HTC ONE V is a great phone. I agree phone is little hot but may be its aluminum body or consume more processor in backend. and maxim time it a hot only charging time.
no hang lag issue. if you are using genuine application then you ll't be face any software types problem. camera is according my exp 7/10. sound great. net speed good. mutitasing managing is also good.
overall 8/10 my exp.

over locking/rooting is fully risky job..,don't do it without sufficient knowledge.it may void ur warrenty,may freez ur fone to an end(bricking).so just keep whatever u have now.one v has good speed for whatever task that u r giving.but please don't compare it's speed with a quad-core tegra 3 device.ooverclocking will increase the speed.it is possible to do OC one v upto 2.1Ghz.but reduce battery life+heating problemm.my opinion is don't do that.waite for software updates from HTC,it will improve the perfomance.hope HTC will keep in touch with the device.

if it becomes slow then you should run task manager and stop all the apps running bcoz in background it is running alot of apps which coz it to slow
I am using it and i love this set becoz its awesome and is smooth
