Overall it's a neat phone, been using it for over a month now with no issues what so ever except for the fact that the SCREEN IS NOT SCRATCH RESISTANT!!!!!!!!!!(much less resistant than any iphone out there) You would think a phone with this quality would habe that covered. Also camera isn't incredible but gets the job done most of the time. It's fast and battery can easily last a full day of moderate/slightly intese usage). Sound is of course excellent. The Sens software is simple and neat (much closer to what an IOS user is Familiar with than Samsung's android distro.

afzal, 18 Jul 2014i want to buy a phone, which is better samsung galaxy s5 or sony xperia z2 or htc one m8?ok thats tough that depends on your needs.. ok i bought the phone m8 i had a hard time picking between the two.. i decided to go to z2 but after a week of used the phone has a over-heating issues( its not a defective unit because a friend of mine is experiencing it as well) over heating issues in the sense that when you are taking 4k videos, using the camera for a couple of mins. you will notice that it becomes uncomfortable to hold even if you accidentally left the phone camera open when it over heats there will pop out in the screen saying that the device camera cannot be use at the moment because its too warm something like then it will forced close until the time it becomes cool and also the home screen when you use a lot of widgets it tends to lag though minimal but its noticeable . from that day i decided to bring it back to my carrier in exchange for m8 and now I'm a happy user of M8 it does not have the best camera but its not bad the low-light shots is way better than z2 esp. with flash on though daylight shots could have been better there is some purple fringing if you did not click on the screen to focus.. the quality is enough if your not into cropping or printing out of photos i can guarantee that it is enough the performance is way better it gets warm but not as warm as the z2 and i did not feel any lags no matter how full my home screen of widgets performance boom sound low-lightshot and software optimization Go to M8 but if your into camera printing zooming and watching to bigger screen go to z2

HTC M8 has great build quality, dual front speakers wnich are awesome, little no none bloatware. But it quite big even though it only has 5" screen, the camera is just abysmal at 4MP. Galaxy S5 has the best screen you can get, contrast, colors, everything is near perfect. Software is quite bloated though not as much as previous Samsung phones. Build quality is subpar, speakers are meh. Xperia Z2 has great build quality, nearly as good as M8. Software is relatively bloat-free, the camera is the best you can get, screen is good because Sony finally decided to use IPS. Speakers are mediocre, no particularly bad but no good either. If I had to decide between the three I would choose Z2 because I more often use headphones than speakers, the sole reason to tell the truth as both phones are equally good with the exception of bigger screen and better camera on Z2. Galaxy S5 has outstanding screen but it just feels cheap and the Samsung bloatware is just... Besides, you won't notice the difference in screen quality unless you compare the two.

My new M8 failed the day I got it. The store will not replace and has sent away to be assessed. They'll make a decision to replace within 2 weeks.. with???

I brought ma htc m8 just couple of weeks ago...And I must say d phone is just incredible!...I was quite confused abt ma selection for HTC m8 cos. After reading d review for m8 and stocking videos on you tube I was thinking 2 go for Apple 5s Buh later I thought I want a phone wth better design not a common toy!...if you're using Sme rubbish Samsung phone and wanna switch ya phone thn HTC m8 is a great choice I guess!...whenever I take out ma m8 from ma pocket it drags ol d attention from pple...if you're confused about it's camera thn let meh clear down d facts it's camera is great enough it takes awesome picture's from it's duo camera you'll love d effects of auto-focus d duo camera works incridible just you need 2 tab lock d target and get and awesome superclear quality pictures...it's internet speed is mch faster as compared 2 apple 5s no hanging issues at ol and sound we don't need 2 say mch abt sound sound is fabulous as compared 2 any othr phone in d market***

At least, compare HTC M8 with current phones. Logic dictates, judging your review in the context audio sound HTC M8 is the in the market according to you, because no current phone even comes close to it except your N91. Lol... I'm using HTC M8 I haven't tested it but I'm using it. Lol...Nonetheless, HTC for life no matter what

