humper, 12 Jun 2012go for it dear! One X is awesome! I hate Htc phones .... HTC Hd2 hurted me . Htc one x over heating.....
htc one x win in looks department compared to samsung s3. but specs-wise, s3 wins by a landslide. this wi-fi issue will not help htc. it will only make more people lining up for s3 even longer.
This phone design are nice ,battery ok ,smooth and everything are good ...but manufacturing quality are very poor. my phone have front camera issue and get change new handset ,but problem is the second I get also having screen issue (yellow tint ) ..Both he device I have are DEFECT product!!!!! Must think twice when you are interest in this phone. Because smartphone have issue will made you in very trouble ......Although they can provide you a very good after sell service ...you still need to wait and live without smartphone ....good luck to all.......
Now that the company has admitted the wi fi connectivity issue being a hardware mistake. It has become mandatory on them to allow its authorised dealears to replace defective sets immediately. But bottle necks will exist unless htc provides new production sets soon. Shame on to hookwing customers of 700 us dollars. Now worth peanuts. Since S3 arrived. Wi fi is basic without which you cant use full potential of cell. Awaiting as usual with a dud responce.
baba, 17 Jun 2012lg?hahahaha who buys lg?we like htc and samsung only.lg my b good bt htc is much better then lg.I bought LG. It was Optimus 2X and was a damn good phone for the price.
I sold it in favor of OX. But I cant say anything about 4X

If you donot want OX's or S3's power (which you correctly think is the reason for lower battery life) and you are okay with 8 MP camera, you can checkout more options.
Galaxy S2 comes highly recommended.
HTC one S and one V
Sony experia S and V
Look for options.
But please, I would never go for a Symbian phone, which is not going to have any support post 2013 (and a no-existent app store).
Harikrishnan, 18 Jun 2012Hi All ,
I am going to give you my hands on experience with One-X and S3. I bought S3 almost ... morenice review, Although you didn't really give any weight to the aesthetic appearance of the two phones:
HTC One-X is a head turner and S3 seems to be a plastic toy. Samsung fell short of expectations in this area.
I can agree to a great extent that MC slot is definitely an advantage, especially in India, where high data charges make cloud (read Dropbox) impractical. But, for me personally, 32 gigs is more than enough. And that is completely on a personal level.
Removable battery is not an advantage at all, unless you can afford another 2100 m battery, and would carry it around always.
AMOLED and S-LCD are more or less the same, until we examine them very closely. And if we examine all the specs that closely, there are more than 10 of them which would be good in either of them.
For me, looks and Sense were the deciding factor, and I went for One-X. S3 looked cheap.
AM confused as am a complete noob if android is considered.guys just tell me y is that core quad given to this , is der any photoshop etc,
i wanted 2 buy a fone but i came back , need help from you guys
my head was spinning 2 select 1 between htc 1 x,samsung galaxy s3 and nokia 808 pureview.
as per as my knowledge ,808 is having great p.s camera(41mp) fourty one mega pixel in addition with rich recording and dolby surround on ear phone.lacks thousands of app but u will find the app which u need.
htc is brilliant with animation and apps, can shoot and capture pic on the go(but i heard picture u capture while shooting is only 1.3mp whereas 2mp is needed to print a pic of 6x4 inches around 300 dpi.
sg3 again a gr8 innovation by samsung . s-beam,smart stay etc.
i was bout 2 buy htc 1x but didnt.coz my research stated a low resolution screen.less or single core cpu enables a better battery life.coz at the end of the day i will have to transfer my pics and video on my desktop which has much more resolution.adding to tht nokia is having better SAR value so connectivity is better.
(sar- specific absorption rate ---radiation which is harmful 4 human body,,more than 1.6 sar is harmful but less than it is not harm.htc samsung all are making around 0.40-0.70 thus saves the battery but offers less connectivity of networks and wifi)
nokia compromises the screen cpu 4 connectivity.so getting a better battery life.plus a good music output in earphones.portable p.s camera. and adding to it i saw asphalt 6,spider man, dungeon hunter2,avatar games working on it
plz do help guys otherwise i might end up buying a nokia 808
Had 3 devices from Rogers. Every one had WIFI problems, Bluetooth problems. Support is terrible.
