[deleted post]There's no need of QHD, let alone UHD on smartphones around this size. These kinds of display not only worsen the performance, but they suck the battery like a vampire as well. In order to compensate the battery life, the smartphone needs a bigger battery, which in turn makes the smartphone bigger, and thicker. You don't want a 15mm thick phone, do you?
Besides, what's the point of having a ridiculous amount of pixels in a 5"-5.5" display? You're unlikely to benefit from the pixel density unless you regularly watch the screen at an extremely close distance.*
You might say that S810 will compensate for the performance loss. Well, to be honest you might be true. But why not utilise the beastly S810 with the humble FHD for much much better performance, with virtually 0 lags at all.
Looks like I've given the points necessary to counter your statement. Therefore, I will not response to any further arguments. Period.
*Check out your pixel density limit here:
AnonD-90736, 25 Dec 20145" inch yet again another complete fail, should be around 6.5" with these specs and ... moreHa ha ha.. 6.5" ?? Max size of a phone should not exceed 5 inches for one handed use.
[deleted post]To have a 2K screen on your phone is more than usseles ! But some gimmick lovers like you wan't 4K screens on a phone ! The batterys today can barly take you 1 day with heavy use on 1080p and less than one day with 2K screens and you wan't 4K ... I can understand some people , let's ask for all the usseles things possible on a phone ...
AnonD-344642, 24 Dec 2014According to me all these companies like Samsung ,HTC, apple, Sony are just thinking of profit... moreThat's because Xaiomi doesn't pay royalty fees or have an R&D or advertising budget. Once they step on western soil, if they will ever be allowed to. They might just flop. Secondly they will be hit by a million of infringing patents.
Companies like Apple, HTC, Sony and Samsung have brand presence and after sales support. Lets see how "Consumer friendly" your xaiomi is when your cheap phone breaks down.
AnonD-76365, 24 Dec 2014Good move by opting for 1080 screen. 2k is only to make people fool. I don't feel any differen... moreIf there is no need of 2k/4k display than there is no need of snapdragon 810.Thats totally rubbish idea where SD810 is made for handling 4k display seamlessly u cnt provide even 2k display.ok fine.if people still happy with FHD 1080p of 2013 technology than they should also be happy with SD800/801.....No need of SD810!!! SD 800/801 more than enough for 5 inch 1080p display
Its great device but this model need to increase the inshes to 5.5 or 5.8
and the reasolition become 4k
The screen should be 4K not FHD, the screen also should be 5.5 or 6 inch
rest of specs are great
snapdragon 810 with 1080p?? omg this will be super super fast
i will buy this for sure O.o
5" inch yet again another complete fail, should be around 6.5" with these specs and I would definitely buy it. The s810 chip is completely wasted on this tiny baby device, HTC needs to wake up otherwise it will continue to make losses.
I like this phone but hope that htc logo/bezel/ulgy black bar gets removed and maybe the screen size upgrade to 5.2 in last year's dimensions or they could keep it at 5 inches and skrink the phone.Hope the camera software is good because even though the m8 was bad in hardware(camera)it took great pictures without any playing with settings.
Looks like everyone is learning for their mistakes:
Some makers are refinig everything because they are the jack of all trades master of none...Sony and Apple.
very very great i love it
i wish this phone have a bigger version like one max 5.5 or more
htc m8 was best phone last year and i have a dream year use it and now i wnt to up date to next one
Anonymous, 24 Dec 2014its actually octacore XDThese big brands are still selling cause it's hard to get your hands on a xiaomi or 1+1
