i'm from the philippines, and luckily i managed to buy an HTC One S (S4) in italy. fortunately, mine was not affected of the chipping issues. happy with the phone, it's speed is a beast! no lags or anything. not even the home screen bug that affects almost all of you. i'm proud to be one of the rarest owner of an HTC One S with NO issues. the only downfall with the phone is the battery life, and the front facing camera which is only a VGA camera. yet overall, this is the best smartphone i'll ever had. :) HTC One S (S4) rocks! :)

Pros:
- Light, but strong
- Slick and elegant
- Battery ok (with some tweaking it lasts me a fair day with about 3-4 hours screen on time, with stock software it still does 15 hours runtime)
- Good Audio
- PERFECT CAM!!!
- Very good screen

Well, then there is this:
Nice device, but be aware that numerous users are experiencing a SERIOUS ISSUE whenever carrier signal is weak:
The phone will then switch homescreen/multiple screen view on its own in very quick succession, and disable all the capacitive buttons. It will keep doing this until you find a spot where the signal is better (if you're lucky). In the meantime, you will not be able to do anything at all: call, pick-up, use apps, whatever. Basically, you then completely loose control over your phone.
This issue has been reported to HTC by many users SINCE APRIL 2012, but no patch or update has been released yet as to (successfully) address the problem. So keep this in mind if you want to purchase this device... You have been warned.
I also highly doubt there will ever be a software-fix that will adress this adequately as there had already been three attempted fixes which failed to cure most if not all devices.
Various threads on XDA forum are currently discussing this issue, gathering testimonies from hundreds of users and organizing a communication campaign to inform the masses. Don't forget to check them out before you invest in this phone!

Just go to menu as nd find where is software rest,click it and then your htc one s will work just fine.Greetings from Bulgaria...!

idk why all ppl Crying this is one of the bestest phone every its verry good i got this phone and useing it and no BUGS or any other problems with the phone i recommend this phone its very good and very good battery life

Had this phone and it caused nothing but hell for 5 months, DO NOT GET THIS PHONE !!! Had a fault with the original handset which appeared within 3 weeks where it flicked back and forth to the home screen. This would happen as soon as memory was being used therefore making the phone unusable. Multiple updates, returns for repair and replacement handsets (with the same fault) later I finally got rid of the thing.
Has lots of great features and is a lovely phone to hold, great screen and very easy to use IF IT WORKED !
