ris, 23 Nov 2009Hi guys
Anthony and high tech are endorsing winmo even though none of the windows mobile a... moreI use windows mobile phone because I use my phone to assist me with my work. Not just entertainment.
I need Microsoft word compatibility to read and edit .docx files.
I need Microsoft Excel to read and edit my Time sheet on the go.
And I need the be able to sync with outlook both at work and home for task and calendar appointment, so I don’t double book my time and that I make shore I get everything done without having to keep all what I have to do in my head.
A smartphone is not just about web browsing for me.
True full flash would have been nice but that not all I need.
I use a measurement converter for volumes, lengths, areas, I need a currencies converter that can be updated on the go.
I want to be able to use msn messenger to talk to my friends because it was blocked on the office PS’s
And I want a real radio not an online radio.
I want a call recorder for all the people I have to do work with that say one thing on the phone and then say “I never said that” when you are there in person “it’s called covering your as-s”
I want to be able to take notes when I’m in a call.
I want to be able to review .PDF drawings that are sent to me via office or personal e-mail.
I also use Google maps from time to time if I have to find a site I have never been to before.
A blackberry could have done the trick but I not going to pay more for the blackberry service for something I can do for free on my windows mobile.
Future apps library for nokia n900 may be good but I need these things now. And when a phone comes out that can offer more of the things I need I will just change then. Not just sit and wait, and not buy a phone, and say I waiting for the phone that has "everything" I need. Because what I really would like to have is one that could do everything I do on my PC including run Revit and Burn DVD but still be small enough to hold in one hand.
Anthony and high tech are endorsing winmo even though none of the windows mobile are no where near perfect. They are doing so may be bcoz they are using same.
you can never have web browsing experiance from any windows mobile as u can get from nokia n900. So why pay high if windows mobile cant satisfy basic need of browsing????
gsmarena review of nokia n900 says " the most important features of the browser - its Flash support. Nokia N900 comes with full Adobe 9.4 Flash and not the Flash Lite that most other handets support(e.g windows mobile or symbian).
We have never seen a handset handle flash content as smoothly and quickly as the N900. If the web sites you browse have a lot of Flash elements you should definetely check out the Nokia N900 when looking for your next handset."
So dont waste your hard earned money for this touch hd2 expensive brick which cannot give us basic things like complete browsing experiance like nokia n900. Plus at present nokia n900 has atleast more than 300 free apps.
Imagine the future apps library for nokia n900(linux based and open source).

And after you do that, when installing programs, the ones you think you will not use every day install them on the memory card.
“dciBattery” and “QwertyMemory” is also a good program to have it lest you know your battery life in more than 4 increments and it show how much program memory you are using (memory used to run programs not the memory used to store data or install programs) knowing this is good because when this memory goes down to about 15% it’s time to go in “task manager” and close some programs because windows will start to become unstable at this point.
Here is the link, download the file from the mirror download. Unzip it copy the 2 .exe files to the windows/StartUp folder on the phone and run it there.

Anonymous, 23 Nov 2009Omnia II is a Great phone and contender to the HD2. For all you people who think the HD2 is th... moreOmnia 2 is a great phone, no doubt.
The only thing that lets it down for me is the resistive touch screen, I cannot see my self carrying a stylus around, its not very "smart"
But Omnia 2 is Resistive TouchScreen. Also Samsung is not the Best of the smartphone companies.
Omnia II is a Great phone and contender to the HD2. For all you people who think the HD2 is the best, read this by GSM Arena review of the HD2:
The final threat for the HD2 success on the Windows Mobile ring is the more lightweight Samsung I8000 Omnia II, which should definitely be the weapon of choice for all those of you that find the HD2 just too big.
It might not have the brute processing power of the HD2, nor the RAM count, but the actual handling and response are perfect. The 3.7" AMOLED screen, another fully customized UI, huge internal storage, DivX/XviD support out of the box and all kind of software goodies make the I8000 Omnia II a force to be reckoned with in the smartphone field this holiday season. Not to mention it’s got a nicely capable camera and it currently goes for some 150 euro less than the HTC HD2.
iphone is not for kid itouch is for kids..... hehehhee but i like this HTC HD2
High Tech, 22 Nov 2009I noticed the same thing on my phone. I get a little pink on my pictures too. Need to see how ... moreMy unit has the pink in photo's and camcorder as well. The pink shows right in the middle of the screen. And if you're in the dark taking photo's the whole screen shows a dark pink to red. THIS is not good at all. It also shows pink when recording video too..... Will send back to seller to get it replaced like HTC said to do.......This is a manufacture defect in the phone.....I would suggest all who have the first batch check your phones........
The phone on whole is awsome but how do I get to start it as it freezes on the user after every third or fourth use. I changed to the windows classic lock it worked fine for a littl while but again started freezing. Called the vendor he also complaines the same. Am I doing something wrong or is there any way I can unlock it permantly. Advise please.
I take back most of what I said about the HD2 in my ealrier posting - I've got used to it now and it's pretty fab. A few annoying bits (you can only snooze alarms and reminders for 5 mins at a time rather than the multiple options on its predecessor; it takes severeal attempts to get Outlook to set up properly; and if you're out of a major urban area, the 'my location' function just doesn't update properly). But everything else is good. It's fast, powerful, untuitive, comfortable, and has a much improved messaging experience. The battery isn't quite as longlasting as on the Touch HD but given the job it has drivign such a powerful product, it's not bad. The screen is fantastic and its size makes it the best of this type of phone anywhere. Hopefully it'll be able to take an upgrade to mobile 7 when it comes out and hopegfully the number of apps available will increase fast as HTC and Windows start to be seen as serious players in this area. It's just a shame it doesn't have the Bubble Breaker game!
why this has no front camera?
how can a 3G phone does not have a camera for visio call
Neutral_Guy, 22 Nov 2009Refer to link , http://www.mobinauts.com/topic/109461-htc-confirms-camera-hardware-defect-in-t... moreI noticed the same thing on my phone. I get a little pink on my pictures too. Need to see how the photo prints. Don't know if I will exchange, because of the hassle of sending back...... That's a BIG downside on HTC part with this phone. I still have my Omnia 2 which takes great pictures..........You also get the pick on the camcorder too.... NOT GOOD HTC..........
Will not buy the first release of a phone again.....Will wait til the second or third batch.......
