sam, 02 May 2014Dont worry htc one m8 got ultrapixel. which the samsung galaxy s5 cant defeat. Ultrapixel ar... moreYou sir, are speaking bs. Just because the pixels is 8 times larger doesn't makes it take 8 times the detail a regular pixel would. And it doesnt add the number of pixels in any way. 1 large pixel is still 1 pixel, not 8 pixels. Your knowledge on how a camera works is pretty inadequate.
AnonD-116479, 03 May 2014The HTC M8 have already won the crown. The HTC M8 was awarded the "Best Phone" at th... moreYeah you're right about the m8 being great and all. But what you said about the m8 being the best phone during mwc 2014 is downright wrong. The htc one m8 wasn't even announced during mwc 2014 which was held in february. The m8 was only annouced and released on the 25th of march, one month after the mwc. You sir, sounds really biased as you just said things that you didn't do much research on. I'll take you're a htc fanboy as you said that the htc one m8's camera perform great in all conditions. Yeah it's true that the 4mp(ultrapixel in htc's case) rear shooter perform well in low light condition as it captures 300% more light. But in good lighting, it's performance is not even comparable to other flagships that were actually announced during the mwc 2014 which is the sony xperia z2 and the samsung galaxy s5. Read reviews comparing the three phones camera performance, the m8 have the worst performance. You can even look at the sample pictures taken by the m8, z2 and s5. Then you will see there is no doubt the m8 loses in the camera department.
marcus, 04 May 2014is the o.s upgradable if there are updates on adroid o.s?Of course!
Anonymous, 04 May 2014plz tell me m8 cam better than 16mp cam is it?In short, NO. 4 Megapixels (or Ultra as per hTC) can NOT beat a 16 mp snapper. Apply the math here. 16 mp will catch more details, so if you need a larger print 16 mp will be definitely better than 4 mp.
However per pixel quality will be better on hTC, as the sensor size is bigger. Also as the sensor size is bigger it will allow more light, thus resulting at better night / low light shots.
If you need only camera in a phone, then M8 is not your thing. However those people who purchase a mobile phone for camera only, well I doubt their judgement!
Had the m8 for a couple of weeks, and it's an excellent phone.
The camera has superb low-light performance, with good shots at night without flash. The extra functionality, such as ufocus, while not particularly necessary, are fun to play around with. Zooming in reveals some noise, which may not be the case with higher megapixel cameras, but I don't need to print or crop, so that's not a problem - and I prefer having the low-light capabilities. I never use the front selfie camera, but I guess some people might find that useful.
What I find really stunning is the sound quality. With headphones, the quality is pretty much like any decent phone. But the speaker quality is amazing, with excellent volume, bass, and a nice rich tone. I don't like wearing headphones all the time, and often when by myself prefer a more natural sound. Watching videos with such good audio is a joy. I would recommend the phone for this feature alone.
A couple of minor complaints: the volume button is a bit sensitive, so I often find myself lowering the volume or silencing the phone by mistake; secondly, it's a bit slippery without the case, though I'd probably have put a case on, anyway.
Oh, and for once, most of the bloatware is actually useful (blinkfeed, for example).
Overall, a great phone.
AnonD-209413, 03 May 2014pls guys!! all the discussion here are CAMERAs??? is this a phone or camera??? yeah! we all kn... moreIf u need to know about the performance then I assure you. The HTC One M8 is the BEST PHONE I have ever used. It is perfect in each and every aspect. EXCEPT the Camera. Even the iphone 4s has a better camera than the HTC One M8. other than that. The HTC ONE M8 is the BEST smartphone you will ever use.
hi guys tis not 4 mp tis is a wrong information.im a htc techniation its a 4 ultra pixels wr it observes 300 percent more light than a mega pixel
Soo, has anyone in here complaining about the camera actually used the new m8?
For a phone and in direct comparison with the iPhone, z1 compact it's on par with them and if anything has more accurate colour reproduction. That's just the rear camera. The front camera blows everything else away, helped me catch the most memorable "selfie" pic with my daughter yesterday.
AnonD-209413, 03 May 2014pls guys!! all the discussion here are CAMERAs??? is this a phone or camera??? yeah! we all kn... moreLol, well said. But you know nowadays people don't carry a camera everywhere, and what if something happens worth capturing? That's why people look for a capable camera. I am not saying M8's camera isn't capable, but if you look at the rivals, that is Z2, G2, S5, even S4, well you know the answer.
I personally am a hater of mobile phone cameras, I use, or try to use my NEX always, but that always is not always, but my cell phone is always with me.
Hope you understand what I am trying to say.
pls guys!! all the discussion here are CAMERAs??? is this a phone or camera??? yeah! we all know that is has good camera. pls. i need to know the performance!! total package.. if u all keep discussing about camerA then go buy a DSLR for sure its far more better than this. thanks.

Oh, and don't doubt the 2600mah performance.. It's as long lasting as the note 2 I had.. Which packs with a 3K++mah
Just got my M8 today Malaysia.. From Bright star distribution.. Couldn't be happier to get this baby..
Awesome built, seamless performance, and less fussy then Samsung...
I had been using S2,then S4, 5 and 5S and can say nothing beats it.. The audio quality, the built, and os optimisation..
Hesitate? Don't! Get this and you will not regret each penny spent on it!
