Check the back of the box. If the model is Z560e, you got the S3.
If the model is Z520e, you got the better S4.
I bought this phone yesterday and i have some questions:
first, how can I tell if I have the one with the s4 chipset or the one with s3?
second,I really like htc's clock widgets but they are shown kinda strange on my phone.for example only white numbers are shown on the clock which has 3 black circles.what causes this?

On paper, one of the best phones around. In reality, another crock of HTC SH1T. Buyer beware - you may end up with a One S with an older and more power hungry S3 chipset instead of the advertised S4 chipset. Adding to what has become typical to HTC's way of doing business, as in passing off one thing as something else, is what is becoming known as the "infamous "home" button defect" and the One S "locking" up when local RF signal drops below certain thresholds. HTC can't seemed to be bothered to fix any of this up. So aside from all this, enjoy your wait for the next Android update. Who knows, it may take as long as the one once promised for the Desire S. Still waiting for that one. HTC - once an OEM, always an OEM.
Joe, 22 Nov 2012http://www.htc.com/in/smartphones/htc-one-s/#specs processor is 1.7Ghz dual core. Unfortunately you're wrong. It's a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core 1.5GHz Krait
Sophia, 25 Nov 2012After much consideration, I finally decided to buy HTC One S. I bought it about 5 days ago. I ... moreLoL its a qHD display. And try a hard reset. Before you get too much into the phone. A factory reset will fix the problem. If not. You always have fourteen days after the purchase to go return it in exchange for a new one. Not to mention the 15 dollar restocking fee. But its worth it.
I love my One S
anyone knows wen is the jelly bean update releasing for one s..i am from india...
AnonD-82582, 27 Nov 2012dude.
There is no source that HTc One S is discontinued.
It won't atleast for couple of more... moreHi.You said that You Own Both One S and One X.
I want to buy One of them,Are they Good Phones? Are they Worth Buying? I don't want to waste my Money!
And Between One S and One X ,which one is better?Which One do you suggest? I like One S a little more, and One Xs Quad-core Processor Doesn't really Matter to me, I know that the dual core Processor on One S is enough for me,But My Only Problem With One S is Its memory!I don't Know If It is Enough Or Not!!I don't Want to Regret It Later.(I Use a lot of apps and games and always have a lot of Music on my Phone,But Not Movies). Please Help. Thanks :)
S3 processor on some markets instead of s4 is a mistake of htc. I had Dhd and it was last phone with htc logo. I am not going to pay same money for s3 version (not s4) only becouse i live in worse part of the world (poland). HTC, shame on You!
