Even my 2013 Galaxy S4 sounds like a better deal than this
Let see a quick comparison of the specs with HTC own m9, that your own site provides...
So A9 to m9...
1) Bigger size for no reason (in all 3 dimensions) for same size screen.
2) Worse screen to body ratio.
3) WAY worse CPU and GPU (!!!).
4) Worse camera resolution.
5) Worse audio setup (stereo front boomsound to mono bottom).
6) Smaller battery (might has little difference though as CPU is less demanding).
A9 is lighter, has fingerprint sensor (in bad position - on the back is WAY better ergonomically, but ok most manufacturers do the same mistake copying Apple) and has OIS.
Comparison to flagships of other brands is disaster.
I really really hoped they present A9 in NON premium price today and along a real flagship. No go.
r1abdu, 20 Oct 2015This is my next phone A9!battery is a disaster, only 2150 mah. and high price more of 600 eur .waste of money
I actually question the fact that HTC puted the exact same stripes as I phone.
WHY??? Would they do this any way.
And the old fashion design was htcs own signature.
I'm really disappointed in this one.
We witness the fall of a big manufacturer.
Wang went as far as to claim "best phone for years"???
Mediocre (to total cr*p) specs at premium price.
And competing as "iPhone alternative"...
HTC managed to make a design so good with m7 that Apple copied it (and modified it).
And then HTC again MANAGED to steal back the modified Apple design, like a minor Chinese manufacturer instead of stepping on their past and going up.
You need to try hard to fail from that position.
I wonder about the positive review. I mean REALLY wonder (IYKWIM).
Seems HTC hired two designers: one from Samsung responsible for front, and other from Apple taking care about rear.
taurus, 19 Oct 2015apple just took two stripes and people say its an htc copy! Look at this set and you will real... moreThe 6 is as much as a rip off as this is of the 6 but seeming as it's their original design language and NOT Apple's, HTC win this one. Look at the iPhone 4 to 5 models. Similar design language then the completely changed it with the 6 and blantently used HTC's design language. Obviously Apple ripped the back design off but I will totally admit the front is Apple inspired but maybe it's HTC's deliberate intentions to wind Apple up.
HTC phones name are so confuse, so One A9 are suppose to be forward or backward series? A company that even get the name right, what else they're good for?
Wake up HTC, or you'll lost greatly to even your own country China other phone brands like Xiaomi, Huawei and Lenovo.
Htc realised front firing speakers was bad idea, and a good battery nobody really needs, keep it up htc this will surely be your last year in mobile industry
Not sure what you're all complaining about...This is FINALLY the device I've been looking for! Good imaging, fingerprint sensor, 5 inch screen (so not huge), decent battery and good enough chipset. And as for it being a copy of iPhone...the iPhone is gorgeous. Hope this looks just like it :-).
Right now, if you're looking for TOP flagships there are only 2 brands for android: SONY and Samsung.
The others are just wannabes..
HTC is history.. RIP HTC, RIP..
Caroline, 17 Oct 2015I so agree with you! I also have the One S since 3 years and I would like to have a newer vers... moreWell in some ways it might be a new One S for newness sakes in as much as the One s was the last Amoled HTC did. Granted the slimmed off body of the One S has never been remade except for the looks of the Axon which is similar in design. however, the A9 is far superior specked to the One S and has a sexy smooth body.
The One S had two variants and I ensured I got the S4 chip set which by all counts is still more than enough for general fluid use. lets see where HTC takes us. Onwards and upwards. I noticed there has been some super cool renders of a new handsome device from HTC here and there on the story book conceptual stages which will no doubt be bigger than the A9 - pity, as there are so many shovels around but I have a feeling that some cool things are going to happen. Hope so as the repetitive m design was a bit tired. The mid to high A9 is looking pretty good overall. Like the amoled, rounded edges, image stabilization 620 chipset is fine etc.
