Don’t matter where the installer was it was still going to go to the device a.k.a hard drive. So leave the installer on the memory card a.k.a flash drive
Or you can delete it now if you like once you have a backup copy on your PC
Normal programs fall under Applications but Programs that run in the background all the time are called Prosesses.
If you want to see what “Processes” you have on the phone ‘
Got to “settings”
Tap “all settings”
Tap on the “task Manager” the one with the icon like a heart monitor
There you will see your running Applications just like your PC and here is where you truly close a program to free up some program memory.
Now you will see all the Processes running on the phone.
Let me know when you are ready to go on to the 3rd one?
i purchased htc hd 2 from chennai univercell telecommunications , but i feel worry . so friends dont purchase these model . bye
I got my HD2 in early December, from the first batches. I moved up from Touch which is an excellent and user friendly phone to HD2 thinking it would be an even better phone. I have been experiencing nothing but problems with HD2 and either I am doing everything wrong or the phone has series problems. It crashes all the time, is no longer sending and receiving text messages, my voice echos when speaking on the phone, settings keep on changing, no longer connects to Actve Sync and MyPhone and much more. I have imstalled 2 patches b ut the problems gets worse by the day. Anybody experiencing similar problems?
Amir, 26 Dec 2009where can i find the application for HTC HD2?just search for windows mobile 6.5 applications (google). if u have the hd2 u can use the marketplace application that comes preinstalled.

same as on a high def tv, 1920x1080 redolution on a high def tv is stated as 1080p not 1920p.

does it mean that it will automatically install to hard drive? . or does that mean that i should stop and do it again by copying the installer cab file to hard drive and run it and install it there ..?
i see the sd card information in "settings ".shows me how much space i have left it what memory
The 3rd mem ur talking about is RAM... right?, which determines the speed of the device and the programs that are launched .
so s2u2 launches when the phone starts so it should be installed on hard drive . but what about bsb tweaks ? should that be installed on hard drive as well or on flash like skyfire ..does bsb tweaks also run on startup. how do i check if a program is running in the background ? on vista i can see it via task manager but how is it possible on the phone ?
correct me if i am wrong somewhere.

Lee2307, 26 Dec 2009Just a quick question for u lads; im thinking of gettin this phone but i need to know if it lo... morewell, that depends on the size of ur hands. i have fairly large hands and find no problem operating this phone whatsoever in portrait or landscape mode with one hand or 2.
its size actually allows u to operate the onscreen keyboard in portrait mode with ease! the landscape keyboard will not leave much screen to look at!
but i can see how ppl with small hands will have problems operating this phone with one hand.

So rather than just going with what you read or see some wear, i will do some test myself.

Just a quick question for u lads; im thinking of gettin this phone but i need to know if it looks/feels funny in the hand being such a big phone and if calling is uncomfortable with it due to its size.. otherwise its a beast of a phone, amazing!.. thanks for any replies :)
The HTC HD2 is a sad phone. Its Snapdragon processor has the ability to process HD 720p video. However, this has been disabled by its Windows Mobile operating system. It now only operates at a much lower resolution of 480p.
The camera has a well-reported defect that makes the center of every photo go pink. Search the web for "HTC HD2 pink camera" and you'll find lots of articles on it. HTC released a software hotfix, that you can download and install. However HTC's fix doesn't work for video, so all units still carry this defect when shooting video.
HTC will soon release a similar phone called the HTC Passion, which runs Android. The Android version can capture and play 720p HD video, and has an AMOLED screen (instead of the TFT LCD screen).
The multi touch is out of this world, programs runs smooth and perfect and the router works perfect i no longer have to conect my stupid usb to share the internet..i give this device 100%.
well done htc.

NE, 25 Dec 2009hey no hard feelings anthony, you know you're the brainz here (when it comes to the hd2). so h... moreWhat i know of smart phones is from using them. Reading and trying stuff.
I have been digging in PC's over 18 years now so I’m not afraid to dig in a phone.
And all my friend don’t have the same phone, i have access to iphone’s, blackbarry’s, Nokia’s Samsung’s and allot of nock offs, Lol. Not every phone in a brand but the ones that is popular here. I’m the only one i know that opted to import from the UK. If people want to import, most of them do it from the U.S. because that is what they see on Cable T.V.
This is good for me; make reselling my phone after very easy :-)
NE, 25 Dec 2009hey no hard feelings anthony, you know you're the brainz here (when it comes to the hd2). so h... moreI got my HD2 with the first batch in early November
But i have been using windows mobile from back in windows mobile 5
I had a Qtek S200 first then went on to HTC Touch HD and now the HTC HD2
Before windows mobile i had a Nokia 3650 got is stolen.
Had a SE w600 it fell apart at the hinge after only one month of me using it... that’s why i don’t like phones with moving parts.
As for crashing the HD2..... The crashing i had was in the first week of using the HD2. I was testing old software made for wm5, wm6, and wm6.1 on it to see which ones will still work and which ones will crash it.

That is how you know a program is really installed on the memory card a.k.a flash drive.
When it is not in, that program will not work but will start back working when you put the card back in.
You should also take notice that even with the skyfire install on the memory card a.k.a flash drive it still show up in the uninstall list. This is because that list shows all the programs you the user have installed on “storage memory” (does not matter if it is the card a.k.a flash drive or internal a.k.a. Hard drive.) and both of them are “storage memory”
But there is a 3rd memory that most don’t think about and it is temporary/program memory. This is the one that works along with the CPU just like memory in a PC. It’s not storage for long term at all. Its memory the phone uses to actual run a program when you are using it but i’ll get into that more a next time.
Now that you know, programs that are installed on the memory card a.k.a flash drive don’t work when you take the card out, you should also know that..... to the phone, the card looks like it is out when you connect it to a PC in “disk drive” mode, so you will also have the same result then as well.
Most people will just have their installers on the memory card a.k.a flash drive and install everything on the internal memory a.k.a. hard drive. But when you get allot of programs you will soon run out of space on the internal memory because it was never fully empty to begin with. All the programs the phone came with and windows mobile is installed on it.
So the best thing to do is know what to install where in order to conserve on the limited internal memory a.k.a hard drive.
And this is how it goes.
When a program is installing and it does not ask... device or storage card. That means it is design only to work from the device a.k.a hard drive and that is where it is going no matter what you do.
If it does ask “Device or storage card” then you need to think what kind of program it is.
Does it auto start with the phone?
Does it need to run in the background all the time?
Am i using it to patch or edit Hardware on the phone?
If you answer yes to any of those 3 questions then it need to be installed on the “device” a.k.a hard drive, to prevent getting an error when the card is out or the phone is in “Dick Drive” mode.
A game, web browser, media player, e.g. none of them start when you start the phone. None of them need to be running in the background when you not using them and none of them are used to edit the phone. So all of them can be installed on the memory card a.k.a flash drive.
There is one more type of program but we will get to that when i talk about the 3rd type of memory.
For now you can go to
Tap on “SD card & phone storage”
To see the total size, the used space and the free space of the 3 types of memory
Device storage a.k.a. hard drive
Device Program a.k.a. memory (that runs like PC memory)
SD Card memory a.k.a. flash drive.
Let me know when you are ready to move on.
