Do you really see sub pixels in screen sometimes as most reviews state?
AnonD-76250, 18 Oct 2012That is not true about the GPU the 225 is just an overclocked 220. Also the s3 is just as good... moreYes GPU do not have any overall change accept a little better clock but slight performance enhanced for the same reason as it has been clocked at 400MHz from 266MHz. Whereas cpu I didn’t say that it exactly the A15 architecture but based on. QUALCOMM’s try to customize the architecture to make their own innovation in it.

This is probably the best upper midrange phone, especialy now build in with 64GB of internal memory. It is a shame it doesn't have as much publicity as it deserves. HTC would be TOP manufacturer if they would build only phones like this one - S.

crack-core, 14 Oct 2012One S with 1.5 cpu is ARM A15 based architecture with new Qualcomm S4 chip with newer adreno 2... moreThe Snapdragon S3 isn't A9-based SOC. It's A8, that's why S3 is a failed product from qualcomm, it's laggy, bad memory controller, etc. S4 is absolutely fantastic, yeah you don't get Tegra 3 games, but the performance is really impressive.

i'm from the philippines, and luckily i managed to buy an HTC One S (S4) in italy. fortunately, mine was not affected of the chipping issues. happy with the phone, it's speed is a beast! no lags or anything. not even the home screen bug that affects almost all of you. i'm proud to be one of the rarest owner of an HTC One S with NO issues. the only downfall with the phone is the battery life, and the front facing camera which is only a VGA camera. yet overall, this is the best smartphone i'll ever had. :) HTC One S (S4) rocks! :)
- Light, but strong
- Slick and elegant
- Battery ok (with some tweaking it lasts me a fair day with about 3-4 hours screen on time, with stock software it still does 15 hours runtime)
- Good Audio
- PERFECT CAM!!!
- Very good screen
Well, then there is this:
Nice device, but be aware that numerous users are experiencing a SERIOUS ISSUE whenever carrier signal is weak:
The phone will then switch homescreen/multiple screen view on its own in very quick succession, and disable all the capacitive buttons. It will keep doing this until you find a spot where the signal is better (if you're lucky). In the meantime, you will not be able to do anything at all: call, pick-up, use apps, whatever. Basically, you then completely loose control over your phone.
This issue has been reported to HTC by many users SINCE APRIL 2012, but no patch or update has been released yet as to (successfully) address the problem. So keep this in mind if you want to purchase this device... You have been warned.
I also highly doubt there will ever be a software-fix that will adress this adequately as there had already been three attempted fixes which failed to cure most if not all devices.
Various threads on XDA forum are currently discussing this issue, gathering testimonies from hundreds of users and organizing a communication campaign to inform the masses. Don't forget to check them out before you invest in this phone!
HTC, please FIX THIS ISSUE! Thank you...
