iphone Rules!Greetings Anonymous,
Yes, as far as the GUI and overall user experience is concerned, the Iphone does rule, sadly, the Iphone is not a true business phone, so it can be lived with as a fashion statement (its really very good at that) , but not as a business phone , which is expected to double its chores as a full laptop replacement, almost at all junctures
Very Impressive for an average phone
BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARDS HTC
Ok, I'm really getting frustrated and disappointed here. The disappointing part is that the touch UI is indeed sluggish. The frustrating part is that there's word of a ROM upgrade but it is not legitimately available to those who bought this phone when it came out. And when you do your own research on upgrading from some developers, they use language that seems to be english, yet does not mean anything to me. I wish there's an easier and more accessible way of upgrading the ROM of early Diamond buyers.
i have installed opera 9.5 on my touch cruise from wwwh1800pocketpc.com and its really working fine about replying to emails in the writing box just hold the stylus for few seconds then you can write its working fine for me ,
why the hell do you lie man ?6 days ago you said you bought diamond and cruise is better and now you are saying you just bought diamond people maybe want to buy this mobiles dont bull**t any more enough please ,
Review *NEW* HTC Diamond ...
" I’m now using the latest shipping ROM on the HTC Touch Diamond and am happy to report that HTC has fixed a number of the issues I detailed in my earlier review... "
What is the difference between HTC Diamond's GPS and HTC Touch Cruise's GPS? Please explain
frank, 25 Jun 2008i just want to share my experience after few days using touch diamond: i am trying to get rid ... moreGood on ya Frank all true , just bought this phone and Im having the same problems and what is with the phone screen goin dark three seconds into your call and I have actually reset mine like 10 time now .... this phone isnt worth the 5oo pds ... I won,t recomend this phone , just wait for the iphone ... Cm n HTC !!
hmmm just cant belive that the producer release such of bugged phone... so many negatives... how this phone get pass the tests? The HTC will have a bad name because of that phone i think... or maybe it's just a case of subfeelings of owners... i was think i wanna this phone... but now i don't xD
i just want to share my experience after few days using touch diamond: i am trying to get rid of the phone because there are too many things not working!
-no sound alert when you receive an SMS with the device in sleeping mode: this means you always have to keep the device with screen on! Battery will last only few hours and whenever you touch the screen you will activate some functions so you cant carry it in your pocket for example!
-no alarm when the device is off
-already 1 unit replaced because there are not spare parts in the service center in singapore
-so many other functions are not working and too many bugs (i should write for hours...)
PLEASE AVOID TO BUY THIS MOBILE!
" Ditching Internet Explorer for the Opera Mobile browser the browsing experience on both Wi-Fi and HSDPA is, to put it plainly, beautiful. It is the first device we've seen that gets anywhere close to Apple's iPhone browsing experience and the increased speed capabilities if you are in coverage make surfing very quick... "
And as others have reported, its very slow. The lag between pressing buttons and something happening is huge.
The screen and keypad disappear when on a call, which is totally useless if calling automated answering machine numbers, even when calling voicemail.
Quite disappointing all up
Had the phone 3 weeks. The Battery life is very poor. Less than 12 hours most days. The screen is good. Great resolution. The internal memory battery doesnt work. The 4GB internal memory gets completely wiped blank when the phone battery runs out (which is often)
theV, 25 Jun 2008I've had the HTC now for nearly a month. It has been a pretty big disappointment. I'm such a... moreGreetings theV,
must confess that i also feel let down, as mentioned earlier in the posts, i returned mine within 6 hours of owning it,
its an undercooked product,
i wish phone manufacturers would have let apple carry on with their direction, rather than trying emulating it, it has not been a success, i have tried the apple, but sadly it lacks several key features which are essential for a business phone,
i am now looking to acquire the htc touch (solid product. although frumpy) , or the 3470, which has much lesser features but is actually a very good product,
better luck next time , i guess,regards
somebody tell me is it tis phone got Rom problem? wat is the laster Rom Vision???
Hello, can someone tell me that is this phone always connected to the internet? I'mean that the phone connected independet witchout asking a user? And is there any thing to block the screen? like a keypad lock in stadard phones?
I've had the HTC now for nearly a month. It has been a pretty big disappointment. I'm such a huge HTC fan, but his was a huge let-down.
At the core of my problem is the OS. I'm not sure what it is but it's extremely SLOW. And I mean slow. Push a button, wait 3 seconds while the handset changes. Touch Flo, WM6.1 - whatever, it just doesn't work. It's so frustrating trying to just dial a person because it takes more than a few seconds for the phone/keypad to appear so you can dial out. The worse though is the browser. Both Opera and Internet Explorer are horrible. It takes forever to load, and when you zoom in or zoom out, it takes another 10 seconds to load each change - drives me crazy. Some pages don't load properly - for example, the "box" on Yahoo Mail doesn't work so I can't REPLY to e-mails.
Another frustration I have is that the screen is actually much smaller because you get the top and bottom "bars" (aka "taskbars") that basically make the 2.8" screen into a 2.4" screen. I didn't trade up to get a smaller screen!
I do like the google maps and how it can now locate you based on triangulation of base stations as well as GPS. It is very small, thin and light.
I had the opportunity to try out the Omnia the other day and for a WM6.1 device, that works. It was much faster (though not iPhone quick) than the Diamond. I'll be trading up for that though I am not a very big Samsung fan, when I can get around to it.
Meanwhile, I hope HTC listens and does something because it was a very nice looking phone. Too bad.
