From the base of my palm to the tip of my index finger is 22cm and I have no problem sliding my fat tomb on the letter index that is to the right of “all people” without it dialling a person. And on the favourite people tap of the UI, i can tap their names to get into their info without dialling, which is what will happen if i tap the picture above the name.
Is your rom 1.43?
High Tech, 16 Feb 2010Well I tried one last cooked ROM "Touch-IT BL - Updated with build 21892 & 23534"... moreLOL you have turned into a cooked ROM junky.
I was just like you with my HTC TOUCH HD.
Have fun an keep the forum up-to-date with your findings.
It is appreciated

So at lest you will get to try it. Now those are the cooked ROMs i will want to try every one that comes out. Not the cooked ROMs you are seeing now.
And i think you meant 1GB to 2GB RAM and 8GB – 32GB ROM. Having 32mb of RAM and 2mb ROM would put you back in cell phone Stone Age. lol.
Well I tried one last cooked ROM "Touch-IT BL - Updated with build 21892 & 23534". They have two versions 21892 and 23534. Tried the 23534 (WM6.5.X), but the sync didn't work on it. It synced the first time around, but started to freeze on syncing after setup. Also you couldn't open Word Doc's either (from file explor or sense tab. So I tried version 21892, and it's working like a Charm so far.... It auto sync's with no problems so far. It's very fast also. Now these ROM's doesn't unlock the added RAM, which is a bummer, but it works well. Also they've added some nice app's as well like (Flashlight, Recso File Explorer, PPCPimBackup, CorePlayer, Pocket RAR, and xdaShutdown to name a few app's). Also it has some custom folders and icons.... It looks really nice as well. Will post on it some more after I use it.
Anthony, 16 Feb 2010what i think after watching the 3 hour windows mobile 7 video.
Windows mobile 7 UI is a big... more#3 If HTC comes out and says there will be now update to WM7 for the HD2, I will more likely jump to another manufacturer. I will not pay $800+ for another HTC phone, when I can see what other players will bring out for WM7???? I saw somewhere on the web that LG has a nice WM7 phone coming out, and who knows what Sony, and Samsung will come out with?????
I was hoping to get a feel for WM7 on the HD2, before I went out and purchased another phone (Mid 2011 or 2012), to see what the other players will bring to the table. I must for me will be more RAM (8MB to 32MB), ROM (1MB to 2MB), HD video (play and rec), and a HDMI port to play on TV (TV out)........
High Tech, 15 Feb 2010Looks like WM7 want have customization for the likes of HTC, Samsung, Sony, etc.?????? I think... morewhat i think after watching the 3 hour windows mobile 7 video.
Windows mobile 7 UI is a big jump if you had a phone that only had the windows mobile 6.5 UI
But the HD2 has the Sense UI and most of the things i see in the raw win mo 7 UI, I already do in the HTC Sense UI. So the only thing i was impressed by in the 3 hour video was the Zune and the xbox live coming to the OS.
But 3 things I'm thinking about after that video.
1. One of their OEM’s is HTC and they said there OEM’s will be able to add to the phone. So i hope HTC will make a stunner UI to go over 7 because right now the (Sense UI on 6.5) is going neck and neck with the (Win Mo UI on 7) in terms of how you access info.
2. Once again there is going to be no adobe flash support by default (even thou they said they will not object to the OEM adding it after.) so i really hope HTC adds it because the Core of the OS looks good but there is still allot of room for improvement. What i see their cold have been on the market last year and i would have said WoW, not the end of this year 2010.
3. It was said that all phones will have capacitive screens & 3 physical keys (start, search and back) well....... the HD2 does not have a search Key, so where will that put us in terms of an upgrade ROM? Will HTC find a way around that, like how they found a way to make a capacitive screen work on 6.5 which has no capacitive support? Or will they say there is going to be no win mo 7 upgrade for the HD2? Hummmmm.... we will just have to wait and see.
Just been using the HD2 for 2 days now. Previously I had an iphone 3GS. I was bored because of the limitations of the iphone like not being able to pick my own ring tone, unless I buy it from apple and etc. And yes I know about jailbreak and all, but you know what I mean. HD2 is better in many aspects, fantastic screen resolution, BIG screen, better looking design, open file system etc. But it is also a poor imitation of the iphone. Scrolling list, pictures, look the same but not feel the same, not intuitive at all. The worst is the touch screen, it is made of 0,5 cm2 sized touch spots, you can not touch anything small without touching everything around. Especially the links in a web page without zooming in first. You can not scroll thru your contact list without accidentally dialling someone. I can't tell how annoying the touch screen is if you are used to iphone. I expected much better from HTC for this price label.

Just saw ur post regarding ROM upgrade of 'uk based' cell phones, i've been facing same problem regarding upgrade and it can't let me upgrade because of so called 'digital signature' as i am on o2.
Can you tell me the detail procedure how to change from SPL to HSPL?
thanks in advance!
Looks like WM7 want have customization for the likes of HTC, Samsung, Sony, etc.?????? I think that's why WM6.5 will still be available in conjunction with WM7. So it looks like U as a consumer will have to decide on user customization (WM6.5) or WM7 which is not fully customizable??????? Guess we will have to see what HTC will do for the HD2. I hope the HD2 will get the update to WM7???? All phones will have WM7 (doesn't say Business or Media WM7 versions) experience. What it looks like will diff the WM7 experience is the Hardware that the manufactures will bring to the table????? What do U guys and gals think of WM7??????? It's HERE..........

Hopefully that want happen..??? I saw give it a try????????

Well went back to HTC stock ROM 1.66. Miri ROM's and Duttys ROM's weren't stable enough on my phone for everyday use. The Miri ROM v2 was working, but couldn't sync properly. I sync with my Laptop alot, and I need that function to work 100%. Miri needs to work on that in the ROM. Other than that it worked fine........SAW video of WM7, and I cannot wait for it. See my previous post for link, and CHECK it out???????? Post wait U think of WM7?????????????????????????
