Anonymous, 08 Oct 2009Why they can't do TV-Out. This phone still not great, just good.what do you need tv-out for when everything can be done on the phone?
Jack, 08 Oct 2009It would be perfect with 32 GB (or at least 16 GB) of internal memory, dual sim and why not 51... moreI think the reason why it has 448MB RAM is that 64MBs are dedicated to video memory, I'm guessing here.
I've been a loyal HTC consumer for 4 years now (thanks to the cooks at xda developers that keep breathing new life to my phone). Back to this phone, it is a MAJOR leap for HTC's hardware advances with the 1GHz & other big improvements.
I always follow-up on HTC's new models & usually the improvements are very minor & hardly worth upgrading an existing HTC phone....but finally this one got a very nice all-round major upgrade!
My advice to HTC\WM-fans or other techies is to check out the benchmarking tests to understand how big of an upgrade: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=8348 (More than 3x faster than Touch HD)
wm6.5 is also a great OS, I have a beta version installed on my Touch Cruise (cooked ROM from xda developers) and it's great.
I agree the TV-Out would have been a great idea, but I guess the market is too small to have it a standard feature (think of the additional cost, space, weight, power, etc...). My HTC is the center of my life with my 700+ contacts & easily organizing through outlook my weekly average of 30 appointments, so the TV-Out would look funky for presenting a ppt on a big screen!
I'm definitely going to get this phone, but probably sometime in the new year when prices would have dropped.
Now THIS is a phone... :D
now if Experia X3 would just show up then that would be a real competition... :P
to those who complain about 65k.
1) dont post before u read comments
2) the reason is that microsoft only support 65k colors on winmo. not htc's fault. every winmo phone uses 65k colors (some might quote more but only 65k colors will be shown)
to those who say 65k colors is enough.
the human eye can see millions of colors (deal with the "bad" news) and can differentiate between 65k and 16mil. it will struggle to differentiate between 65k and 256k. however what makes it harder to notice on phones is that 65k color screens usually have had a high resolution (480x800) compared to the 16mil on smaller resolutions (240x320 - 320x480). resolution actually plays an important part in picture quality. 16mil touchscreens now hv 480x800 res and more dpi since some fit into smaller screens, meaning they hv better image quality. another factor is resistive touchscreen which uses several plastic layers and makes colors appear more faded. this applies to most winmo phones but not this one. go to this link if u dont believe me and check out the picture of skies and u can even notice the dif between 262k and 16mil. http://forum2.mobile-review.com/showthread.php?t=65584
it a great phone ever, i really want it. please release it as soon as possible. i am waiting to get it.
yes but x3 (rumored to run android) hasnt even been anounced and knowing how long it takes SE to produce their phones even after they hv announced it, we can easily say this is gna be the best winmo phone for a while unless toshiba releases the k01 soon.
Jack, 08 Oct 2009It would be perfect with 32 GB (or at least 16 GB) of internal memory, dual sim and why not 51... moreYou gotta wonder!! Why would not larger internal memory...it seems like "a small stain on a brilliant white shirt"...really annoying. otherwise, there is lots to like about it.
whoa. simply groundbreaking. but i bet it'll cost almost as much as my macbook pro. next step: computer with cellphone capabilities.
It would be perfect with 32 GB (or at least 16 GB) of internal memory, dual sim and why not 512 MB of RAM instead of 448??
