HTC's customer service is a series of disappointments and redundancies, not to mention the fact that their products have many shortcomings they are unwilling to make up for.
Over 7 months ago i sent in my phone with a slight crack in the screen to be repaired under the HTC Advantage program and my personal nightmare began...
First of all, if you are a customer in Canada, get out as fast as you can. I had to jump through hoops and practically bend over backwards to send my phone in for the repair i was entitled: sending it to a friend in new york to be mailed out because the postage they sent to me (at my address in canada) wouldn`t allow me to send it from home. Once i finally managed that, 3 weeks go by and still no news, with no loaner phone, i was forced to begin the most hellish customer service venture i've ever had.
When i finally lost patience and inquired about the repair status, i was told my ticket had been closed prematurely by an HTC rep', before the 30 days given to return the phone were over, and so, my phone was lost somewhere in their "repair" center. When found, and sent back (with no haste), my phone was returned to me with a dead pixel and glue marks under the screen. And so, frustrated with the now 2 months that had passed since my initial inquiry, i spoke to another representative about foregoing another botched repair, and just returning my phone altogether, to that, they told me, for the first of countless times, they would escalate my claim, and call me back within 24 to 48 hours.
Not only did i not get a callback, but i have since called what must be over a dozen times, including several calls to the corporate office, and speaking to several "supervisors", told by all i would receive a call back, that never came.
I am beyond frustrated, and just last night was on the phone with yet another HTC representative who put me on hold 4 times and told me twice he would like to call me back tomorrow. During our phone call he told me the very discouraging fact that in all his time working with HTC and customer complaints he had never heard of a single customer being granted a refund, which is what I had been requesting.
Today I got a call back and was told that if I`d like, I can send my phone in for another repair (through new york I take it?)- but was also offered the equally appealing consolation prize of requesting a refurbished phone IF i`m able to put $600 (the value of the phone) on hold until I can send them mine for them to pawn off on some other dissatisfied customer.
Anyone want to buy a used phone that`s aparently worthless just a year after being one of the `best` android phones on the market?
Thanks for nothing HTC.
AnonD-415736, 31 Jul 2015Camera m8 is very good maby you dont know how to use and handle with it. There are people like... moremost people just need to take pics fast without changing the settings like when you see a rare supercar passing by theres literally no time for settings tuning and its not about the amount of pixels its the quality of them like it has always been.....
I agree with ya..if you know how to take pics, even 5 mpx is enough
mr popular, 27 Jul 2015i bought htc m8 nd d camera is worst..?Camera m8 is very good maby you dont know how to use and handle with it. There are people like me 😀 that can take good shots with even 5mp camera and there are people who probably wont take good shots even if there was a 30 mp camera.
AnonD-293370, 29 Jul 2015it depends on what matters to yo the most...if camera is a really important option then m8 eye... moreyes is camera isnt the priority then you can be happy with the m8 the camera quality is okayish for fb ig and twitter but nothing else no
Nir, 28 Jul 2015M8 or m8(dual) or m8 (eye)......which one is better??it depends on what matters to yo the most...if camera is a really important option then m8 eye is a better choice but if camera not that important and things like NFC and infrared port are in priority then m8...i have a m8 eye and i am thoroughly pleased with it.
AnonD-197474, 28 Jul 2015Hi David, I bought HTC M8 in October last year and I I tell you, it's the best phone I've ever... moreFellow Htcian,
Even today I still don't know where does it come from that m8 camera is worst; I have people I know using m8 and no one complains with this camera and to me it's a decent camera. Perhaps we should ask ourselves what do we do with pictures taken from our phones. The issue of camera makes people uncertain for no good reason and I will tell you why; it's only a camera feature where you will see people complaining sometimes unnecessarily so. Your s6,m9,g4,iphone6,note4 etc you will find people complaing about camera. My conclusion as human being it's probably our nature to critisize even where criticism are not worthwhile because we don't want to be satiated. It's only M8 that has the most positive comments from users above all phones amongst phones reviews in the whole Internet. M8 is highly well spoken by its users. Nonetheless, Htc for life no matter what
Hi David, I bought HTC M8 in October last year and I I tell you, it's the best phone I've ever used. I used to have M7 and it never gave me any problem except its tinted picture quality in low light. I upgraded to M8 and I've not regretted doing that. I'm surprised people are complaining about M8's camera. I don't see anything wrong with its camera, perhaps, because I've had a GE camera which I use to take pictures. The phone doesn't heat, it doesn't lag, superb screen, wonderful build, the battery lasts me over a day, etc. Maybe I'm lucky to get a good one. Go for it and you won't regret it. Remember, there's no perfect thing in this world.
Is it's battery backup very less? Does the phone heats up very much? Please help. I'm searching for a new phone. I liked it's features but dont know how good it is. If it is not a wastage of money I would like to buy it.

And that to me, it says a lot about your academic credentials plus your current state of mind. Recollect criticisms are good if only they are constructive and attracting solutions. Or else if you anyone dislike an item or thing he must crush it or sell it. Common Sense, M8 is best for me I keep OR M8 is the worst phone ever I crush it or sell it. Simple as ABC. if I encounter issues with my M8 I'd prefer htcians to help me. Simple as ABC. Nonetheless, htc for life no matter what

The competition's cameras are simply too far ahead. High-quality 16MP and 20MP sensors can produce much more detailed images than even the best 4MP sensor and some of them already make clever use of pixel binning to produced higher quality lower resolution shots."

well guys don't quarrel. M8 without a doubt is a great phone, but just post your opinions not the arguments. Hope you guys understand it ... :)

There is no Note 5 at the moment which means something is wrong with your brain. peruse your writings very well. buy any phone of your choice because it's your dollar at the end of the day. Needless to say, don't come here and lie about M8 because you will find me here. Even most of the phone analyst throughout the Internet agrees that M8 remains relevant this year. I even said to you what are the things that are worse in M8 and you have not answered. since m8 it's a worst phone why can't you sell it or just give it to anyone out there? simple as abc. I can write a mini book about my experience with m8. just see and hear what others are undergoing by their phones and you will praise M8. Nonetheless, htc for life no matter what
