There are many, but I have tried out the following two freewares for rotating screens. Although, both of them are basicaaly for many other features, but both do rotate the screen pretty perfectly. The applications and there locations are:
1. QuickMenu: Its H-V Switch will rotate the screen.

2. AE Button Plus: It has a rotation option.

Only challenge you might face is with "Full Qwerty" keyboard of HTC, which doesn't work in landscape orientation as it is made only for Potrait orientation. You can use windows Keyboard or download any other keyboard freewares like Finger Keyboard etc.

If you are upset with the hanging/freezing of the phone, you better get it checked.. of all the people i know who have this phone (including me), this phone has hardly frozen ever.. i suggest you get it checked by the technician or the service center.

no offense guys.. but to me... if someone is not happy with this phone... he/she doesnt know windows mobile.. there are no specific issues with this phone. if you not happy... you cant blame the phone.. there has to be something with you ...

one of the best windows mobile, try LG before worst! HTC Touch 3G more STABLE its the main criteria for Pocket PC right!

This has got to be the worst phone I have ever owned. Battery life is abysmal, keyboard very finicky to use, phone manages to dial numbers while in my pocket with screen saver on !! Only another 22 months and my contract is up!!!

I'm aware that Touch 3G doesn't have Accelerometer, so auto rotation is not possible, but we can always manually rotate the orientation of Window based phone. But this option has been blocked in HTC Touch 3G due to TouchFlo settings. So, I was wondering if there is any 3rd part software (reliable & tested) to manually rotate the screen with a click. I found one named "Quick Menu", but there the Full Qwuerty keyboard gets deformated once you rotate the screen to Landscape. Are you aware of any other?

Accelerometer is a hardware not a software. not aware of the software to rotate the screen. but autorotation is not possible in this model as it requires the hardware for motion sensing.

Can it be done during browsing net in opera/IE browser(the one which come by default) and typing sms/email?

Rajeev, 31 Oct 2009hi guys i would like to know if this handsets screen rotates while using the net...No, This phone does not have an accelerometer.. the screen does not rotate when the phone is rotated. There is no secondary camera.. only 1 camera 3.2 MP with fixed focus.. but for the price this is good.
