I was excited to get the phone but was disappointed with a few key points. Firstly the sound quality when receiving calls is too quiet and fine when in a quiet place but makes it impossible to hear people if answering the phone in a noisy place. I read a few other reviews complaining of this issue after finding it out for myself.
Secondly I found the screen is not visible in sunlight so cannot text or use internet outdoors.
Thirdly I was disappointed with the durability of the screen. It cracked twice which is costly to repair with no real force on it. I could blame carelessness if I was a teen or 20 something, but being a little older and using it in a more gentle manner I could not believe it.
Finally to combat the above after the first cracked screen I bought a HTC phone cover to protect it but this overheated the phone and caused it to stop working so I had to also pay to have it fixed for that too.
When I am indoors in a quiet place the phone spec is good, the camera is good, the touch screen and apps are good but it was a huge let down to have such large flaws with it.
Have been using my HOX for almost two years now. Just recently, I replaced the battery with the bigger capacity battery of the HOX+, fixed the WiFi issue (which is hardware-related) and got a new shell (the phone is white now). My HOX feels like new, with better battery life. I see myself using this phone for a few more months. Thumbs up!
Got the battery replaced after 2 yrs from htc repair centre with 1800 mah capacity (1200 INR). After a days normal to heavy usage I'm quite satisfied with the battery and SOT. i got a screen on time of 3hrs 38mins which is very good considering the 1800mah battery... this phone is really good and you cant compare it to todays phones... I'm sure to use this baby for another year more or less... unfortunate that htc did not provide further software support...
