You can decide which phone has the better camera after seeing this review. It seems to me the HTC M8 slightly better than the Galaxy S5.
Similarly, Samsung claims that the Galaxy S5 has the world fastest auto-focus speed. However, reviewer's comment as follows "but the One (M8) is significantly snappier at focusing and capturing images. The GS5 is by no means slow, but the One is practically instantaneous."
So, don't worry about the megapixel amount. It doesn't matter if the real life performances are good.

I used m7 and it was insane... I just tried the m8 and believe me it just gets better... Truly amazing...

Oh my god.! It's ridiculous that there is No official warranty provider and Not a single distributor countrywide in Pakistan that provides warranty on any single HTC mobile phone in Pakistan..

HTC M8 is a good phone, but i rarely find any difference to the one i already have the HTC ONE X.... the same user interface, infact my HTC ONE X has a better camera. i really feel that HTC should have come with more innovation in terms of camera. and also the onscreen keys are not good. HTC work on ur marketing, no one knows u exist and give good customer xperience, i have always been using HTC right from the start till date. my first smartphone HTC Desire, then sensation, then HTC ONE X, i wanted to buy the HTC ONE. however i could not find any upgrade to my HTC ONE X
