AnonD-131407, 10 May 2013Just 4 MP cam?Its not 4MP. HTC One has 4 ultra pixel, which is similar as 14 MP.
AnonD-128820, 10 May 2013Hi guys am from india, it seems that HTC is not at all interested the HTC ONE to launch in ind... moreI'm still waiting for HTC One. Samsung Galaxy S4 is already here in the Philippines and I've seen and tested it. I don't rush in buying because what's the point? I still have a phone that I can use and waiting to be replaced. I just want to test both before I decide which to buy.
Bappy, 10 May 20134 mp Cam will not satisfy most of the PeopleActually it's the trolls who are not really satisfied.
AnonD-131407, 10 May 2013Just 4 MP cam? This is ultra pixel camera and its 4 Up not mp and its better than samsung galaxy s4's 13 mp camera
AnonD-128820, 10 May 2013Hi guys am from india, it seems that HTC is not at all interested the HTC ONE to launch in ind... moreRelax. It's just a phone.
I've just spent 2 days playing around with the HTC ONE.
Final thought is that if I didn't have a smartphone I may consider it, but since I have an iPhone 4S there is nothing in the HTC ONE that makes me want to drop this for that. Nothing.
The Camera on my 4s is better than the HTC ONE. The HTC ONE camera is better than the butterfly's camera; but worse than most cameras out there.
When the phone gets to India, go with your girlfriend and take a picture of her in the stor with the butterfly and then with the ONE and you'll see what I mean. Even though the ONE has only 4MP the picture quality is better while the Butterfly is all washed out.
Then go to the nearest Apple store and take a picture on the iPhone 5.
Remember to Zoom in and really look at the pictures. They iphone 5 will blow both ONE and DNA out of the water. So will the Galaxy S4.
Another thing is that, after playing with the HTC DNA you go back to the ONE and wished it had a 5" screen. 4.7 just doesn't cut it.
HTC ONE = Close, but no Cigar.
AnonD-144246, 10 May 2013Yah .. 4MP only but the must powerful smart phone camera in the world even better than 42MP fr... moreno it is not,may be it is the best 4 mp phone camera, with excellent indoor performance, but outdoor performance is below other competitors.
details with 4 mp camera always less than 8 mp camera.
as i know still no phone can compete with nokia 808 camera.
Could anyone be helpful enough to tell me as to which all colours of handset are actually available in the market.? Only gsm arena says that red is available. Does anyone own a red htc one yet?
when this phone gonna launch in Saudi Arabia, any idea ??
It has ultrapixel not megapixel so it has 4mp up is better than mp.
AnonD-131407, 10 May 2013Just 4 MP cam?That's a more power 4MP that parallels the regular 8MP and 13MP cameras of other phones.
It's termed 'ultrapixel' because it's lens has higher sensitivity for premium image quality.
I understood it all after I read reviews. 4MP here isn't a typo :)
HTC One is everything your phone isn't:
* Aluminium unibody with zerogap molding
* Ergonomic curved back to fit your palm
* Stereo front speakers Beats audio
* Dedicated amplifiers for headphones and loudspeakers
* Ultrapixel camera that lets in 300% more light
* Recessed camera to reduce the chance of damage
* 88° Wide-angle 1080p HDR front facing camera
* ZOE photo-manipulation and picture taking
* A gallery brought to life with highlight reel and ZOE
* BlinkFeed keeps you updated with the world glancing your home screen in a blink of an eye.
* IR blaster to control your TV and provide you a guide with recomendations and reminders
* Intuitive, fresh and easy to use Sense 5 to make your phone look stylish, young and professional.
AnonD-131407, 10 May 2013Just 4 MP cam?Its 4mp, but it also has ultra pixels (dumb name I know), which is to help take better photos in darker areas. If you look up some images taken with the HTC One you can see that they still produce very clear photos. However if you compare to the S4 for example, you will be able to see a difference.

Buy a dictionary, study it and then leave comments th... moreUnfortunately for you, people from all over the world visit this website and one of the requirements, if you want to post a comment, is that all comments must be written in English.
