Hi guys,
I have decided to post my review based on hands-on experience for those who are still wondering which mobile to buy:
I now have Samsung galaxy S5, and I was very unsure which mobile to buy, S5, M8 or Z2 I have red almost all articles on the web I could find and 90% of are just propaganda for M8.
S5 is the best trust me, M8 sucks, samsung S5 is very nice and beautiful when you see it live, and hold it, it doesn't have plastic look, it looks expensive as it have metal on the edges, and back side looks really great, not cheap, not plastic it looks really good.
Size is greatly balanced, H W and slimness, most of options I can use by one hand but for some opt 2 hands are needed.
It feels great in hand; screen is top noch, clear, sharp, on sun like there is no sun.
- It is waterproof, you can take pictures underwater
- Fingerprint sensor is REALY great, it works on first try, you enter your fingerprint 8 times for software to remember so after there is no mistakes, opens screen on first time, every time.
- Camera is absolutley fantastic, I have never seen so good pictures and video taken with a phone
- Health app is really great, you can read reviews online also, app si great
- Dual interenet speed, you can be conected on BOTH WIFI AND DATA and use double speed
- Milion options to customise your phone, from gestures, motion, air browse, customise evrything from locked screen apps to notification area, GREAT tools option can be activated (most used apps in one container and then it shows above everything like in the air and move it where and when you want), customisation of your settings area, you can decide where and how your settings will look and behave, super power save (black and white screen), normal power save, and more and more...
It is SUPER fast, no lags, almost incredible how it is fast and responsive
You can read comparison review here on GSM arena M8 vs. S5 and you will see that I'm telling the truth, S5 KICKS ASS out of M8 in all categories, except in two: metal casing and speakers, AND THAT IS IT.
S5 offers so much more, what do you need metal casing for? Show of your crapy phone, unbalanced, over sized in height, and that is it.

Z2 is a great phone, but couple of things I didn't like:
1. Design is too square for my taste, I see it as expensive small brick, bulk form
2. Glassy finishing on BOTH sides, OMG, that is HORRIFIC. That means that dust, filth and fingerprint smudges are all over the phone, back side and front side it looks and feels horrific
3. Lack of some options that S5 have
S5 RATINGS:
These ratings on the left here on GSM arena FOR S5 are false, and deliberate, WHY? Because if you now compare LG G3 and S5 they have EXCATLEY the same chipset, and S5 have better options and features, for G3 you have 8.5 and for S5 you have unrealistic 5.5
How is that possible, for excatley the same chipset, hardware, options, features you have 5.5 instead of 8.5 or 9??

asking, 04 Jun 2014which one should i go ? M8 or Z2 ? seem these two phone are nearly same.Z2 if you don't mind that dust, filth and fingerprint smudges are all over the phone, back side and front side as it have glossy finishing on both sides.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2014if i take a pic and zoom in how much detail i would loose?That depends on the screen you're viewing on and also how much you zoom in. The m8 has a 4 MP camera and unfortunately that doesn't seem like a camera from which you'd zoom and crop images.
The photo preserves details unless you zoom it to 100% or pixel-to-pixel view. To get a 100% view, use picassa viewer on PC. It looks nice and does a casual job. There is a 1:1 option beneath by which you can directly see a 100% view. Now these are is the perfect case we are talking about but we know any camera is not perfect. So you start losing details often below 100% view. 100% is the ideal case.
If you want a phone for taking photographs, don't go for m8. Take s5 then. But if you want a phone that's fast, simple and feels great, go for m8.

Actually, HTC and Apple outsource the manufacturing process to third-party Chinese companies, because they can manufacture them in low-cost than their clients do. All the quality standards set by their clients. What those third-party manufacturing companies do, they implement the manufacturing or assembling process according to the standards which given by their clients.

In China, you will get from cheapest product to most expensive product. and quality of the product varies as their price vary.

They know the conditions, their hands are steadier and they use appropriate modes. So their photos are bound to be better than the ones you take.
Regarding the china and vietnam thing, every company wants to minimize the manufacturing costs. Now, taiwan is the home country for HTC so they are bound to have a production centre there. Now, to keep up the worldwide demand they have to open new production centres. China is a country where labour is cheap and also manufacturing electronic goods, so it's logical for any company to choose china over another country for production. So a HTC phone can either be made in taiwan or in china. But they both have same quality standards so the products are quite identical and i don't think that's should be a matter to much of our attention. We're consumers and hence should care about how a product performs and where it's made.
Regarding the fuzzy pics on fb, tell your friends to upload better pics. When you use a high resolution screen such as the one on this phone, your eyes start taking such sharpness for granted and when you come across low resolution content, your eyes suddenly see a fuzzy image compared to the great looking sharp coontent. It's not anything wrong with your phone.

My HTC M8 is made in China. Regarding your Facebook photos issue, just make sure those photos and videos you watched were high resolution photos and videos. Sometimes I have even faced the similar issue when I'm watching low resolution photos & videos on Facebook.
Finally, the M8 camera is fairly poor. Nevertheless, it's not so bad.

