Neetash , 01 Oct 2014What's the battery life of your one m8?I'm very confused on what handset to get.either the Z3... moreI normally get nearly 7 hrs screen on time. It's more than enough for a moderate user for use around 2 days without charging. Moreover, the M8 has a feature called "Extreme Power Saving Mode" which increase the battery life when your phone running on low-battery.

Honestly, the M8 is not the right phone for you if you expect a good camera. If you specifically need an HTC phone with a good camera, HTC will announce the M8 Max in this month. According to rumours, it may have an 18MP rear camera with OIS. Or you can wait for the HTC M9 in the next year. I hope it will have a great camera.

If you like a Samsung phone, the Note 4 will be ideal for you.

        Reborn reports suggest that the smartphone could feature a 5.5-inch 2,560x1,440-pixel display and an 18-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization. Powered by Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.5, other hardware could include a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,000mAh battery. Allegedly, HTC will build the phone out of an aluminum composite.

Are going to pay $800 for the same hardware which in the Z2? You can rather purchase a Z2 just for $500. The Z3 and Z2 are almost same, nothing any significant difference.

                If you need an HTC phone with a better camera, just wait for the HTC M8 Max which plans to announce in the next month. Rumours suggest it will have Snapdragon 805 SoC chip, 3GB Ram, 5.5" 2K display, 3000mAH battery and 16MP rear camera. Alternatively, you can wait for the HTC M9 which will announce in March next year.

                You can even consider about the Note 4 as well. In my opinion, no any phone come close the Note 4 .

All the new features on Z3 are just minor software features. The most disappointing this is it has the exact same CPU and GPU which in the Z2. The only difference is clock speed. I expected at least Snapdragon 805 chip, but Sony completely failed me this year. My only compliment about Sony is at least they made a worthy compact phone (Z3 Compact).

                    There are some friends are using the Z2. Their user experience of the Z3 is not so positive. Sony software has a lot of bugs, maybe much more than Touchwiz. Sony's camera application is so horrible and their displays are so over-saturated. Sony will have to do a much better job in the next year. Otherwise, it will be the end of Sony.

                    HTC's only weakness is the camera department. They failed design a better camera two years in a row. I hope that they will fix it in the next year HTC M9.

                      But Z3 is better than Z2, being smaller, brighter, and with nice colours.

                      My personal concern regarding sony is the 6 month update cycle which leads to:
                      1. reduced time for preparing new product or for major improvements
                      2. poor sw updates for ex-flagships (Z1, now Z2), because all the effort goes onto the new product
                      3. are you confortable with your phone being ex-flagship in just 6 months? and paying the premium price for it?

                      Other than this i like SONY brand, sony mobiles.

                      Best regards

I used the S5 around 3 months. Overall, I prefer the HTC Sense over the Touchwiz, but we can't forget the unique Touchwiz features such as multi-window, S-Health and etc.. However, only the multi-window feature is important for me among others.

                        Samsung needs to optimise the Touchwiz performance and make it more elegant.

Apart from the camera, there is no other way that Z3 can beat the M8. The Z3 has very marginal improvements compared to the Z2.

                          * Improved ISO performance of the camera.

                          * You can hook up the Z3 with a PS4 controller and use Z3 as a secondary screen.

                          * High resolution audio.

                          * Some new camera features.

                          Overall, the Z3 is the same as the Z2. Still, it has the same CPU and GPU which have in the M8. The display on the Z3 is not good as the M8 display. I don't see any reason for upgrading my M8 to Z3. Surely, the HTC M9 in the next year will totally destroy the Z3. It will come with entirely new hardware and software features.

                            Iphone 5s doesnt lag agreed. But your iphone 4s is old and it might not be able to run IOS 8 properly...

                            Only a few android flagships can match the iphone in performance and htc one m8 is one of them...

                            Regarding the performance of iphone 5s, it works lag free because the processor has to push less pixels on the screen (its just a 720p display and the screen size is small) whereas most of the android flagships have 1080p displays.. so it appears to stutter here and there a bit

                                I went to LG showroom. I had a flower photo and I transfered that to LG G3. The comparison clearly showed M8 is the winner. I asked my wife to pick one she like most. She picked HTC M8. The G3 pic looks more whitish. Colors are dull, looks like a way inferior contrast compared to M8. Observed the same whitish color on camera photo as well.

                                The bottom line is, never comment on a product which you haven't tried or tested.

All you have mentioned just specs, but did you check the performance of the G3. Except the camera, M8 beats the G3 in all other aspects.

                                  * Only 4 MP primary camera

                                  Agree, that's the only thing which G3 is better than the M8.

                                  * No laser auto focus

                                  Laser auto focus is not really necessary. It does not make much different.The speed of the laser AF is (0.276 seconds) whereas conventional HTC M8 has (0.3 seconds). So it's not a huge difference that we should give serious consideration to.

                                  * No 2160p video capture facility.

                                  Agree, HTC M8 doesn't have any 4K video recording capability.

                                  * Less battery capacity than LG G3

                                  Wonder if you know the actual battery life of the G3. Higher battery capacity doesn't always give you longer battery life. The power hungry QHD display on the G3 kills the battery life. Just check the battery life of both M8 and G3 by clicking on this link. M8 has a much better battery life than the G3.

                                  http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g3_vs_htc_one_m8-review-1094p4.php

                                  * No True HD + IPS display

                                  Again the QHD display on G3 is an epic failure. No need any technical analysis. You can see it with your own eyes. The QHD display on G3 is really dim and has a feeble contrast compared to the M8. Similarly, the M8 display is much sharper than the G3 display.

                                  * No dolby sound enhancement

                                  Simply, M8 is the king of the audiophile phones.

                                  * Only 5 inch display

                                  This is a personal preference, 5" display is more than enough for me.

                                  Moreover, CPU and GPU in the G3 are not capable enough to handle a QHD display. That's why G3 is constantly lagging. By reviewing all these facts, HTC M8 is much better than the G3. The camera department is only way that G3 beats the M8
