6 hrs 8 min for video playback is extremely disappointing especially for a phone with a 5 inch/FHD. The LG G Flex2 scored 10+ hrs for video playback. Web browsing can vary. But video playback is closer to the SOT for that day you use it. After NINE generations, it seems HTC only got it right once with battery life which was last year with the M8. It seems M9 has battery life from earlier Android and HTC devices which were awful. Bad habits are hard to break.
Htc one m8 have great battery life and m9 should have even better battery for sure
Alien, 16 Mar 2015Things a phone in 2015 should have to be HIGH END: - SD Card (you brake ur phone, say good ... moreyou're talking nonsense you rather make your own phone. whose crying about battery on m8? I'm using m8
Anonymous, 17 Mar 2015Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset may have been found to run cooler than the 801 in some parts... moreNumerous sites have also tested it and found no such problem.. So take the overheating issue with a pinch of salt.. Also it's impossible for htc to overlook this.. This chipset must have been tested by htc itself only...
All thw stuff about the snapdragon 810 overheating is a load of fud. The claims have been debunked so for all the people hoping to get the m9 like me just ignore the claims cause there just fake
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset may have been found to run cooler than the 801 in some parts, but it looks like it may be leading to some overheating issues after all. Specifically, we're talking about the HTC One M9, which employs the Snapdragon 810 SoC.
A Dutch website has tested how hot the handset gets while running the GFXBench benchmark, and then compared what it found to a few other high-end devices: the iPhone 6 Plus, HTC One (M8), LG G3, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Update: HTC's online communications chief Jeff Gordon tweeted that the software of One M9 is not finished yet. Therefore, any benchmarks from the device have been published "illicitly."
Subarno, 17 Mar 2015I am planning to buy M9 and it is going to be my first smartphone. can anyone suggest whether ... moreGo for E9. since E9 has equal sized speaker grills It looks better than m9 which has irregular shaped speaker grills.I wish e9 came with another version of aluminum body and finish like m9, then at least 90 percent of the people would prefer it over m9 even if m9 had slightly better sound quality than e9.
I am planning to buy M9 and it is going to be my first smartphone. can anyone suggest whether it is a good decision to go for it.

Amazing phone by htc
To those saying the design is getting old : I actually think HTC is doing the right thing refining the proven design, if it works why break it? The phone is not too flashy, not to sober. The specs are great, nice to see that upgraded camera (altough I find the 4 megapixel camera enough for a regular users' needs).
HTC,use high-end 64-bit nvidia chipset for 4th gen. ONE & 128GB or 256GB internal storage & without sd card slot
like done with nexus 9
i'm waiting for 2016
pinakid, 17 Mar 2015at this range 2nd camera it must at-least 8mp or more and we still except a larger battery.Battery is always good enough in HTC One series. It's 4 mega pixel camera with ultra pixel technology which is good for selfies...
at this range 2nd camera it must at-least 8mp or more and we still except a larger battery.
Things a phone in 2015 should have to be HIGH END:
- SD Card (you brake ur phone, say good bye to ur data)
- Waterproof (do i need to explain?!)
- FHD or QHD display
- NO MORE THAN 5.0 INCHES (Get a note or a phablet if you want more!)
- 4GB RAM
- a good camera that has:
- the NEGATIVE effect - i'm a photographer
- touch to focus (no auto bs)
- I don't care about the front one, i'm not an obsessed chick about selfies & Facebook - i covered mine with black tape :D)
- 3000+ mAh battery (doesn't matter if it comes out or not)
There's a lot more, but I think these are the main ingredients from MY point of view.. Salt&Pepper as u wish :)
P.S. For those who have the idiot ideea 2-3GB of RAM is enough: Since I've bought my smartphone, I haven't touched my PC. PC's are so yesterday's thing! Adapt or die in a dusty shelf..
As indicated in an earlier comment, I said that the HTC One M9 would do much better than expected due to the S6's mistake of no SD card and lower battery life. This has already begun even before the first handsets for either have been sold. How can I make such a claim? Look at the daily interest percentage on the graph to the left. It was hovering about 28% pre-launch, went to 31% on launch day, then dropped back to 28%. However, as of today, it is at 39% which is a full 26% increase over the launch day values. Anecdotal, yes, but still impressive change. Bodes very well for the HTC One M9, in spite of the comments regarding bezels, speaker placement, bar, old design, and other repetitive "form" comments. As said before, HTC One M9 will win and win in a very big way with this. I have also seen random polls which indicate that the M9 is favored out right over the S6 and even the S6 Edge. This will not happen in reality. Samsung is a giant compared to HTC. The S6 will still outsell the M9 by a very significant margin, but HTC will bite into Samsung's mobile market share in a way that has not ever been seen before. It will be fun to watch.
