Who needs photos with 5312 x 2988 resolution?? HTC One M8 main failure is its camera. What makes it almost unusable is software. It can't focus properly and has huge problems with overexposure. And manual mode does not work properly.
Techno J., 07 Sep 2014Actually 8 MP will not enough comparing with today standards. HTC should include at least a 10... moreThat's not gonna happen.
If HTC keeps their pixel size ( 2 micron) constant and make the camera even 9 megapixel, the camera sensor will have to be about 1/2 inches. And that's certainly not going to happen as that's ridiculously large sensor.
They can go back to the traditional camera though. But that'll decrease low light photo quality. And to improve that, they'll have to bring in OIS which doesn't allow the duo camera.
There is a lot of trouble for HTC and they'll either continue to make this kind of useless cameras or they'll have to accept that they made some seriously bad camera in past.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2014M8 users tell me please difference between s/w 4.4.2 and 4.4.3. Can i update or not?You should update into latest 4.4.3. I have no any issue with the new Android update plus now there is a file manager on the new update. So no need to worry anymore about the SD card writing issue.

This phone is absolutely splendid. Sensational battery life - at least a whole day with moderate-heavy usage (~4-5 hours of Whatsapp/browsing/youtube,etc with hours of music and standby in between). The screen is just fabulous, 1080x1920. The sound.. is.. AMAZING. People bend their necks to see where the stunning, brilliant sound comes from. The camera takes sharp, crisp pictures which are good HD, but you can't zoom in a lot. The front camera is unnecessarily superb. The design blows away any other phone; this is the most beautiful piece of metal I've ever seen. What with the unlock gestures and other accessibility tweaks provided, this phone is just a powerhouse of awesomeness. Also, this phone never lags.
This phone is amazing. I'm pewdiepie and u guys know about me. I'm the beast on utube
sam95, 06 Sep 2014Does anyone have any idea when the next flagship from htc is going to be released? was dissapo... moreI'm not so sure, normally HTC announces their flagship phone in March each year.
If you are hurried, you can buy a Note 4. It has a great 16 MP camera, probably the best phone camera of this year. If you buy a Note 4, I recommend you to buy the Exynos version. I don't think that s805 SoC CPU will do much justice to the QHD display on the Note 4.
If you certainly need an HTC phone, just wait for the next year M9. I hope it will have a better camera.
Does anyone have any idea when the next flagship from htc is going to be released? was dissapointed with the camera of m8 ! so waiting for next flagship device...its already been like 7 months
Naveen Farook, 05 Sep 2014I have been using the M8 for a month now. I just love this phone. I came from a Samsung Note... moreIndeed, HTC phones are great despite the poor camera. The frontal dual speakers on the M8 is an important feature for me. I hate lousy loud speakers. Another thing why I love HTC because of the HTC Sense. Nothing can match the user-friendliness and flawless of the Sense UI.
I think the Xperia Z3 would be the biggest flop of this year. No any hardware or software improvements, just the old Z2 with a new name. At least Sony made the best compact phone (Z3 Compact) phone of this year. That's the only thing I appreciate about Sony. Sony completely failed me in this year.
Definitely the Note 4 will be the best phone of this year. However, 90% of the upgrades from hardware department, very minor improvements from software department. I don't think it's a wise decision upgrade from Note 3 to Note 4. If you a Note 4 user, you should wait for the Note 5 in the next year. If you are a Note 2 user, then it's a great upgrade.
Anyhow, Note 4 will be the best phone of this year.
Any one knows when is the next flagship phone from htc relaesing. .imeant the HTC one m9
Naveen Farook, 05 Sep 2014I have been using the M8 for a month now. I just love this phone. I came from a Samsung Note... moreYou forgot to put S5, S5 LTE-A on your list! So you owned all Samsung flagships! Lol!
I am using the HTC One M8 past 3 months. And I would say this is the best mobile phone I have ever used in my life.I did lot of individual tests to check the battery life of the device. I once continuously played music on my phone non-stop for 49 hours straight from initial battery meter charge at 88%.After listening for 49 hrs, the battery meter showed 2% charge remaining. Now this is incredible. Why? Just imagine if I would have started playing music from 100% charge itself, I would have got like 52 hrs or so. Next test I did was to check video playback battery. I got 5 hrs and 41 mins on 100% charge at very good brighness. So, when I am using the phone normally, I get to charge the phone every 2-3 days minimum.Way to go HTC (no wonder they are still nowhere in the market) comparing sales to Apple, Samsung or LG and this kind of surprises me.Such a lovely full featured handset and company not doing well.
I have been using the M8 for a month now. I just love this phone. I came from a Samsung Note 3 so believe me, M8 had some big shoes to fill to satisfy me. To be honest, from the way I use the phone, I feel that the battery life of the M8 is superior than the Note 3 a little, but not much (again, this is according to my usage). Performance wise, I dont get any stutter, hiccup or anything on the M8 like I did with all my past droids (S1, S2, Note1, S3, Note2, S4, S4 LTEA with snapdragon 800, Note3. The main reason I went for this phone is because of the dual boomsound speakers and the 2 watt amp to power any kind of headphone with ease. After using this phone, I cant go back to my note3 cs I keep noticing a yellow tint on the amoled panel which is frustrating. I would recommend this phone to anyone as I feel it is the best for now. Again, guys I am not bashing Samsung, I still am a fan and can't wait to get my hands on the Note 4.
