HTC Windows Mobile Touch UI Rumors

We stumbled upon the full specs of the yet unannounced HTC Iolite starring in a pre-order campaign at a popular online retailer. Visually resembling the O2 XDA Guide, the newcomer packs a 2.8-inch touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel snapper, GPS and Wi-Fi - all based on WinMo 6.1 and spiced up with TouchFLO 3D.

Expansys UK unveiled the full specs of this upcoming HTC device named (or better yet codenamed) Iolite.

As the HTC Iolite matches the specs of O2 XDA Guide that was announced recently to the last detail (except perhaps RAM), you can already guess the specifications.

The HTC Iolite is based on Qualcomm MSM7225 platform with a 528 MHz CPU, and comes with 288MB RAM (512 MB ROM). There's a 2.8-inch touch display and the whole thing runs on Windows Mobile 6.1. Just like latest HTC devices, the Iolite offers the TouchFLO 3D user interface.

Strangely enough, Expansys say the device has a WQVGA display resolution, which translates into 240 x 400 pixels, but HTC have not offered that screen resolution up so far so we guess it's a typo and the actual resolution is the vanilla QVGA one.

HTC Iolite has quad-band GSM/GPRS and 3G 900/2100 support and promises great connectivity with the GPS module, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and HSDPA.

There is no information on price and availability just yet, but you can sign up for email updates from Expansys.

it looks sort of like a more rounded version of the Sprint version of the Touch Pro. The specs seem to be almost exactly the same as well other than the 2.8 screen. I'm hoping to see more cool devices from HTC in 09 so I really hope they do something...
