Its normal. On every phone. If you are using desire 820 that gives you the 50'c warm. Thats the overheat

Since the back is plastic, it's not as cool as metal backs. After running heavy games my ME would go up to 41°C but not more than that. But I have heard in some devices the heating is critical. Honestly I don't like the warm touch of this phone. When I pick it up most of the time during the day it's warm.
The battery too isn't that great for me. It's not bad though. Could last a day with normal usage. Turning on 4G affects battery and so to avoid draining it faster, turn it off when not needed. But it's better than a few phones out there with a higher price range.
Overall performance is not bad. But it can get slow if you have too many apps or less storage. Some apps directly affect the performance and battery life. So if your device performs slower, check which apps are constantly restarting and consuming more RAM and storage than usual. But the performance is great and smooth. The processor is stable than most Snapdragon chipsets and there is very less thermal throttling unlike maUP Snapdragon chipsets.
I WISH THE PHONE GETS FREQUENT UPDATES. UPDATES CAN MAKE A GREAT DIFFERENCE. HTC FIXED THE HEATING AND PERFORMANCE ISSUES OF THE M9 WITH UPDATES. THEY RECENTLY FIXED A CAMERA ISSUE OF THE HTC 10 WITH AN UPDATE AND NOW THE DEVICE TAKES BETTER PICTURES.

Rivindu, 26 Apr 2016When gaming is concerned, I think it's the 2K resolution that is behind the poor performance. ... morejust installed htc's boost+ app......it helps in improving performance and battery life for htc one me too like htc10.....in future it could also be used to change gaming resolution to 1080p but for this phone should get marshmallow update....also after marshmallow this can be used to lock app using fingerprint scanner....but till now i havent noticed any performance issue...everything is running great....only some slight heating issue with 3g/4g internet....gaming performance is quite good......i played modern combat 5, asphalt 8, nova 3, nfs no limits etc and all of them ran smoothly.......no problem what so ever....so peoples dont spread rumours.....it can handle heavy games nicely....

When gaming is concerned, I think it's the 2K resolution that is behind the poor performance. Other phones with a 1080p panel with the same processor and GPU sort of delivers better performance (Closer to Adreno 330 if not better).
HTC's new 'Boost+' app for the latest HTC 10 has a feature of downscaling the resolution of games to 1080p in order to save battery and also it will improve performance. Sadly that feature at the moment is available only for the HTC 10. But a future update will hopefully roll out which would support other HTC devices as well (This feature is only for HTC devices).
This feature would rectify the gaming performance on the ONE ME and the ONE M9+.

AnonD-530342, 25 Apr 2016Which phone is best htc one me or xperia z3+, please help me.... I would recommend Z3+ if you are a heavy user and play a lot of games on your phone. If not for media consumption, ME is really good and performance isn't that bad. Check more reviews on the z3+ and learn more about the user experience. Even though the specs of z3+ are better, it won't promise a good user experience.

But I haven't tried the games you mentioned. But I have heard reviewers say that the Helio X10 handles Modern Combat a bit better than the SD 810. But it may not be true for every device because I saw a video on gaming performance of the M9+ and Modern Combat seemed to struggle but the Redmi Note 2 handled the game really well with only a few frame drops here and there. Maybe the M9+ struggled is because it runs on a 2K resolution.