To all those who think HTC M8 (One) or other earthly gadgets come near the N91 in terms of audio quality, here's some food for thought.
HTC M8 has an integrated audio-amplifier support along with few razzmatazz in form of software tweaks and gimmicks to give you a placebo that the sound quality is improved.
With a brand name of Harmann-Kardon, it's easy to trap customers in believing your words. Reality remains, M8 is hardware-limited to go any further down the beautiful sound alley that leads to salvation.
That Harmon-Kardon thing you keep hearing about is plainly limited on embedded player that HTC comes loaded with. Root/disable/uninstall that, and HTC will sound like any other run of the mill phone.
Now iPhones are distinguishable from the current gens mainly because the audio renderings in them are better than the Samsungs but not better than HTC flagships. Apple’s audio library has some exclusive dlls that make it possible to add a distinct ting to the sound they produce. The original beats on the m8 is just an algorithm designed to extract the best out of whatever audio it may produces.
But then, put all these phones at one side and put N91 on the other - strictly for audio observations.
I have a classy-chrome N91 with me for last 6 years or so. I have a Sennheiser CX300II, Sony XB90EX and BrainWavz R1 Dual Dynamic Earphones. During one fine Saturday, I went to nearest store to try out the M8 One as I was sick of ‘audiofools’ going gaga over its oh-so-orgasmic audio output.
The song I tried was Massive Attack - Angel on stock audio setting on both the phones.
Part 1:
M8 coupled with CX300II - Above average sound. Distinct mid-range but passable low and upper range with obvious muddled sound noticable. Sound quality at full volume is awfully shrill.
M8 coupled with XB90EX - Same as above. Sony’s IEM are overrated like nothing else, barring a good built quality. Sound at full is quite OK, nothing to boast about.
M8 coupled with Brainwavz R1 - Awesome! Low range was flattering, Mid was astoundingly wide in terms of sound spectrum but who listens to Angels on low and mids? Highs were good but indeed not loud! Yup I mean it!
Part: II
N91 with CX300II: Extremely bassy and yet so subtly vivid with sound produced. Though I could sense Sennheiser wasn’t happy when I jacked up the volume beyond 85%. The earphones were vibrating on even smallest of the beats!! That doesn’t imply a bad headphone just that, I used a 128 kbps mp3, whirr noise and static accompanies the song throughout. Or maybe a loose connection
N91 with XB90EX: I take back my statements regarding Sony. They were astounding with ranges. You could hear the picks hitting the guitar at the very same time when intense bass blasting was flooding out of the spectrum. That was jaw dropping performance. Again, I couldn’t withstand beyond 90% of sound levels...
N91 with Brainwavz R1: Just the perfect companion to the legendary N91. The very first beat of the song sent the shivers pumping down my spine, hair on my back stood up for the most versatile performance I’ve ever heard, I was immersed into the song beyond comprehension and at 85% of volume level, that electric guitar strumming which hits the song at the highest tempo, was masterfully rendered making it one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard. I recall hearing a song where I heard the singer whispering, before actually starting the song.
My affinity with M8 one was long gone.
The dedicated Toshiba DAC 33 DCH audio chipset, which was then not regulated by EU laws, led to the most beautiful thing in the audio arena ever, the world has witnessed. Even though N81 carries the same chipset, it is softer and more towards generic sound thanks to limited hardware prowess of the otherwise legendary chip.
HTC M8 isn’t even remotely close to sound quality produced by even the N81. Yup I had that one as well. Software tweaks, good algorithms cannot replace even a real yet poor hardware. It’s like installing the best graphic driver for inbuilt graphic unit of motherboard will replace the need of an external graphics card.
HTC One M8 is great but N91 great? Sorry to disappoint you guys, grab both and test it out yourself.

I m considering to have one myself and those are the two things that keeps me hesitated !