I was expecting a natural progression from the One to the new One, and in many ways that is what I now have in my hand. The HTC One M8 is a carefully planned evolution of the already iconic M7, and the beginning of a progression which I hope will continue for some time.
HTC have gone beyond themselves with the new design. The casing is 90% metal not the 'metal/plastic/metal sandwich' of the M7 and the sides wrap around and close with the glass of the screen. It truly is a unibody, and the shape puts me in mind of a smoother, all metal, HTC One X (which had one of the best shaped casings of all the HTC phones in my opinion).
The M8 is so good to hold that I find myself taking it out and playing with it even when I don't need to use it.
The screen has the same resolution as the previous HTC One, but is stretched to a 5 inch diagonal from the previous 4.7 inch of the M7. Even though the pixels are wider spaced than the M7, they are still so dense that there is no noticeable difference between the two.The same superb screen in an even better hardware package.
The touch screen response is more accurate, and requires only the lightest of touches. This impression is supported by the French language tech site, Les Numeriques wo wrote that the M8 has the fastest touch screen response of any smartphone at 46ms.
The software has been upgraded in ways I wouldn't have imagined. I have always been a big fan of HTC Sense, and Sense 6 on the M8 is a big improvement. HTC has used some of the Snapdragon 801's mighty power to make the user experience more 'luxurious'. In several places I found touches which are almost subliminal, but give the user a distinct feel of smoothness, elegance and luxury without sacrificing performance. For the work I do on my phone, it has proven to be tireless. It hasn't lagged or stuttered at all, and the 'luxury touches' just make it feel smoother and faster still. Given my normal usage pattern I am averaging just short of 2 days before needing a charge.
I'm not a serious photographer (not even a decent hobby one) but I know my way around a photo and how to manipulate it. The new cameras and gallery software on the M8 are excellent. Several photo mags seem to agree too.
The original Ultrapixel camera and software tended to make over processed images but when most of the world used their phones to make Instagrams and Facebook selfies ... it was ideal for the job .. but there again, even I felt that there was scope for improvement.
On the M8, the 5Mpxl front-facing "selfie" camera is good enough to challenge a lot of rear-facing cams. It picks up great detail, and with the wider angle of the lens it can get everyone (or everything) into the photo. I took a selfie as a test and I hated it .. it showed every wrinkle and blemish perfectly .. my nose looks like orange peel !!! And to go with that it also has pretty good low-light performance.
Photos taken by the rear-facing Ultrapixel camera are sharper, clearer and less plagued by artifacts than those taken with the same sensor on my M7.
In my opinion, the basic image processing software has taken a quantum leap in terms of performance. In fully automatic mode the colour reproduction is more lifelike , the jpeg tiling artifacts are dramatically reduced, and gone is the nasty edge effect caused by the aggressive over-sharpening on the M7.
HTC have also added manual controls to the mix to give a photographer complete control over exposure, shutter speed, white balance etc. and even in auto mode there are controls for the user to set auto-max values to reduce over-enthusiastic tendencies in the automatic algorithm. For the more enthusiastic users of manual settings, regularly used settings can be saved as new presets which will come up on the camera selection menu once saved.
The twin-sensor arrangement allows for several depth-of-field effects and everyone who has seen me show off the effects is won over by how easy, and how clever they are. The more 'serious' photographers are equally impressed by the manual controls and the facility to save setups as presets. Overall, the photo quality is everything I need from a phone camera.
The video sound recording/reproduction is also excellent. I don't know if there is a noise-cancelling mic system, but it certainly seems to be able to differentiate the 'foreground' sounds extremely well.
The gallery, Zoe mode and highlight videos have also had a makeover. Gallery previews (and highlight videos) actually make use of the duo-camera effects when a photo contains the depth data, so I'm getting some fun results from these modes too.
The spherical panorama camera mode is also great. The results can be super with the right subject matter, and the HTC interface makes the actual act of taking the photos a breeze.
Being a musician, sound is important to me, both on headphones and through speakers. Boomsound on the M7 was good, but I always felt that the sound was 'deformed' by the Beats equalizer setting, and the sound from the speakers was a little narrow/weak without Beats.
On the M8, the sound from the Boomsound speakers and amplifiers is just plain bigger in every way. Not only is it a fair bit louder (HTC says 25%) but more importantly, the dynamic range is broader, the overall sound is clearer and the sound stage feels wider as a result. The sound quality of the M8 has improved in every way against the M7, and the M7 was the sound yardstick by which all other phones were judged in 2013. as soon as you get the chance please ... go out and try it. You won't be disappointed. If Boomsound on the M7 redefined smartphone speakers, the M8 redefined Boomsound itself.
The rest of Sense 6 is equally impressive. I love Blinkfeed and Sense TV and whilst HTC have improved the interface and their internals and made them even easier to use, they will still feel familiar to any sense 5 user.
One Sentence
I would find it very hard to identify even a single weakness in this device which would make me regret upgrading from an M7 to an M8, and I can recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their phone this year.

Hi Guys,
I bought my M8, now 5 days with my M8, simply loving every bit of it. Superb phone, worth the money spent on it. I am in Oman and Z2 and S5 were there around the same price range, but i preffered M8 and now i am really happy with my choice.....Feeling terrific.
