For example, g3 has a QHD display. That means there are more pixels to push and hence it gives you lower framerates.
In gaming, m8 won't be much better than note 3 as they use similar processors and same resolution.
For gaming, I'd suggest either galaxy alpha or xperia z1 compact. My recommendation would be alpha as it has a bigger screen for note immersive game play and it has a better GPU too.
Alpha will give you around 3 times the framerates that g3 would give in demanding titles. Z1 compact will give you 2 times of g3.
You can also get iphone 5s. That'll also go great with gaming but it had smaller screen.
If you can wait, iphone 6 and z3 compact are coming.
About the heating, any phone will heat up under high load. They don't have heat sinks or fans. Use a case to avoid heating.

I wanna go for m8 but i need someone answer me is m8 runs games with high graphics smoothly does it get warm after 30 and if so is that phenomena shortened its lifetime ,thnx?

As the CPU defines with Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801, I fully depend the quality and performance on it with Perfect rated 10 - best, the next time HTC will release newer product this year, I definitely buy again.

Could you please inform me what the good of 4.4.3 since I dont really see the different with my old 4.4.2.

This looks like a great phone and probably my next purchase but I just wish HTC would allow for a change of battery. Love the fact they've added an SD slot but why oh why have they not allowed for a change of battery???

Quite simply the best Android phone released this year so far. I've sampled the competition, and only the Z2 comes close. The ultrapixel camera is a gimmick that doesn't take great photos like its rivals, but everything else more than makes up for it.
I have no idea why GSM Arena hates it so much, as other reviews disagree.

AnonD-253518, 29 Aug 2014I also experienced the same problem,bt i applied little toothpaste on my toothbrush and rubbed... moreYou guys are very funny cleaning the camera lenses with toothpaste. I'm a DSLR camera owner, use Zeiss or Eclipse liquid cleaners to clean the camera lens. You can buy them from any camera store and the price is around $8-10.
Just put 2-3 drops onto a microfiber cloth and rub it very gently on the lens. Do it into one side rather than rubbing multiple sides.
Note: Don't put the liquid directly onto the camera lens.

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2014m8 battery life is very poorI always get 6-7 hrs on screen time with HTC M8. May be you are spending your whole day with the phone and end the battery life within 5-6 hrs before even ending the day, then put the blame on the phone rather than effectively manage the battery life.

But here is the thing, you can easily wipe-off a fingerprint, however, removing an oleophobic coating is not as easy, and if that coating is on camera lens and it got scratched, then all your photos will become blurred forcing you to remove the coating.
So it was probably not a good idea to have an oleophobic coating on the camera lens to begin with.

The inability to change the battery will potentially push me from HTC. I need to upgrade the HTC One S I have enjoyed for 2.5 years. Firstly because bloating of apps these days fill to busting the small amount of phone memory available and secondly the battery now needs two charges a day.
As with many parents the old phone goes to the kids with a new battery pack.
I really want to buy either the HTC One mini 2 (too small memory) or the HTC One M8 (bit to big for me). Both now take a sd card but they both have non-changeable batteries.
Time for an alternative brand?

Hey.... those who are facing troubles wyt scratches on the rear cam cover glass... even i sufferd the.. all u need is a metal polisher n a cotton ear bud! Dont try the toothpaste method.. it.ll increase the scratches... trust me i did... n den i tried this one called BRASSO costs 60.inr jus dip the buds in the liquid n den jus give circular movements on the glass... witin minutes u will notice the smudges disappering... n den wipe the remains wyt a cotton soft cloth... dats it... back to normal...

M8 has one of the best battery life in a phone. It won't beat the week long battery life of a Nokia 1100 but it's pretty good for a smartphone.
