Anthony, 21 Jan 2010I will help you change the rom but I want to know, in your case it will most likely permanentl... moreOk...this is what Ive got so far:
1. 7-Zip downloaded on my laptop
2. "Official WM6.5 Updated ROM - HTC HD2 (Leo) - English Europe Version" and the name of the file looks like this:
does that look right?
3. Iv'e also managed to download the ActiveSync 4.5 from the Microsoft website...and I did successfully sync with my HD2 as a test run
Here's some more info:
My HD2 that I got from O2 Germany doesn't have any branding or O2 specific software on it...so in order to trick the dudes in suits in case I do have a problem with my phone...do you think I can just download and keep it save the following from htcpedia:
"Official WM6.5 Updated ROM - HTC HD2 (Leo) - German Version"
or would they still know?
Also, what is the difference between HSPL and SSPL...or am I getting ahead of myself? Sorry!
And to answer your earlier question: I am running Windows XP Home Edition on my laptop.
Other than that...I am awaiting further instructions captain!
I'm currently trying to decide between the Nokia N900 and the HTC HD2...
Which phone would you guys recommand and why?
Just ordered some phone covers for the HD2, to change up the look (Red, Black, White, Blue, Orange, and Clear). It covers the back and sides. Ordered off ebay. only cost $10.99....Will post how they look on HD2?????........
High Tech, 21 Jan 2010How is that bluetooth device (music) working. Thinking of buying one???You want a review of my use of the “Jabra BT3030” on the HD2 or you just want to know how good Bluetooth stereo is on this phone?
Kacjer, 21 Jan 2010I would prefer HD, it's more handy, graphic resolution is more than enough.

I finally got my own HD2!!! I'm very excited about it, but then again, after months... moreI will help you change the rom but I want to know, in your case it will most likely permanently void your warranty. Because I don’t know where you can get a backup copy of your “O2 Germany Rom” that you will need to put back on if you r ever have to send it back and want to use the warranty.
To speed things up, go back to about page 10 and read from there the conversations between me and “Liverpool”. I helped him do a rom change and you will need the same files. So click the links and download the Necessary Files.
When you are done, let me know what you got. What you had problems getting, and where exactly did you have the problem.
What version of windows are you running on your PC? XP, (vista, 7 34bit or 64bit)
no stylus included...
how to draw something using note application???
T_X, 21 Jan 2010Dude, HD2 is way better, the problem is the $$$I would prefer HD, it's more handy, graphic resolution is more than enough.
HD2 is more for old folks who needs big screen phone.
I finally got my own HD2!!! I'm very excited about it, but then again, after months of reading, researching and talking to you guys, anyone would be!
The phone is a pleasure to hold, handle and work with. I do have some problems and I would greatly appreciate it if you could help!
Firstly, I already tried to read through all the comments and posts and even use the search function...but I'm still not entirely sure of what to do. So, here is my situation.
I bought the HD2 from O2 Germany, and I knew the phone was going to be in german language, but I thought I could simply change it in the phone's options menu...WRONG! I know there are ways to change it, but I don't know the steps. Basically, I would SUPER DUPER APPRECIATE IT if you could say:
STEP 1. Do this
STEP 2. Do this
I am so lost and confused that I cant even connect the HD2 to my laptop correctly! Just imagine me as a beginner in the world of computers/smart phones.
I did however find my ROM Version on my phone, and I was thinking that you might want to know it for the help/advice you might be giving me. Here it is:
18.104.22.168 (71294) GER
I also created a special email address where I receive all the help that I can with regards to the HD2, so as to not overflood the net/forums... it's
I REALLY need to change the language from German to English so that I can actually understand and be able to work with it. I already tried the tech people from O2 here in Germany and they have no clue of how to do it. I also heard so many things about HardSPL and Gold Card...etc. which really confuse me. I don't even know how to install something on the phone...so as I previously said, please keep in mind that I would FOREVER APPRECIATE a step by step TO DO list, from the VERY FIRST thing that I need to do, down to the last...and I promise I will do my very best to help others in the future as well!
Thank you Anthony in advance for any and all your help!
Dr. Firaz, 21 Jan 2010Whats the max storage capacity of HD2? Is it 16GB?64GB
T_X, 21 Jan 2010Dude, HD2 is way better, the problem is the $$$And what about the storage capacity?
Dr. Firaz, 21 Jan 2010Confused between HD2 and touch HD. Which one to go for and why?Dude, HD2 is way better, the problem is the $$$
Now is been 10 days I am using HD2, experience is very intriguing. Screen Size, touch interface, UI and 1 G Snap-dragon and not to mention boutique styled.... simply overwhelming !
Just I face some short with the battery longevity, all time connected to push mails, messenger, calls & surfing and battery see-off in 4 - 5 hours; whereas if you are into just calls + emails +/or msgr then you can almost go through the whole working day. And any intensive use, well then make sure you have a charge point.
Fact is a phone with such good feature, speed and utility is hard to keep away from any intensive use or in general case, off your fingers.
Only thing am missing in HD2 is a 1400 mA battery that could have fed in some extra talk-time/usage...
I bought this phone after much study and really glad upgraded to HD2. However point of consideration before purchase, camera quality, battery life to suit your need, handling...
Exploit her and is a beast and hold it, Gentle as a Leaf :)
