I don't get why everyone is complaining about this phone. I upgraded to the Diamond from a Nokia N95 and I love it.
Ok, it can be a little slow, but its no where near as bad as people are making out, I think GSM Arena also say in their review. Compared to the N95, the camera is obviously not as good or is the speaker or phone call quality, but everything else is superior.
The only thing I've had trouble with is using the gesture system on the touch screen, but this is getting better as I get use to it.
The screen on this device is brilliant. I was unsure whether having VGA on a 2.8' screen was such a good idea, but it really looks amazing.
anybody already worked with Diamond GPS?
it works like a car GPS?
like GARMIN, MEGAFORCE, others
In the VodafoneUK warehouse today, should run better than the Orange version. Only time will tell but it looks like a nice phone!
Anonymous, 14 Jul 2008as htc name says, it is ''Hard To Connect'' (HTC)Hahahahhahaha that's a good one!
New improved Comm Manager for Diamond:
I had the diamond for 5 days and I find it to be a very decent phone. There are a whole bunch of customizations you can do to it to improve the performance such as updating the rom and tweaking some areas. Also the battery is really not all that bad, mine holds the charge for a full day with medium usage with wi-fi off of course. Also you guys should turn off the beam to your phones to always being on to being off. The only down side to this phone is the screen going black during a phone call but I'm sure future rom updates will address the issue.
ram c, are you sure it's not a network thing?
So far I have had none of the problems you have mentioned. Youtube plays fine with no glitches.
Do you keep WiFi and bluetooth always on? It might have something to do with your poor battery performance.
Do you guys know if the North American version of the phone ( 850 / 1800 / 1900 ) is out and available in the market?
I brought this TouchDiamond just three days back and had enough of it. I had been using mobiles for last 9 years and this is my worst mobile ever. Even after overnight charging, the battery goes flat by noon. Youtube is simply useless as the phone gets hanged while streaming of videos. With Orange as service provider, this phone is a nightmare. Had enough, I request GSMARENA to please give ratings after hands on testing.
Just a hint for all Diamond users:
SKKV Software has released a software called GSEN which allows a wider use of the accelerometer (auto-rotation in more apps, widescreen keyboard for mails,...)
Philippos, 14 Jul 2008I have this phone for a week (six days actually) and I can say it's so much better than any ot... morein reply to Philippos i agree about the modem trouble.. try to disconnect at intervals to aviod it heting up... and dont carry on using it if the battery is on low as it wil crash!
I have this phone for a week (six days actually) and I can say it's so much better than any other Windows Phone I have ever used (and I have used quite a few). The battery is not as dreadfull as people say, the screen is bright and very responsive. The HSDPA speed is OK too.
The only worry I have is that everytime I use this phone as a modem for my laptop, it heats up quite more than I expect it too.
Otherwise it's probably the best windows phone in the market today.
Great design & nice sleek phone. But very poor battery life & the Touch screen is sluggish. The software/user interface needs huge improvement.
But I believe this will be a winner & star for HTC.
Alkali, 11 Jul 2008Go to settings > Home> and select Touch Flo it will remove the Home screen you have.thanks alkali.the issue is solved now after i was advised to do a soft reset by the Htc team. There is still no touch flo icon in the settings menu.
