Ladies and gentleman, GSMarena visitors, readers and friends...I would just like to say that, without the help of Anthony, none of this would of been possible!
For those of you that missed my entire ordeal, I purchased my HTC HD2 from O2 Germany, unlocked. The only problem was that it was all fully rendered on a all German ROM. I asked for help in somehow figuring out a way to change it from German to English, and Mr. Anthony came to the rescue. Again, thanks a million buddy!
It's been a long and hard 4 day journey my friend, mixed with crappy wifi internet access, trips to the O2 store, many stops at local S'bucks cofe shops, internet cafes and a whole lot of headaches... but we did it! God I now feel like the posibilities are endless! Now all I need to do is find a friend who can give me a UK S/N number so I can freely update from the UK HTC Website...hmmm...Anthony, I consider you my friend :)

Mark, 23 Jan 2010BTW, for any readers of these posts - despite the music player problem I've had no other probl... morei just purchased Monster Turbine in-ear headphones. after extensive research (mostly reviews and user reviews) i found them to be the best bang for ur buck. i really wanted to go high end, so first i checked bose but didnt find anything interesting. also tried altec lansing but for some odd reason their in ears didnt get good reviews. i never thought of monster but after reading many solid reviews i decided to go for them. only problem was they cost abt $180! but then i checked amazon us and they had them for almost 100! SOLD!
will report on quality once i have them in my hands... errrrr... ears..
Anthony, 23 Jan 2010looks right
come back when you're doneI'm stuck on step K
" k. Double click the SSPL_RUU.exe in the folder you just put it in.
At this point you should see a modified but familiar HD2 flashing interface.
When the phone goes into booth loader mode you will see the coloured bands and the word “USB”."
I'm not getting any colored bands, and once I double click on the SSPL_RUU.exe, it expands and gives me more icons.
What does appear however, is a PDA Phone ROM Update Utility for the PDA Phone
I have to click on the "I understand and agree" etc...and then it gives me the option of going NEXT. I'm I doing ok? What about the lack of my HD2 screen showing the tri color bands and it not saying "USB"...my computer says that it's connected to my phone via ActivSync...HELP!!!

you hand that one problem a long time now.
there is only one thing left for you to do.
(dont take it badly)
get rid of that OLD A-SS O2 ROM. update to a factory unlocked HTC rom.
O2 and the rest, like (V....) don't look like they have plans for giving software update for the HD2's they sold.

For those HD2 users who have purchased alternative earphones/headphones, what would you recommend to other owners?
Anthony, 23 Jan 2010before you go home download the sspl again. I don't realy trust your net at home lol.lol...too late, I already got home once I saw your comment of downloading the SSPL once again. But I can try. The SSPL_RUU.zip is 755 KB...does that sound about right?
As for the ROM...it's 190 MB. Does that look about right?
I'm going to attempt the operation, I got the instructions you posted for "Liverpool" wish me luck!
Anthony, 23 Jan 2010did you ever format the card from the phone's card formating app?Hi Anthony, yeah I've previously reformatted the card on two occasions - both times whilst using the phone's own card formatting option. Following your previous advice I added the MP3s in groups of 7 to 10 at a time, with a view to adding a total of nearly 500 MP3s but it crashed after just 40 or so MP3s were added (!) albeit to just one folder despite tagging the files as suggested in that Vodafone pae I linked earlier..

when i go into gps settings there gt programs (com4), ha... moreA basic under-standing of how GPS works.
Your phone communicates with the The Global Positioning System via a network of orbiting GPS satellites. this communication is done directly (line of sight) so there is no need for a cell signal. When your phone makes the connection with 3 or more of these orbiting satellites your position can be determined. The more satellites your phone connects to, the more accurate the info will be.
Because it is line of sight and the phone has limited power. Best/fastest results are achieved outdoors. don't expect it to work (well or at all) in a cave or very dense building.
