Liverpool, 21 May 2011Hi Anthony did u visit the xda site which i post to u days ago 4 American android??i have the SD Amrican droid on my phone now. and i still don't like it. Android on the SD card is just too slow for me. or maybe my SD card is just to slow for it.... and before anyone says use a NAND rom. let me know when android gets full MS office support and Garmin and i might just do that.
Anonymous, 31 May 2011how do you do the upgrade. will like to know that to help improve the battery life of mine thxAll official ROM upgrades and instructions are on the HTC web site under support for free download.
But you have to know where your phone was made for to know which HTC site country to pick and if it is a provider phone or a factory unlocked phone to know which ROM to pick. Only when you have that information correct, will your phone S/N allow you to do the download. From a PC.
The ROM on your phone now can tell you what HD2 your have
e.g. the ROM I have now is 3.14.405.2
3.14 is the ROM version 405 tells me it is a UK factory unlocked ROM. if you need any more information just let me know.
Anthony, 29 May 2011Android uses more power and windows. That is a known fact. If your ROM is not 3.14 upgrading ... morehow do you do the upgrade. will like to know that to help improve the battery life of mine thx
THe battery will last longer using windows but that OS sucks, so go for android but install it on the ROM not SD card that takes lots of battery consumption.
on ROM you will have a decent battery life.
by the way with Android the phone rocks big time
Neil, 28 May 2011Ive not updated anything on the HD2 since I purchased it..The battery sucks big time...Does up... moreit works great on android, battery life also seems to get better, but in android using internet continously will take toll of ur battery

If your ROM is not 3.14 upgrading to 3.14 will improve battery life because 3.14 has better CPU power management and more efficient radio drivers . Among other bug fixes and software updates.
Other things you can do to save battery power is.....
Turn off Bluetooth & wifi when you are not using them.
Install “XT Hack Beta2” and use it to manually switch the phone from Auto 3G to GSM 2G which uses less power.
Also use it to turn on “Optimized batter life” for better hardware management.

AnonD-9513, 28 May 2011Can anyone tell me that if we flash the rom to android, does that unlock the device to any carrier?flashing the phone with an official HTC (factory unlocked) Windows mobile 6.5, NAND Android , NAND WP7 or COOKED windows mobile 6.5 will all unlock a carrier branded locked HD2. the carrier lock is in there ROM that is removed when you do a ROM change. you only get that lock back if you flash there ROM again.
Can anyone tell me that if we flash the rom to android, does that unlock the device to any carrier?
AnonD-9455, 27 May 2011is that upgradable from Windows mobile 6.5 to 7 ??yes it can be upgraded to WP7 but it is not an official upgrade. you can get it on XDA (don't expect any tec support from microsoft or HTC when you do the unofficial upgrade)
where can i get htc hd2 rom upgrade direct download....?
please give me the link....
andi, 24 May 2011Is this ROM you are using includes Sense UI? As I mentioned, I am using exactly the same ROM a... moreIts a minimalist and fast pure Android rom. There are NAND sense UI builds check: forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=743
Nand builds are faster than SD card builds and give better battery life IMO but choose whichever you prefer. I use live wallpapers, watch anime (using mobo player, awesome app), listen to music and surf net and still get a day of battery life
