Anonymous, 26 Mar 2012What are you talking about?! ...it's a great entry level device at If you were after an entry level device (so money was an issue) you would buy one of the two previous devices Rhyme or Desire S.

The Desire S also had more RAM. In recent years you could not rely on HTC to create a compact 3.7" phone but you could rely on more RAM.

Now the One V brings us:
      - an over sized 3.7" phone (very tall)
      - an ordinary processor
      - a lower level of RAM

One good thing is that the 1500mAh battery should get good life with ICS (and with not many pixels to push).

I don't understand why this phone has been created. It is almost the same dimensions as the HTC Rhyme but the older Rhyme has 50% more RAM.

HTC have made a lower end version of the Rhyme. Wouldn't you now be able to just pick up a now older Rhyme for less money.
Can someone explain the point of this phone?

Or is it HTC are trying to sell new hardware on the basis of you getting a software upgrade.

          It looks Crap..
Disappointed to see HTC going the wrong way..
Even my Explorer looks better than this..
When I saw the One X, I was impressed by its features and looks..
But this one, Its just a big piece of crap..
          512MB RAM for ICS..
          Is this a Joke.?

Good: Nice design, Latest android software, Latest HTC sense software, contains imagesense, double shutter, f2.0 aperture, Beats audio integration, 25gb dropbox for 2 yrs free

Bad: Body is albeit too large, no amoled screen, no secondary camera, only a single core 1ghz processor, only 512mb of ram. No beats earpiece for one v

Disappointing as i feel that many key features like the processor and ram are too lousy and even worse than mediocre. The only consoling part is that the novel but pointless marketing gimmick like beats integration and dropbox is there.

If this runs smoothly despite having a single core processor, then this'll be my first HTC phone.

Can't wait for the review. :)

120.3mm for 3.7inch screen!!! Almost everyone going for a 3.7inch screen is for its compact size and this phone ruins its appeal by being huge.

Chin like design is the worst kind of design ever. Look at sony's design and learn something how to be unique.

And i hav heard its finishing near the bottom screen is not good at all & this is definitely not like the HTC i knew.

In my opinion, htc have gone terribly wrong with htc one v, good strategy for one X & S though. They targeting for low end device but they make it very low end almost like rubbish. 3.7 inch in 4 inch body? If i'm their marketing manager i'll propose low end that is targeting young user. I meant 3.7 inch, plus a slide out keyboard for social networking. In addition, it's not just going to attract budget minded user especially teenagers but also some high end user who search for phone with keyboard. It's a same concept like htc chacha except this one might replace desire z. It's very shameful what they did for htc one v. I hope they have something good under their sleeve.

                              Regards, -htc fan-
p/s: i'm looking forward to work with htc to bring innovation from consumers perspective

Google is suffering from the age old problem of making heavier software because hardware is increasing.

Problem is hardware is better to a large extent because devices keep getting bigger. That is a road to nowhere