So, when you read the comments understand that a lot of people who are commenting aren't English speakers and they're doing their best to say what they want to say.
Anonymous, 09 May 2013Why are you so concerned about the camera? Are you a photographer taking tons and tons of pict... moreI think you are wrong about that.
As you can see, smartphone cameras are getting more and more powerful. See Pureview 808.
Why? because even professional photographers on the road want to take a picture and email it to their boss or whoever is paying them to take the pictures. It's not very convenient to carry a big camera around all the time and then plug it into a laptop to mail it somewhere.
Also, people want to be able to take good quality pictures and make albums and post them online. Nobody wants to carry many devices if 1 device can do it all.
The smartphone HAS become THE digital camera of choice. People always have their phones so it is the device they use the most to take pictures and videos so the quality matters.
If it didn't matter HTC wouldn't go through all this trouble trying to explain the new technology in their camera and why they think it is better.
Anonymous, 09 May 2013Sounds like a great piece of kit, the only concern I have is what happens when the battery fails? What happens when the battery fails?
Millions buying Apple products don't even worry about this anymore. We have never been able to take the battery out of an iPhone (or a mac for years now) and we are doing just fine.
If it has a bad battery, take it in and get a new phone.
If the battery is fine out of the box, by the time it goes to thousands of charge cycles and it starts losing its ability to maintain a full charge, you will be on the market for a new phone.
Bappy, 10 May 20134 mp Cam will not satisfy most of the PeopleI think you are wrong.
The 4MP camera on this phone will satisfy most people because most people's pictures live in their phones to post to social networking sites. On the phone, the pictures look perfectly fine, provided you get used to focusing it right and working with this camera.
I think a lot of the kinks now with the camera will be worked out in updates.
The lack of Megapixels isn't a big issue unless you open them in photoshop and zoom in all the way to look for flaws.
AnonD-144246, 10 May 2013Yah .. 4MP only but the must powerful smart phone camera in the world even better than 42MP fr... moreI don't know where you get the idea that the 4MP camera in the HTC ONE is better than a 41MP Pureview.
The HTC ONE's camera is not even better than the GS4 13MP camera. The quality check right here is proof. Also, the countless HTC ONE vs GS4 vs iPhone 5 camera reviews on the net that have sample pictures, they all agree the HTC ONE doesn't perform as well as the others.
The only area where the HTC ONE's camera out performs the others is when you are taking picture in very low light conditions. Otherwise, as you can clearly see in the check here and countless other comparison pictures, the HTC ONE really isn't better than the other super phone cameras.
The HTC ONE takes OK pictures and in some cases pixelated pictures and sometimes awful pictures if you don't focus it properly.
AnonD-131407, 10 May 2013Just 4 MP cam?Yes. The Camera is only 4MP.
The HTC ONE has a lot of new technology built into the Camera. Go to the website for a better explanation as to why it is only 4MP.
In reality, you can open the "check quality" link right here in gsmarena and compare the HTC ONE to the Galaxy S4 for example.
In the Photo Compare tool choose 'Scaled to 3MP" and choose the Poster option.
As you can see, the HTC one isn't as smooth and clear as the Galaxy S4. It takes good pictures, but because it has a low 4MP you can see artifacts and pixelation that the GS4 renders smooth.
It's right there. There is no denying it.
The one thing that the HTC ONE excels at is the Low Light conditions. Because of the low 4MP combined with the technology on the camera, where the GS4 takes a picture where you can hardly see anything, the HTC ONE takes in light from anywhere and takes a bright picture where there's hardly any light.
So, since people don't really go "develop" pictures anymore, to be honest, they look great on the HTC ONE screen and they're just fine to post on Facebook or Instagram, which is what most people will do.
Otherwise, if you want to take pictures to later work on the in Photoshop or do some other kind of professional work, then get another phone.
If you only care about the Camera, then buy a Nokia 808 Pureview.
AnonD-131407, 10 May 2013Just 4 MP cam?Actually the HTC One uses a new "ultrapixel" technology for its camera. It's supposed to have the same clarity as an 8 MP (standard pixel) camera. See here:
