The Old HTC One looks better and more handy. It's just the broken camera and ultra pixel gimmick ruined it.
although the press image looks ugly..a real photo of a leaked htc m8(which came along with the leaked benchmarked scores) looked very nice..i just want to see the side to side comparison of images of the m8's camera with other flagships camera shots..
This is ridiculous they wait so long with the announcement. Now all the people have seen this phone.
This phone looks ugly HTC One(2013) was better looking and i don't think camera will be good i didn't like the camera of previous One either. It should be at least 8 "ULTRA PIXEL".
I'm a user of both HTC One Max And HTC M7 all I want HTC to do is a tablet. I'm talking of tablet that will give IPad hell of tough time. My HTC One Max goes head to head with IPhone 5s. I need to be philanthropic to someone in order to get HTC M8. I'd also beseech HTC to make a phone like HTC Evo 3d that phone is sooooo beautiful. Nonetheless, HTC M8 will collect many accolades for the best phone in 2014 and best beautiful phone in 2014 and most popular phone in 2014. HTC for life no matter ( they know me in Pretoria "South Africa").
I don't understand the only thing visibly different from the first one is the dual camera so why should I upgrade if I had the one. I must admit I love Samsung I have a S3 from 2012 and I definitely want the S5 because of the share features with other Samsung products and I like the rectangular look, wish the S5 had boom sound though.
need atlest 13 mp camera. fail if it is less than 8 mp even if its dual.
The phone might look good but the service warranty here in the Philippines really suck. Big time!
We had a bad experience with my dads HTC One X back two years ago, the repairs were sluggish and they dont even intend to tell you of any progress, in any case back then we had a premium phone which should have premium service but NO, HTC sucks.

More about 'GC': "Using two low profile apertures this front camera is capable of producing a high sensitivity full HD video and simultaneously producing a 3D depth map for gesture and other applications."
I guess one use would be to use your Phone as a Webcam and be able to navigate a Virtual Reality World (visible on your Computer's Monitor) by waving your hands -- would be better if the front Camera was dual aperture as well.

I noticed two recent comments about "dual Camera".
Note that in closeups you can see that the (as you call it) 'two Cameras' are different sizes (physically).
TECHNICALLY speaking it is NOT a "dual Camera", it is ONE Camera with dual apertures (there can be up to 4, so far).
To quote from the Page :http://www.corephotonics.com/computational-photography -- which contains (on the Home Page) a Camera that LOOKS a lot like the one in the upcoming 'HTC One 2014' -- BUT is NOT confirmed as being the same Camera; this is just rumour and speculation.
IF someone has a better GUESS, we all want to know, so no need to flame, just post a Link (please).
"Corephotonics has designed a family of camera reference designs for single, dual and quad aperture cameras. Such designs enable powerful features such as true optical zoom, very low profile cameras, high dynamic range, refocusing, gesture control and more."
So you get (computational) Optical Zoom, maybe "real" Optical Zoom also, (and digital Zoom), HDR, Refocusing, Gesture Control, and what they call "3-D Like" (I guess I'd call it 2.5-D, less than really nice 3D), and "more" unspecified goodies (later?).
Note: One possible short explanation of "Gesture Control" is here: http://image-sensors-world.blogspot.ca/2013/01/amd-apu-features-gesture-control-support.html .
My GUESS is that it means that it is more than just "smile detection". POSSIBLY, you could beckon with your finger to make the Camera center the frame upon that person. Do not expect any such thing in the FIRST release of the Software BUT at least you have the HARDWARE that (maybe) is capable of doing it (and without that you would rely on some really cleaver programming).
Here is: "New HTC One 2014 (M8) Hands-on Review". (in Russian, but easy to understand just by watching): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIS5oPMdObY
That seems the best Review I can find -- perhaps someone could translate a few of the interesting bits for us.
10 days and counting, tick, tick, tick -- Boom goes the BoomSound ! (Thanks Olivia).
Better Theories we all want to hear, flames we do not.
I wasnt too excited about this phone when it was first rumoured sometime in 2013 but the [alleged] specs are impressive... Water / dust proofing of some sort would be great, but that's all to be announced on 25/03/14. I bought the ONE MAX version and I must say it really is a beautiful piece of tech, I still don't have KK4.4 but it's still fast and loud ... Looking forward to THE ALL NEW ONE.. And possibly the MAX version - this might be that "back-to-basics" device that's sees HTC heading back into the green as far as profits goes...
