You have no rom to put on.
And I don't think cooked roms are ready for every day use as yet. Allot of stuff are still missing from them.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477... moreYou can use the phone as a memory stick.
When you plug it into a pc with the USB cable, a menu comes up. The second option in the menu will let the PC see the memory card as if it was a flash drive.
Try it now on your PC and see.
Anthony, 22 Jan 2010Could you go by a friend to download the rom? What do you think of the following?
You think if I followed the insructions exactly, it would work? What exactly is the difference between your way and this way other than SSPL vs. HSPL?
No HD2 firmware updates on Vodafone UK Ever???
I have no idea if this is true but I've experienced this on another handset from another network in the past. I had to debrand it then get the upgrades from the manufacturers website.
Read for yourself and then decide:
This is why I hate branded handsets. You're at the mercy of the networks when it comes to ROM upgrades.
However with the ROMS for the HD2 I think that the most actual branding that any UK operator has done is to add a wallpaper at startup, add the GPRS, MMS and voicemail settings and perhaps remove an app that they didn't want.
It should be possible for Vodafone UK to tell HTC to allow their serial numbers to download future ROMS after which it would be up to users to find a way to install it.
Anthony, 22 Jan 2010Could you go by a friend to download the rom? Unfortunately I don't know anyone here in Munich. I've thought of going to an internet cafe and trying to download it there, but that would require me to purchase a memory stick.
It's very frustrating. I've been trying to download it since yesterday. I'm starting to think that I have to wait until I get back home to the States, sometime in February, but I don't want to wait that long. It's driving me crazy. Please advise.
key apps to download out of the box is bsb tweaks sktools or clean.ram, if your sticking with the originals unless you e perience any issues dow.load the hot fixes. activate my phone which syncs all contacts message although need backup software for the applications. very useful when flashing
does anyone know where to get any games for it? i would really appreciate replies. i have got some from www.pda4you.org.
HTC Have released a new ROM, Version: 1.66.707.1.
Right now it's on the SEA site but it should be on local country and regional sites soon.
So far the only information on what it fixes seems to be SMS... again, "Keeping in touch has always been very important, and this update delivers fast and reliable SMS messaging."
However I'm sure it fixes (or tries to fix) much, much more than that. Anyway let's hope that this one at the very least finally puts the SMS issue to bed.
Also I think that this fix will include a roll-up of all the other fixes.
I got mine. So far so good.
Here are my little problems so far:
1.Bluetooth - my laptop cant detect / find my HD2 upon completing all the pairing and stuff.
2.My wireless connection always turns on without my knowledge (e.g GPRS) even I turned off the data connections on the Settings menu.
3. Im having a hardtime downloading and installing IM messaging for mobile like NIMBUZZ and IFRING. I cant proceed to the installation part of the NIMBUZZ because my device always notifies me something like "downloading of nimbuzz was unsuccessful" when i click the icon of the downloaded NIMBUZZ files to start the installing. I tried 6-10 times installing it but i always fail even the "downloading" part was completed.
For the FRING, i successfully downloaded and instaled it to my device. However, when im about to launch it (by clicking the FRINGE icon on my menu)it wont launch. the icon just got highlighted but it wont launch.
Can you please help me to solve these problems. Thank you guys.
Anonymous, 22 Jan 2010 Anthony,
any answer on my keypad issue ?No i do not.
But you could try cleaning up your XT9.
Find this program in your windows folder "eT9MyWords" you can make a short cut to it in your start menu if you like,
Or do a factory reset. Maybe the keyboard you put on corrupted something.
