Regarding the resolution. I haven't seen any game on android which has the option to decrease resolution. On pc games we have that option but not on phone. I'm not a gamer but my gt 765m also handles everything at 1080p.

I prefer these discussions on the blog though. Do you visit gsmarena blog?

For example, you can get better fps on Crysis 3 by playing it on the 720p instead of 1080p. Yeah, 720p resolution on a 1080p monitor is horrible. Anyway, I don't have to do that because I have a GTX 690 4GB VGA in my PC.

I played Asphalt 8 on my iPhone 5s smoothly than the HTC M8 and Galaxy S5 owing to 640p display on the iPhone 5s. But some of my friends who own iPad Air complains that high-end games are quite lagging on their high resolution iPad. I'm not sure because I don't own an iPad, but they say.

I badly need a Galaxy Note. I sold my iPhone 5s and got some amount of money. This is my first Galaxy Note that I'm going to buy. I can't wait until the next year. I'm interested about the iPhone 6 as well. But I think I should wait for the iPhone 7. I hope to buy a Tab in next year. I'm not sure, my plans are always changing.

The problem is that auto mode of samsung phones is terrible in low light. You have to use it manually.

Plus 720p on a 1080p display looks worse than a 720p display due to non perfect pixel fit.

M8, s5 and z2 are good for gaming but no one plays asphalt 8 as smooth as iphone 5s. And asphalt 8 is a one year older game. I can bet these phones will stutter when asphalt 9 comes out.

Anyway, there are people who purchase phone for gaming.

Regarding the note 4 launch. It's closer to 1.5 day than 1 day. I'm excited about it but I'm certainly not going to buy it or any phone unless my s4 becomes unusable or irrelevant and that's not gonna happen until next year.

Also there is one more phone I'm excited about. It's the xperia z3 compact. And we can't forget the iphone 6 with it's beast apple a8 processor.

I never faced any problem with playing games on my current M8 as well as my previous Galaxy S5. Seriously, people buy phones for play games???

Of course you can get higher fps in a low resolution display. That's why Galaxy Alpha has higher fps than any other smartphone. For example, I can increase the fps on a game by lowering the resolution on my PC. Same hardware, lower resolution and higher fps.

Anyway, I can't wait until tomorrow. I'm waiting for the Note 4. If it impresses me, I'm ready to buy it.

However, AFAIK only m7 has this problem and m8 doesn't have this issue.

If your phone has this issue, get a replacement.

Though i agree nothing can match tegra k1 GPU now. I'm waiting to see how powervr gx6650(iphone 6) and mali t760mp16(note 4) perform in front of k1.

In phones nothing can still match galaxy alpha level of framerates. It has a better GPU than adreno 330 and has much less pixels to push. The result is 60 fps in all current games as well a as good future proofing.

It has the console level graphics that no any phone or tab can match with it. The price also reasonable compared to what it offers.

The Snapdragon 801 version of Galaxy S5, HTC M8 or Xperia Z2 all of them has the same gaming performance, they is no any visible difference on them.

Actually note 3 has 3 GB RAM. So there is around 700 MB dedicated as VRAM and 2.3 GB is available. On the other hand m8 can't do that as it has only 2 GB RAM. So it only gives around 300 MB for gaming.

Sense is lighter than touchwiz. I perfectly agree. It's also better looking and faster. But that doesn't mean that touchwiz consumes more RAM. In fact, touchwiz is one of the best skins in RAM management. My s4 always had more than 500 MB RAM free on kitkat.

I agree that m8 has a better GPU which is slightly overclocked. But that'll have a very less difference. Around 1 or 2 fps at max.

On the other hand, the phones i suggested were galaxy alpha and xperia z1 compact. These phones have 720p displays and powerful GPUs. These will fare much better in gaming compared to both m8 and g3. Also due to less load on GPU, they'll heat up lesser.
