Try this. Multiply the resolutions of horizontal and vertical and divide it by 1024*1024. You'll get the megapixels.

I clearly mentioned in my comment that this phone has a 4 mp camera and not 2 mp or FHD.

Full HD isn't a very high resolution. Full HD means 1080*1920 which effectively is 2 million pixels or 2 mega pixels.
However, this camera is 4 megapixel. Your statement is anyway invalid.
About the full HD. A full HD video is considered good. As this is 30 full hd images pet second and hence the fast pace doesn't allow us to notice the blur or the noise. Also the many images continuously give out more detail. A full HD screen us also good as it shows motion.
However a full HD camera is not great. 2 megapixel is very less for a still. It will have noise, people want to crop or zoom in on an image and various other factors.
I won't go into discussing this camera with you but just keep in mind that a camera which captures full HD stills is not at all good.

there is no problem with the camera . the cam is perfect with a natural and a full hd pictures .
the phone is amazing and there is no loading or waiting a while to open something ... like samsung.

The phones camera is pretty good , you look like u havent even touched the m8 , using it in the real world differs , unless u will keep following the specs sheet blindly its your problem dude ....

Even if the outer lens was perfect the images would still be good for nothing.

By came lens got heavily scratched,despite using the cover which came in the box.
i am afraid to get it repaired,as once the body is opened ,its hard to set it back.

No problem at all with the camera! Don't believe on the biased reviews on the net. Just bought it and it takes great n natural pics. Videos are amazing too! Trust me bro. It's worth every bit of your money.

Have been using HTC One M8 over a month now. Not a single issue I am having with it.
Amazing phone with distinctive body design, flawless performance and speed, good battery life (more than I expected with such featured device), camera picture quality is very good and more than satisfactory plus loads of features which you will fall in love with.
All in all, best phone in the market currently among its competitors!
