After reading the comments here, I've decided to stay with 4.4.4 kitkat for now. But the lollipop update notifications keep popping out, and i can't even remove it from my notification bar. Can someone please tell me how to turn off these software update reminders? It's getting really annoying. Thanks in advance!

Does anybody know how to manually update htc one M8 as the lollipop rom is available for download.The instructions are given but when i tried to do it was struck on 3% showing checking mid/cid... From 2 hours it is showing that don't know what to do as it is not turning on plz help

i stay in Malaysia and i got my M8 updated to Lollipop.. I feel the new os is draining the battery quite alot compared to 4.4.4... yesterday i had my M8 at 100 percent around 12:30am and woke up at around 6:30AM with 96 percent left without anything running and i was even on extreme power saving mode. when i checked the battery usage, Android OS and Android System is the only 2 in the list. And if I have the phone on standby without apps running, the battery will drain around 1 percent in every 10 - 20 mins.. it got me quite worried as i need to monitor the battery now and then for unwanted drains..
i would advise those who have not update to 5.0 to not update mainly because there is not much of a change for now, Just minimal UI changes and animation improvements, no significant speed increase or whatsoever. I feel 4.4.4 is event better in terms of speed and battery performance.
Hopefully there is a fix to this problem by HTC, not only me but alot of other users are having heating issues and many others different issues with their phone after the update.

AnonD-341628, 25 Jan 2015Why? Why are you suggesting that we must not update our htc m8 to android 5. something wrong? ... moreI can see no problem with Lollipop. There's no major changes at all. Don't be afraid. Especially lots of bugs will remove. Fluidity made higher.

to tell u the truth i love this phone its faster and smoother than any phone i have ever used its been two months since i brought it and 5.0 update is also awesome fell in love with the phone

I must say it is the best smartphone ever with 2.5GHz processor. I was getting tired of iPhone and it's limitations. I read a lot about iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S5, LG's G3, Nexus 5 and HTC ONE M8. It's super smooth, switching on takes less than 6 seconds. Camera Quality is amazing with dual camera on the back. HTC is not about MegaPixel but ULTRA Pixel. I really enjoy the quick dropdown access menu. Sound quality is great. IF you are looking for a smartphone that really works, go for HTC M8.
After all it is made Gun Metal.
