the thing is no one really knows how many apps there is for windows mobile because they are not all kept in one place. market please is trying to do that but it is sucking big time right now. but not because you can't find it for windows mobile means windows mobile don't have it. it just means you can't find it :-)

If you need more apps to make your phone usable, you need another phone (HD2)?????? Actually the HD2 is ready to use out of the box without having to add more apps (100,000 what a joke). I would rather have less apps that I know will do multi functions, not "We Have An App For That".

HD2 is a business phone period w/multimedia (video, music, photo's, camcorder, GPS, etc.). It's a mini computer in the palm of your hand. Windows phone's will always be a mini computer phone. Can do just about everything my PC or laptop can do on my HD2................

Micro office does not open .docx files form office. Safari does not do well with java script, so I will not even be able to log in to my online banking account. Internet explorer on wm 6.5 has flash lite and half the flash pages don’t open and run right in it. I had to use “skyfire” browser. Does the iPhone have that one in its 100,000 apps. So I can tell my friends to go look for it? I am not talking from what I read some where, I’m talking from what I have tried my self. And the phones had to be jail broken for them to work with our sims here.

Emails great, tomtoms extraordinary touch screen is the most responsive battery sucks tho. I moved from a htc hd myself and the difference for me in quality of the overall user experiance outrageous. Now I don't waste half my life trying to install the maps on tomtom or anything cynical. i know it's not as powerful as the hd2 but it all works how it should and to a good quality and we all know apple make real quality sh**

no gps app will work on the first iPhone.
and even the 3g and 3gs which is like the same phone have some apps that will not work on the 3g
the last 2 iPhone are like upgrads of the first one. so It's like picking which version of the one phone do you want. that is not how it is with windows mobile.... you have real choice to find one that suites you not just upgrade.

A smart phone for me is about getting work done on the go and being able to add new features to a old phone as time passes. its not so much about making calls, because let's face it any cheap phone can make calls.
I could've gotten an iPhone after I sold my touch HD. but which of the iPhone 100,000 apps was going to sync with my ms office, let me do online banking, watch the technology shows that are in flash online. mms with my wife that has a Nokia? so in my eyes most of that 100,000 is useless. iPhone does have some really nice games, make that a lot of nice games but if it was portable games I was looking for I would have gotten a PSP.
I tried to instal .net 3.5 after running .msi file on laptop (mobile winmo 6.1 connected in sync mode) ..msi Application runs till finish in laptop but i get message on mobile of installation unsuccessful.
Anthony, 21 Dec 2009I know you are not trying to tell us that all iPhone apps are good and useful....Not at all but there are over 100,000 and there are some really cracking apps which are alot better than winmo apps, and yes some are very useful. and they all work for all the iphones no awkward compatability issues. Sorry if this offends you in some bizarre geek jelousy kind of way.

my question is a bit freak... does anybody know the home screen clock type of this phone? i quess this clock is inspired of an "analog desk clock"... i am looking for infos about this analog clock... thank you very much...
vish, 21 Dec 2009how do u get the iphone style lock that u mentioned ?First thing... does your phone still auto key lock as soon as the screen turns off or did you manage to disable that? Because if i still auto key locks putting on S2U2 will just make you have to slide to unlock then do the unlocking that the phone does every single time the screen turns off and that will be a bit too much. But if you did disable the auto key lock, then make Google search your friend and look for it....... S2U2
By the way... you are new to windows mobile? You did know that the phone has a lock that uses a passkey to get back in that you can setup?
Very good to use to keep people from digging in your phone when you not looking. The thing is, in this HD2 the time delay for that key lock in the settings does not work till you use a 3rd party app to disable the auto lock. I used “BsB Tweaks” to disable the auto lock because i use the key lock to keep my wife out of my phone lol
You can use Google to find BsB Tweaks as well.
Can someone kindly tell me where is a good place to dl the apps for this handset as i will be receiving my set on wednesday.
