dont' forget the baked-on ceramic case. a major plus from look/feel in your hand, and cosmetic durability standpoint. hate putting a protective case on my phone to protect against drops and give a better grip, only to have it show the scuffs from the inside of the case after only a short time of use. this feature will easily prevent that, and also won't feel as hot in your hand as metal or even some plastics.
So I'm up for an upgrade and looking at the two HTC phones. I like larger screens so the One X is a good candidate but this One S is a beauty.
First you have this metal case that at least on paper looks awesome: http://www.stuff-review.com/2012-03/watch-10000-volts-blast-through-htc-one-s-case/
Then the Snapdragon S4 processor which might be better than the quad-core one. My only worry is that it's not 720p.
It's a tough one. What do you guys/girls think?
why use amoled screen? why? what was the last htc product with amoled? i hate those amoleds.
why is there no freakin' radio? i get that they want to be on par with iphone4s with no sd card but with a dropbox, no removable battery of sorts, minimalist design and everything.
but the bottom line is no nfc, radio, and the battery is just ordinary :p
gliatiotis, 14 Mar 2012The phone is based on the MSM8960 not MSM8260A . Trust me i have one here next to me .
And ... moreNope, it is Snapdragon S4 MSM8260A 28 nm ARMv7 1.5 GHz Dual-core Krait L2: 1 MB Adreno 225. Check wiki.
I am soo looking forward for this phones review and battery tests...
The phone is based on the MSM8960 not MSM8260A . Trust me i have one here next to me .
And will hit 160-170 Mflops in Linpack with just a single run .
Almost 200 Mflops in Performance governor .
(All roms are pre-rooted at this stage , still the bootloader got locked in the last update sadly....)
i'm definitely getting the grey ONE. The blue accent is sexy. Not much phone these days with nice grey and blue. Plus the curve side with grey will make the glass stand out compared to black.
i am very tempted to buy this phone. i have had my hands on a couple of HTCs and i love the feel of their devices and of course their UI, but i was disappointed by their hardware which is what is driving me to have a Samsung. i guess i'll have to wait and see how this fares against the GS2. for all who are bothered by the lack of SD card, Dropbox will take care of that and in 2 years you will be selling your phone for a quad-core or something.
why would anyone want Beats ? best headphones for deaf people 2012 award
Sessanta, 12 Mar 2012This phone is really good overall, however it has a big downfall.. NO SD CARD, while we're onl... moreIDK if you're Indonesian or not but "sucks" is such a strong word. I've been to Wimbledon, somewhere in London and I didn't get a 4G network not even 3G. it's mothafuka LONDON!!! would you still call LONDON SUCKS?
sincerely, HTC fan.
why there is no Beats headset where are they use Beats Audio like sensation xl?
I m a big Fan of HTc and i waited too much for some thing ..and I m happy withthis realse but thay cant gave any micro Sc slot in this phone which is quit disapoinment for us
my current phone is desire s with 8gb sd card and it wasn't even full. i keep wondering what u guys put in your phone. i think u guys just too lazy to manage it properly.
well, lucky me, not many people going to buy this phone bcoz of that small issue. lets keep it that way so that when i'm walking around with one s, peoples keep watching from a distance and eager to touch it. unlike sgs2 which is too common these days

NO SD CARD, while we're onl... moredude..'sucks' is offensive. i've been to indonesia. it's 'kampong' experience can't be found elsewhere. tourists keep pouring in to experience the untouched flora & fauna. so, be proud of your country
