This breaks it down even better. Worth a read:
Looks like it will be two versions of WM7 (Business & Media Edition). Read the excerts I pulled from site:
"It turns out that Windows Phone Seven will most likely appear in two versions: Business Edition and Media Edition. Business Edition is said to be a stripped down version of Windows Phone Seven, and WMExperts believes it'll be an ideal version for third-party overlays like HTC's Sense UI. Interestingly, WMExperts suggests that this is also the version that'll arrive for the HTC HD2 in late 2010.
Windows Phone Seven Media Edition, however, is said to be released further down the road. It's still not clear what Media Edition will offer exactly, but WMExperts reports that it should support Silverlight, Mediaroom, XBox Live, as well as Zune Music integration. In other words, all the stuff you've really hoped Microsoft is working to cram into their Windows Phone platform.
It also looks like Windows Phone Seven will set a new standard as far as high-resolution screens are concerned, and according to specifications of the new LG Apollo it'll be WXGA 1280 by 720 pixels. That basically means Microsoft could beat Intel's Moblin 2.1 platform by far in that regard, as the upcoming LG GW990 will have a screen resolution of 1024 by 480 pixels. It's worth noting that WMExperts hasn't gotten a confirmation that the LG Apollo specifications are exact.

Found info on WM7 and what specs you will need to run. It also gives an idea on what it will look like (Zune HD). Also it said what phones it will be released on LG and HTC. The LG phone specs are killer. See link: (Might have to look into the LG phone. Saving now for this):
How does the acive sync / mobile device centre work when transferring files .
is it like itunes where one has to chose the folders for photos , music etc
i.e if i want photos to sync with the iphone then i have to chose the folder on my pc where the photos exist.
is it the same with active sync . can i chose a folder on my pc where i store all the files( i.e hotfixes , movies etc ) that i want to sync with the phone ? what files will it automatically sync and from which folder will they be when i connect the phone in active sync???
Hurray the HD2 has finally arrived in Australia but unfortunately only through Telstra Australia. Very disappointed, I have a number of aging MS phones running enterprise applications in my business and was looking forward to the release of the HD2. Telstra Australia is the last company on the earth I will deal with, they lie, arrogant, rude and have the worst customer service on earth. So unfortunately I will not be upgrading to HTC devices and will look for an alternative solution.
Anthnoy, 19 Jan 2010Ok now you should have The 1.48.405.2 rom And installed 7-zip SSPL_RUU.zip Your phone setu... moreits all over,,many thanks Anthony,,i realy appreciate ur help,,once again thank u,without u i couldnt do it.
Liverpool, 18 Jan 2010i got the fileOk now you should have
The 1.48.405.2 rom
And installed 7-zip
Your phone setup to sync with your pc
And a copy of the rom you already have on the phone (for back up purposes)
Now let’s start
a. Right click the “RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship.exe” file
b. Go to 7-zip in the popup menu
c. Click on “Extract Files...” and click “ok” in the interface that comes up.
d. Go to the new “RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship” folder that was made from the extracted files and delete all files but 1. The one you want to keep is “RUU_signed.nbh”
e. Right click on “SSPL_RUU.zip”
f. Go to 7-zip in the popup menu
g. Click on “Extract Files..” and click “ok” in the interface that comes up.
h. Go to the new SSPL_RUU folder and copy the “SSPL_RUU.exe” file
i. Past it in the “RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship” folder (there should only have 2 files in there now)
j. Connect your phone to your PC in sync mode (make certain it shows up as connected.)
k. Double click the SSPL_RUU.exe in the folder you just put it in.
At this point you should see a modified but familiar HD2 flashing interface.
When the phone goes into booth loader mode you will see the coloured bands and the word “USB”.
If you don’t see “USB” on the phone and your PC is not loading drivers unplug the data cable and plug it back in. The drivers should load then and bring up the word “USB”.
Exit the SSPL_RUU.exe and run it again when the phone is still in the booth loader mode with the word “USB” on it.
The rest is just like when you flashed the rom you got from HTC.
Note: you may want to backup your data with “Myphone” or “PIM backup” before you do the process above, so you can put it back on, when you are done.
Ones the flash is completed, go look at your new rom number and remember this is the number you will have to download hotfix files for (but i should be the same files as you used on the rom installed on the phone before the flash because they are both 1.48------ and so far hotfix files only look at the first 3 numbers of a rom.)
Let me know how things go
vish, 18 Jan 2010on the htc india site there is asia 1 and asia 2 for downloading the hotfixes. anybody know... moreit doesnt matter, thats just the mirror youre going to download from, in the end u will get the same file.
Guys, when you have so much money to bay luxury expensive phone and wast your money for apps that want mean much to you than just to try ones, you could be good today to help Haitian people by donating few €€$$ here http://www.ClintonBushHaitiFund.org/
They need your support.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970A simple solution: Get a $100 Nokia as your 2nd phone.
Honestly, I haven't missed video calls. The ones I made with my F480 were only for emergency when I had to show someone something and discuss it live. Since then I had an N97 and never needed to make a video call. Anyways, most phones have C R A P CIF/QCIF cameras for video calls. So if you absolutely NEED video calling, get that $100 Nokia and keep it in your other pocket.
Tom Tee, 18 Jan 2010Great Phone, but still waiting on Fring to support WM6.5 and this model phone. Also, theme of... moreTom,
You can try Nimbuzz for Windows Mobile; there are also native versions of Skype and MSN Messenger (IM only). Voice calls on Nimbuzz or Skype work very well with the HD2.
Liverpool, 18 Jan 2010yes i didStep 5
From the link below.
When you click to download the file you will be asked to log in.
If you are not a member of XDA

Frankie, 18 Jan 2010Dear All, I have a BIG problem when using this phone.
If I am connected to WI-FI but I'm no... moreAre you sure your Wi-Fi settings are correct? Can you access the internet with another device?
Check to see that you have a green tick on your access point in the phone connection settings. Even so, that only says you're connected to the access point.
Are you sure that the router allows you out to the Internet and doesn't have IP or MAC address filtering?
You can force the phone to use Wi-fi connections by setting "Phone" to off in the wireless connection settings.
on the htc india site there is asia 1 and asia 2 for downloading the hotfixes.
anybody knows what to chose for India : asia 1 or 2 ?
Seylan, 18 Jan 2010Hey HD2 owners what does the retail box contain? How it feels to use such a large phone? Is it... morethe retail box contains:
2gb micro sd card
charger + usb sync cable
sexy leather pouch
and u could have probably figured this out by watching any unboxing video.
yes it is definitely worth buying.
Great Phone, but still waiting on Fring to support WM6.5 and this model phone. Also, theme of the vendors listed under "check price." They refuse to answer phone calls, refuse to ship to APO addresses, so they do NOT support the troops. Don't take my word for it--vendors such as Mobile City Online, SelectGSM, and Plemix are impossible to work with. But for a few dollars more, you can find this and many other phones at NewEgg, TigerDirect and other major online KNOWN name brands!!! These guys do practice customer service, and will make up for the difference in price!!!
