Had they positioned the 'back' and 'multi-tasking' buttons next to the fingerprint scanner and made that the dedicated home button to use the full size of the screen and had they kept front facing speakers I probably would've bought this phone.... Could have been a great all rounder.

don't see why so much hate, it looks pretty nice. Kudos for HTC making mid range phones with more premium materials... plus its nice to see Android phones going back to 5" or smaller sized screens for one hand usage.

Hard to say who is copying who??
antenna bars were design from m7 in 2013.
Rounded off design was from m8 in 2014 Q1.
Then in Sept, APPLE came out with that combined design.
Now A9 was copying iph6? I think back design was already in Desire series with plastic.
Just A9 happened to be finished with metal, doesnt mean HTC copied.

It's a solid phone.

A midrange soc coupled with more storage and ram will be beneficial for everyday use. Very functional.

thwinoo, 21 Oct 2015Haters gonna hate. i always admire iph6 design but dont like bcoz of its OS. Now with A9, i ca... moreExactly this.

I like this phone. The price will surely drop after about 4-5 months, which is when I'll buy it. The developer community is gonna be big, as this thing is coming BL unlocked. With it being AMOLED, the battery life has very good potential for improvement with dark themes, and the A53s have good efficiency and will work even better when undervolted and target frequencies properly implemented. Devs will also open up its ability to do 1080p@60fps as SD617 is capable of it.

I'm looking forward to this phone. HTC's warranty is also a big plus.

It will be another failure of HTC definitely. Actually it has hurt the emotions of htc users; reasons are (1)No one htc user would like to be called a user of a such phone that is a copy of another company's flagship.(2) very high price for such features.

Thus htc has hurt the ego of its customers itself. It will be better for htc, stop copying and donate or sell Htc to Grand and Honourable APPLE and be its part directly.