I would stay away from this phone. Maybe I should have been jumping out of a plane instead of just trying to use it. HTC - Never ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi All ,
I am going to give you my hands on experience with One-X and S3. I bought S3 almost 10 days back after many research and comparison. The last tie was between OneX and S3 . Both are good phones but I liked the white color of S3 and the expandable memory and reachable battery , so finally locked on S3.
Same time my friend bought One-X , so we both got a chance to compare /review the devices .
I must tell you both are very good phones , good configuration and equally matching performance .
Which one looks better is purely personnel and I donít want to give any weightage here . Poly carbonate or Plastic doesnít matter , both have its own pros and cons.
Some features are extra in S3 ( smart stay , auto call , S beam etc ) , these are all nice to have but not a must . ( I am sure in short time you will get apps for doing all this functions) . Also One-X is having a Car Mode , thatís also a nice to have feature.
HTC Sense and Touchviz UI , both are easy to use and again liking is purely personnel and more over a UI is just a customizable thing and many good UIís are available on market place .
S3 is having a expandable memory , which I think is an advantage for backup and related functions. Also if you are a movie / song buff you can keep multiple cards with content .
Now I am coming to the most important part , Battery and Battery life .
S3 is having a removable battery , and psychologically it is a comfort factor , in practical I donít know how much it is usable , ( iPhone users never felt non removal of battery as a big issue ) . Now only this concept is coming in other phones , it might take some time for users to adjust with .
Now coming to battery life ÖÖ. Umhhhhhh
First of all , I want to tell all of you that , smart phones are computers , so once you start doing many activity it will drain its tank. Donít think any smart phone will last for 2-3 days like your old Nokia phones .
So S3 battery , for a moderate users ( some browsing on 3G , game playing , connected to push mail , some video) will last only 10 Ė 12 hours . For a high user it might drain in less than 10 hours.
For My usage ( always connected to my office mail , little bit browsing on 2G , fiddling around some apps and game ) I am getting 24 hours on single charge , ie I usually charge my phone between 7 Am Ė 9am to 100 % . Then by next day same time I will have 10 Ė 14 % left in the tank.
But if I use little high ( more browsing on 3G , some app download and using etc ) by evening 8 Ė 9 PM I touch under 20% .
So now you might have got an idea about its capacity . Last two days I have changed my screen background and lockscreen to utter black , and believe me this started saving me lot of battery. Earlier with Samsung default background ( by the way it is very nice , we never feel to change that ) if I check my battery usage in settings area , 50 % of battery was used by screen only . and after changing to black , screen usage is came down to just 27% !!!!!!.
So my advice is after the first one week ( that time we need to show case this to all our friends ) , adjust all settings to power saving mode and put a black background , this will help you lot.
One-X also have same readings , it is draining little more faster because it has only 1800mAh battery . But overall 2100 mAh battery of Samsung is not giving any wonders. In One ĖX the UI is white in color against full black of Samsung , so Samsung have some inbuilt advantage . ( in AMOLED black is the most power saving colour) . Also HTC has a LCD panel , which wonít give full black ( means never turn utter black , it will be dark grey only so it needs to consume some power always as against Samsung AMOLED where black means switching off LED ) .
Also donít compare/rate your phone battery on initial days , because you are always fiddling with it , so it will consume more than your average normal usage.
And for charging , please charge your phone , whenever it goes down to 60 % , this will help you to increase the battery life , rather than charging it after reaching 10% . There is no shame in charging it often , usually I saw people are little reluctant to put their phone to charging so often , because they are thinking it is viewed as a bad quality of their device - but what about your laptop , you are plugging in whenever you are near to a power source , and you donít feel anything wrong , So as your smart phone , this is also a computer , it requires power . BUT donít put continuously on power like laptop , because this may cause damage to your protection circuit ( in laptops it is very sturdy ) . Once in a while you can wait till it reaches some 5 % and charge again , this is to ensure the calibration of your battery meter ( which is helping you to know how much % of charge is in your battery) .
Overall S3 is having a little advantage on its battery life because of higher capacity of its battery as well as its AMOLED display ( if you put utter black background) . But that is not a significant difference as long as you are near to a power source.. And if you are in outside for long time , please ensure you are not in 3G and all other unnecessary services and apps are stopped . also donít take out your phone often to look its screen by pressing lock button ( I saw this habit in many people ) , if a call or SMS come it will alert you then only you need to look , no need to stare at it every 10 minutes , it doesnít have any emotions if you not do so:)
So I am just concluding , Both S3 and One-X are the two good phones in market for the higher range users . Both are good in performance . You can select based on your budget . price difference between the phones are 3- 4 K in Bangalore . One ĖX will get from 34K and S3 Will get from 37K depends on the store and your bargaining capacity.
