But 617 has enough practical and useful differentiation to make it a good Soc. Besides, qualcomm likely picked the right clockspeeds this time to alleviate any overheating. 1.7 ghz was too fast for a 28nm A53, and 1.0 ghz was too slow for basic tasks which will lead to unnecessary core cluster switching (which is what happened with the 615).
Processors are more than CPU and GPU clockspeeds. This thing has a lot of new options and capabilities that make it IMHO a better deal than putting an 801/805, which only really excel in meaningless amounts of additional speed. Sure, the GPU is better, but that's only a deal if you play intensive mobile games. Cat 7 speeds (300dl / 100ul), carrier aggregation, quick charge 3.0, and efficient yet sufficient A53s make the 617 a winner in my book.

no matter who copied whom..if u like then buy and if it would be a i phone clone then apple would must take some legal action against htc..i like it very much specially for camera and design and tnx to this competitive market of smartphone otherwise we would not see these type of outstanding devices...

Apple copied their 6 and 6s from Htc M7. 4.7 inc display and back design. Then no body say that Apple copied HTC!!! But when Htc change their own design for something new, everybody say in one word Htc copied i phone. From m7 to m9+ there are same design, that makes Htc lover boar. what's wrong there????? If anybody copied they are apple.

Nice think about copying iphone(?). Guys have you ever saw any HTC before that ish.t before, well if you had than you will know who was copying who. Enough said. Read about HTC unimetal body design way before Apple even thought about it.