I thank you all for the comments on my post and the feedback on the phone. I do like the phone. its one of my best buy till date after using, HTC desire HD, Xperia S, Galaxy Note, iPhone3GS. its a very nice phone. But i wil still vouch for these things-
1. Battery is OK but not good.
2. I was recently in Greece and updated my phone OS there. Still no improvement in the audio output via phone speakers. I am so frustrated with the low output that i ma planning to sell the phone. I cant hear anything even when when i am in the same room.
3. The heating issue is what primarily pushing me to sell the phone. It is too much for the heat. And yes i just said that it burned my ears to mark a statement. But yes using the phone in temps around 35-40 degrees (India), the phone heats up very much.
over all the phone is good and scores pretty good with the current smartphone available in the market but then these issues are prevalent in the phone and make it a not-so-perfect phone of the time.
Does the black or white HTC One X having same quality for the entire phone? (for example like sharpness of color for the screen) Cause I do read the mobile magazine comment black color has better quality. Kindly point it out if anything else is different. Thanks!
The only thing i hate about it is that the home screen wont be swiped through and through. I miss it from Sense 3. When i get to the one end and needs to access an app on the other end home screen, i would have to scroll 5 times which is irritating. And they changed the scrolling of apps menu to sideways instead of downwards. Sense UI is becoming more and more generic androidish. And i hate that. Loved everything else though.
I've been using my One X for close to months now. i have been encountering battery issue. I made calls to HTC numerous times, and they admit that these's a lot of complain from customers, and that they also aware of the battery issue. Finally, after a short while - about one month something ago, HTC ring me & inform and ask me if i receive & download the OTA update, which I did. The battery problem is still not solved!! ... The battery issue I'm facing is the un-steady battery consumption - let's say after I fully charged the battery and let the phone sit around without any in coming or out going call, or any message or e-mail, do nothing at all, just standby over the night, the One X sometimes only consume 10% of the battery in 7-8 hours time. But then at times in the same situation, the phone will drain up 25-30% of the battery in merely two hours something - this cannot be right!! ... I believe it's the problem with the Tegra 3 chips?
Watching movies or having the screen on also drain the battery very quickly (the screen brightness already adjusted to pretty dim). Having Skype running on this phone also drain battery very rapidly (this never happen to my previously owned iphone 4, nor the Xperia Ray, nor Neo, nor Arc S).
My brother also own the One X he also find that the battery drain fast (his previous phone was the Motorola Atrix).
The only way to solve the problem is to stop all task in the "Task Manager", and then restart the phone!!!
My mom brought the Samsung GS3 a few days ago on a contract, this is the first time she use a smartphone. I as using her phone for the past couple of days to setup the phone for her. After using the GS3 for 2 days, I'm amazed by it. The Amoled viewing angle is much better than the One X IPS (especially when watching movie / youtube). A lot more function too. The GS3 is much nicer to hold in hand, and the look is so much better in reality than in the pictures (I use to say that it look ugly and hated the look of it in pictures & youtube video). The GS3 also use a lot of battery, but the draining is very steady, so what is wrong with the One X ??!! Anyway, I'm going to trade-in my One X for the Samsung GS3 (which I've to add Euro 220 for the trade-in).
One thing I must mention:- HTC service advisers are very friendly & helpful, and HTC service is excellent!
Htc one x is the best cell phone i hv ever used.let me tell u thet i hv used samsung galaxy s 2,htc sensation desire hd,htc sensation xl,nokia n8,nokia x7 but but but........ one x is the best mobile.it has amazing display, superb sound and sexy build.it is highly slim.it is very light.it does not hv cheap plastic like s2.battery is superb(i am not a heavy user).android 4 is interesting.htc sense is too gud.and above all it is cheaper than s3.i wish it could b available in full white colour like sensation xl!.lcd2 is highly responsive.its shape is faar better thn s3(s3 looks like a jumbo size toilet soap although i like its specs)
